Cora Kent fell for her first villain before she even knew what romance was. Ever since Scar was denied a happily ever after, she’s been on a mission to give all the dark, dangerous anti-heroes the endings they deserve. If the Big Bad Wolf had swept Little Red off her feet, it might have saved the fairy tale—so that's exactly what Cora does in her novels: grants her bad boys redemption through passion, power, and the women who can handle them.

When she’s not spinning tales of morally gray heroes and forbidden desires, you’ll find her snuggled up with her cat, sipping a margