While my future is promised to one man, my heart wants Crew Kingsley.
My enemy. My addiction. My boyfriend’s brother.
Crew isn’t the prince in any girl’s story. He doesn’t want to win my love, he wants to steal it—simply so he can make me regret ever letting him.
If only I wasn’t addicted to his pain.
Crew’s hate burns too hot. His heart is too cold. But his punishment… is just right.
When given two choices, a smart girl picks the safest. But Crew made me sick, I made my choice, and even if they think they already wrote our ending, the story is about to change.
Eva Simmons writes dark contemporary and gothic fantasy romance. With over twenty published books, Eva is constantly crafting new worlds and falling for the anti-hero in all of them. When Eva isn’t dreaming up stories or devouring every book she can get her hands on, she can be found spending time with her family, painting a fresh canvas, or playing an elf in World of Warcraft.
Eva is currently living out her own happily ever after in the Midwest with her family.
My last piece of innocence, and I just offered it to a devil.
Have I already mentioned my newly found obsession with this series? I dove into Crew and Echo's story immediately after finishing Lies Like Love. As an intriguing as Crew was as a secondary character, he stole the show as the main one. And while this is a standalone in a series, I highly recommend you read it in order because the story arc for these two begins in the first book.
The animosity and lust between Crew and Echo is obvious from the first time they appear on the pages. But Echo is with Crew's brother, Rhett, and I couldn't wait to dive into this deliciously twisted story. Now if you're thinking this is a love triangle, it's certainly not. The relationship between Rhett and Echo is in name only, for an arrangement and agreement made 8 years ago. Desperate to help her sick father, Echo agrees to tie herself to Rhett. Though, admittedly, outside of Rhett's own ambition, I never fully connected to why Rhett's father is so committed to this lie, but I digress.
As the day that she has with her life being her own disappearing looms in front of her, Echo is desperate to part with one last pesky piece of her past, her virginity. And who best to offer it to? Her "boyfriend's" brother who seems to hate her. All joking aside, the connection between her and Crew has always been there so while it sounds outlandish it also made sense that she would go for him. And for those of you that like your MMCs obsessed and falling first and hard, you'll love dirty talking Crew.
Now admittedly, there were parts of the story development that at times got overshadowed by the sex scenes for me. Don't get me wrong, not to the point that I skimmed, because they were hot, and I'm not complaining. But I wished we got a bit more meat to the story. Both Echo and Crew were very complex characters, but I never fully connected with Echo the way I hoped I did and the way I did with Fel in the previous book.
That aside, I still binge read this book in one sitting. It was a fast paced, addictive type of read. And while the ending was mostly predictable, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. And now I immediately need Sage's book because I have a feeling his story may be my favorite in the series. Because that set up at the end of this book? NEED.
4,75⭐️ oh my god Crew and Echo are everything to me. This is a forbidden romance where she is supossed to marry the brother of the mmc. But let me say the relationship between Crew and Echo is one of the best she has ever written. Echo is by far one of my favourite characters in the world. This is one of her bests books and it will not disappoint you.
Another addictive read in the Twisted Roses series. Crew and Echo. Hate/dislike to lovers, virgin heroine and it was good! Like book 1 the hero is crazy obsessed with the heroine and I just enjoyed the hell out of Crew and Echo. Yes, he does some questionable things but he’s vulnerable and protective when it comes to Echo. She slowly starts to find her voice around Crew and her growth is terrific. They’ve both experienced loss in their past and trauma but first it’s their mutual physical attraction that connects them. When it goes deeper so does their honesty and vulnerability to each other. The steam is on point! Next up is Sage and oh boy I’m pumped. This series came at the right time for me. Fun, steamy and entertaining as heck.
Eva Simmons was a new author to me but based on the tropes, I had an idea I might enjoy this book. I was not wrong.
Her name should have been my first warning because that’s what she does. Echoes inside me. Haunts me to my fucking bones.
Echo Slater. Preacher’s daughter. Promised to Rhett Kingsley in an arrangement. Ready to sacrifice her life for her father. Will she put herself and her happiness first?
“I don’t want your prayers, Echo. I’m no faux saint like my brother. I want your sins. I want to watch you burn for me. You want this? Then get on your knees, princess, and crawl.”
Crew Kingsley. The bad boy. The tattoo artist. The fighter. The one who enjoys riling her up at every turn. Sexy as sin. Possessive. He knows she is meant to be his. Will she realize it in time?
We couldn’t be more different, given his world is made of gold and mine is the cheap copper that paints a green ring around your finger. But in his eyes is infinite chaos. Sick rage. Hate in its purest form. Beauty.
Echo grew up with her drug addict mom who would do anything to get her next fix – even pimp out her own daughter. She had nothing and no one to lean onto growing up. All goes to shit when she stabs the man trying to sexually assault her because her mom sold her to him. The silver lining is that her father learns of her existence and she is finally given a home.
The next adversity comes soon after. Echo’s father needs a new heart but he is at the bottom of the transplant list. Until an arrangement with Mr. Kingley occurs. In exchange for a heart to her father, Echo will later on marry his son.
Rhett is sweet, honest. We know we stand in this together and are both willing to make the sacrifices necessary. Rhett is my future, as promised. And it’s the one promise I can’t break.
Rhett is the golden boy. He wants to be a preacher and take over Echo’s father’s congregation. He has the perfect facade to the world and that’s the extent of Echo’s knowledge of him.
They have an arrangement. Until they are married, both can engage in any extracurricular activities with anyone they want. As long as it all ends when they get married.
I get an idea that will send me straight to hell. It doesn’t matter if I hate him. Crew enjoys making a mess, and I’m in the mood to burn everything down.
One of the few things Echo has control over is her body. Hence all her tattoos. And the fact that she is still a virgin.
Once Echo realizes the wedding is getting closer and actually happening, things are put in motion with Crew. She wants to decide who she gives her body to and it’s him she wants.
“Lie to yourself all you want. Hate me all you want. And tell yourself whatever you have to if it’ll make you feel better about what we’ve done. But when you close your pretty, golden eyes at night, the truth will still be there—you’d rather be my slut than his wife.”
Echo and Crew hate each other. Until they do not. They work together and after Echo makes her proposition to Crew, they start gravitating towards each other. Sparks begin flying.
Echo is faced with a dilemma. She wants her boyfriend’s brother. She does not feel anything towards her boyfriend. But, she has made a promise to her father and she intends to see it through. Even though she will suffer for it by sacrificing her happiness.
This girl was cut from the stars and made for my galaxy. Custom built for me to orbit around, and I’m not sure how I’m just now seeing it.
I actually really loved how Echo and Crew’s relationship began forming. From the moment they met at the place where Crew had last seen her dead mom, there was something sizzling between them. Although, neither wanted to acknowledge it and, like kindergarteners, they denied the attraction and covered it with picking on the other one and by fighting.
Echo might think she knows all there is to know about me, but she’s about to learn I’m a twisted, sick fuck who doesn’t share his possessions, so she shouldn’t have made herself one of them.
Due to her past, Echo had deep trust issues. Crew only cared about himself and always put himself first. Both Echo and Crew had some growing up to do and their change was gradually visible throughout the book. Crew got there first and I love how, despite all his possessiveness, he wanted to wait for her to realize her feelings first to make her come to him instead of forcing her hand.
Everyone loves a slightly unhinged possessive MMC who is ready to kill for you, knows how to make you feel good and degrades you while doing it. That’s Crew for you.
“Where are you taking me?” “To Hell, Goldilocks. Where your destructive little soul belongs.”
I think Echo was a bit of an idiot. I understand having a tragic past and being grateful to someone but I draw the line in sacrificing your own happiness. Luckily, after spending enough time with Crew and seeing from his actions how much he cared about her, she finally saw the light.
The most interesting side character was for sure Rhett. I had my suspicions on him from the beginning because let’s face it, no one is that perfect. I have a feeling there was a lot more brewing under the surface and I would have loved to be privy to his thoughts. Even though I did not foresee all his actions, I saw the darkness looming under the surface and had my suspicions on what he did when he was younger. I was happy to be proven right.
Oh and this book was worth reading for just for the smut. Too bad there was not more of it.
I received an ARC of Heart Sick Hate in exchange for an honest review
This was my first ever read by Eva, and let’s be honest, she is a phenomenal writer!!! I am so thankful I was accepted to read this eARC, as she is now one of my top 5 authors.
This is the 2nd book in the Twisted Rose series, but can be read as a stand alone (I read as a stand alone but will be going back to read the first book).
Goodness the push and pull, the angst, the chemistry between the MC’s. This was a book that I read in one sitting because I HAD to know how it was going to end. I devoured it so fast.
Echo comes from absolutely nothing. She was dealt a bad hand from the moment she was born and her upbringing was not easy at all.
Crew grew up with money, the world at his fingertip’s, but that’s not what made him tick.
Both MC’s have been through some pretty traumatic situations and they are so much more alike than either care to admit. The hate they throw at one another was so sexy to me. The way the story evolves around the two of them was so captivating and written perfectly.
Echo has made a promise that she intends to keep no matter the situation that arises, and Crew has a plan to make sure she is never going to follow through on that promise. The whole storyline is fueled around this situation and I cannot express how much I recommend this book!!!

"the demons that reside there. Angry faces that match the darkness in my husband’s soul. I love the broken sides of him because his cracks are where I fit, and it’s how I’m whole"
4.5⭐️. I’ve been seeing this authors name for a bit now and FINALLY got into one of her books and it did not disappoint. Crew and Echo were fantastic characters. The story itself was well written and had a plot different than what I have read before.
I think my favourite parts were Crew’s chapters and how his growing feelings about Echo were written. So freaking good ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
This is the second book in the Twisted Roses series, but can be read as a standalone.
After finishing Lies Like Love I neeeeeeded Crew and Echo’s book asap so I was extra excited when I was approved for an eARC. But omggggggg, this book does not disappoint. It was literally everything I hoped it would be and so much more. I didn’t want to put it down. Eva Simmons is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her ability to craft a spicy, but heart-wrenching story that is also full of twists and turns is phenomenal. I am obsessed. You should be too. 😜

Eva Simmons what the 𝐅*𝐂𝐊 have you done to me — 𝐘𝐎𝐔 shattered my soul with 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐞, the second standalone in the 𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 series! Just when I thought I found my favorite book of yours, 𝐘𝐎𝐔 go and make me fall 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐥𝐲 in 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 with Crew Kingsley and Echo Slater. These two were 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘-𝐅*𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆-𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆!
Echo Slater is the preacher’s daughter who willing 𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 her own future and happiness in order to save her father’s life — promised to Rhett Kingsley, she’ll do 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔. Their arrangement becomes a little 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 when her 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐝 for Crew Kingsley (Rhett’s younger brother) turns to 𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭, but she made a promise and there is no breaking it — even if she wants to.
Crew Kingsley is the 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒑 of the family with his bad boy 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 — refusing to fall into line as the role of 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 son. He has been 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐝 with Echo Slater for years, but there is just 𝐎𝐍𝐄 little problem — she belongs to his brother. However, that little problem won’t stop him from going after what he wants — 𝐇𝐄𝐑! When she asks him for a favor…he’s shocked, but takes the opportunity to make her 𝐇𝐈𝐒.
Echo and Crew’s chemistry was *𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒇 𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒔* perfect and I was absolutely 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 to their back-and-forth banter! If you haven’t read Eva Simmons — don’t wait any longer! Read one of her books right away because you won’t be able to put down her books once you start! I can’t wait for book 3, 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡, to release!
Man, Eva has done it again! I am stoked I discovered her this year because she just has a way with words and storytelling that is unmatched.
I have been waiting for Crew and Echo’s story at the edge of my seat and it did not disappoint! In fact I think half my book is highlighted now with some amazing (and super spicy 🥵 ) lines!
We first met Crew and Echo in Lies Like Love, as two/fourths of the owners at Twisted Roses tattoo shop. They are two broken souls and through Heart Sick Hate, we find out just how broken they are and the reasons behind it.
Thinking she owes her life to her father for saving her as a teen, she agrees to be a part of a debt to the Kingsley family. A debt that doesn’t start getting paid for eight years, when she turns 23. The problem is, the debt isn’t to Crew Kingsley, the one her body wants. It’s to his brother, the choice that’s safe.
Regardless of how her body ignites at Crew’s touch, they’ve hated each other for so long, and he plans to drag her to hell with him.
The passion and chemistry between Crew and Echo is SPICY, with a capital YUM! This story is EVERYTHING and if you think you know the direction it goes, you don’t.
I cannot wait for where Eva takes Twisted Roses next! Make sure to check trigger warnings!
"There are broken pieces inside both of us, Crew. And you're the only one I'd trust with mine."- Heart Sick Hate (Twisted Roses Book 2), By Eva Simmons
I seriously fell into this book and into this story so quickly. This is Crew and Echos story, and they had me in a choke hold immediately.
We meet these two in book 1 of the Twisted Roses Series, and their book was so anticipated. They are co-owners in the tattoo shop together, but also...Echo is dating Crew's brother. For 6 months, they have been dating, and Crew doesn't understand it and certainly doesn't like it, lol, which is an understatement. Echo is wild and free and untamed. She puts art on her body and on her clients, and she is magnetic. Crew hates that he wants her....but oh, does he want her. Lol
We love it when a man who needs no one falls first and falls hard. For the one woman he can't have. Not everything is what it seems. The closer he looks and circles...the more he will never step away. Echo is his end of story. We are here for this man. Me and my girl Jules were literally screaming with the things this man was saying. He is our absolute fav. 10/10 all the angst, all the tension. It's already one of my top reads of the year. I am just so sad I finished it so quickly. Book hangover galore. Eva, you absolutely slayed their story. Like it was next level fantastic! @evasimmonsbooks @julesreadsromance #heartsickhate #evasimmons #twistedroses #enemiestolovers #arrangedmarriage #virginfmc #crewandecho #alpha #booksandchatswithnickib #buddyread
This was such a good read!! I was so hooked with this book, i read it one sitting. There’s just something about the way Eva writes that makes her books just consume you.
Crew & Echo are meant to be nothing but one night shared between two people who hate each other. That night ends up leading to so much more. The problem? Well, she’s about to marry Crew’s brother.
Echo might be my favourite fmc, she’s a broken soul but she doesn’t let that ruin her. Eva was able to capture her emotions so well. That’s one thing i really loved about this book, she was able to do the same with Crew.
The emotional writing was so good…. & THE SPICE?! I was sweating 🥵
There was a little twist at the end that i never saw coming. My jaw dropped.
Overall, i need my brain erased so I can read it for the first time again. Also I’m a Crew fan & Rhett sucks. She ended up with the right brother 😉
Arranged marriage Forbidden Boyfriends brother Virgin FMC Tattoo artists
HEART SICK HATE by Eva Simmons is book Two in the Twisted Roses Series. This is the story of Echo Slater and Crew Kingsley. Echo was saved by her father when she needed someone the most. Then her father needed a heart transplant and the Kingsley family made a bargain that they would help him get one but his daughter Echo must marry Rhett. Rhett seems easy going and no drama with him so it would seem a good fit. But Echo doesn't feel anything more than a friend towards him. But Crew his brother is the total opposite with trouble at every turn. Crew and Echo had somewhat of a hate relationship but Echo starts to wonder about him and what could be before her marriage to Rhett. Enjoyed
Technically, they were not cheating when h and her "boyfriend" agree to date others before they got married. It's just too dark when you understood what H and h went through in their childhood, and their relationship. Loved how H made h face her true feelings toward him.
I really enjoyed this one! It was everything I could've wishes for right now and has definitely picked me up. Echo and Crew's story isn't perfect but it's what makes them, them.
Eva Simmons always manages to blow me away and I have fallen in love with these two ❤️. The spice was just perfect and I loved(!) that epilogue 🔥🔥🔥😏! I loved the mystery of it all and I was definitely not expecting it.
Eva Simmons is the first author I found in 2024 and became a fan of. This is the first book I read from her and I fell in love with her writing. It’s fantastically written and struck its hold on me from the very first page and I didn’t want to put it down until and unless I had to. I DEVOURED the book and the characters are going to live in my mind rent-free.
The first thing is the COVER, it’s basically the hottest one of all and I am a sucker for good covers. Andy then while reading the book I can see why she made the cover this intense. ‘Crew’ has an aura which signifies FIRE & HIGH INTENSITY. The best thing is how ‘he is a goner’ without realising himself for so long.
Fate is a fickle thing and has its way of making things right when they Need To Be. I adore the thing Crew does for Echo and surprisingly but not so surprisingly what he does with the ring, it was the sweetest and the most possessive thing to do. I can ramble about this morally grey character throughout the year and will never tire of it.
Whereas ‘Echo’ is a beautiful innocent one with a way of being rebellious in her own way. I really like her name and it just resonates with the personality she has. She has a disturbing past that affects her present decisions and the state of denial over her feelings hurts me the most. How she defends her decisions is so sad to see because that’s not what she wants, but still life happens.
The story is addicting and I didn’t want to miss any of it and now that it has ended, I want more of it. I think it’s a good thing that after ending you still want more which makes the story really valuable. The plot takes dark turns by the end and that gave me a reality check. Read for yourself to find out. And I am looking forward to reading the other stories by Eva.
I've been reading a lot of Eva's books but so far the first book of this series was my favorite so I was more than excited to read this story. And omfg I loved it 🤧
To be honest, in the beginning I didn't connect with Echo but the more I read about her the more I liked her. And Crew. . . it's more than official that I have a soft spot for bad boys and when they have a golden heart so yeah Crew got me since the beginning. These two were something else and their chemistry was off the charts 🥵 (and don't get me started with the obsessed boy trope that get me ALL the time 🥵). Crew and Echo's story was so good, crazy and human and I loved it.
I was so freaking excited to read this story and it didn't disappoint. I seriously can't wait to read more of Eva's books and the next book of this amazing series 👀 (captor? yes, please!).
I’ll start off by saying Eva has corrupted me. Dark romance loosely based on fairytales are not usually my go-to. But now??? I’ll be reaching for them any chance I get.
This book took me in a wild ride that I wasn’t prepared for, but one I never wanted to end. Crew mf Kingsley can brand my soul and I’d happily fall at his feet.
Idk what it is about walking red flags that do us in, but everything about this man screamed RUN, and I’ll wanted to do was run TO him.
His possessiveness was unmatched. The way he claimed Echo and made sure to remind her that she was his, regardless of her dating his brother, had me in a puddle.
Any chance he could, he screamed MINE, and I was here for it. Never once did I get tired of that declaration.
And just when I thought Crew and Echo were about to get their happy ending, Eva came and snatched the rug right out from under me. Because that twist?? Was not fucking expecting that. At all.
Everything about this book kept me drawn in, and I’m ready for Sage 😎
Book 2 in Eva Simmons’s Twisted Roses Series continues in “Heart Sick Hate.” It can be read as a standalone. Please read TW/CWs cautiously—they contain some possible spoilers.
Echo has agreed to marry Crew’s brother, believing he’s the safe choice. It is arranged due to unfortunate circumstances, but she wants to enter the marriage, not a Virginia. When she approaches Crew to take care of it, what he thinks is emotionless and a one-time deal ends up more.
Crew becomes o/ bs3ss3d with his brother’s fiancé to the point of torment and teasing. Crew and Echo cannot stay away from each other.
I loved Echo’s character. She tries to take control of her trauma as best as she can. She stands up to Crew. She’s tough. The other characters in the tattoo shop were fun to see.
I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I LOVE Eva Simmons. THIS is how you do dark romance. There’s actual romance and love between the characters and not just abuse and toxicity.
Crew and Echo are so good together. I was super nervous about this book because it has 2 things that can easily make me hate a book. But I was pleasantly surprised that Echo isn’t a TSTL 23 year old and her virginity and its whole plot line didn’t make me cringe. Which is crazy.
Anyway, I devoured this book today in between meetings and fighting being sick and I’m so glad I did. Now onto eagerly awaiting the next one!
I had the opportunity to read the ARC of this book in return for my honest thoughts/opinions for Wordsmith Publicity.
After reading Lies Like Love (book 1 of the twisted rose series), I couldn’t wait for this book to be released! Even though this is a series, it can be read as a stand-alone which is really great. Echo had a very heavy, dark past which was similar in ways to Crew’s and nothing prepared me for that, or how their story would end. The banter and the comebacks were everything 🤭 I seriously can’t wait for book 3!
Not my first Eva Simmons book, but my first in this series, and it was SOOOOOO good!! I loved Echo and Crew, and how messy and broken they both were. Their connection began 8 years prior, in the epilogue, when they briefly meet. We later learn that an agreement was made between their fathers for Echo to later marry Crew’s brother Rhett.
The bulk of the story is about the ruse Echo is putting on, leading two separate lives. The one she promised as a child, to be the good preacher’s daughter. Then there is the real Echo, the one that Crew sees, the one that gets under his skin, challenges him, the one he hates. The one he… well, you’ll have to read to see the mix of things Echo makes him feel.
They’re like oil and water. They’re one another’s kryptonite. They’re so hot together!
Read the content warnings before you delve into this book, there are many!!
“You make me feel everything. You hurt so bad I can barely stand it. You’re my worst nightmare and my best dream. I hate you. And I f*cking love you. And everything in between.”
Right when I finished book one last year, all I kept thinking about was when are we getting book two? Because I’m OBSESSED. I was so so hyped for Echo and Crew’s story and Eva didn’t disappoint. The overall plot, characters, ALL of the toxicity and spice had me hooked. I binged this one so fast, I couldn’t put it down. I love the way Eva writes morally gray characters that are beyond complicated that you just can’t help but root for. Crew is THAT. I also love how Eva goes about writing different tropes in her books because she always does it in a way that’s unique to her own story telling.
I knew from book one that Crew and Echo were going to be wild and that they were going to take us on a roller coaster of emotions and they did. Crew and Echo’s relationship is sexy, frustrating and addicting. This is such a great series and I’m so excited for book 3! *This can be read as a standalone*
With each and every book Miss Simmons writes, she makes me fall harder and harder for her characters. Crew and Echo’s story is all-consuming, I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Echo is dating Crew’s brother as part of a debt and they couldn’t be more opposite than that. Crew and Echo work at the same tattoo parlor, and their interaction speaks for itself. This isn’t a beautiful love story, it is a story about two broken souls, secrets, passion… and you can’t help but fall in love with them. I can’t tell people enough to read these books by Miss Simmons, she has earned a top spot for me.
Every time I read a book by Eva Simmons, I become completely absorbed in and obsessed with the story. The way that she writes totally sucks me into their world and makes me fall for even the darkest of characters.
What is it about a fictional man who is a literal walking red flag that makes me swoon? 🫠
Crew and Echo have both had a troubled past and been through truly traumatic situations, and these situations have impacted the promises that have been made.
The suspense had me biting my nails and relying on the fact that there had to be a happy ever after for them in the end.
The spice is *chef's kiss* These two have off the charts chemistry even when they hate each other. Can't go wrong with some amazing hate sex!
I haven't read book 1 in this series yet, so it can definitely be read as a standalone, but I will be going back to read Lies Like Love as soon as possible 🖤
full trigger warnings will be at the bottom of this review, to avoid spoilers non-spoilers: attempted sexual assault of a minor, drug use and addiction, violence (on and off page), the kink list includes exhibitionism, degradation, breath play + more!
Thanks to the connection this book/series has with other Eva Simmons’s releases, I went into this already SO excited about it! (Even though there are connections, this is a complete standalone, but if you love the giddy feeling of little nuggets, I recommend reading: Enemy Muse series-Lies Like Love-Reckless Games!) Feeling like there’s no other option, Echo is set to marry Crew’s brother. And that’s all I’ll say about HIM. There’s pure hatred between Echo and Crew. You can feel it pour out of the book. But something else between them that’s just as strong: the sexual tension. And it’s been building for years! It’s yummy, and I couldn’t get enough of it! There’s a darkness to Crew Kingsley. A darkness Echo’s own demons reach out towards. Kindred Demons. Matching broken hearts and damaged souls. No one else sees Echo and Crew the way they see each other: see the truths. Crew has managed to have the utmost control when it comes to Echo. Until Echo lays herself out to him on a silver platter, then she has all of the control. I am in love with Echo. Her strength, determination, will power, independence, loyalty (where it truly matters). Crew is delicious. He’s awful, and terrible, and rude, and arrogant. And so perfectly delicious! I am a big fan of jealous, unhinged Crew! My heart is still in pieces after suffering the pain right along with Crew and Echo.
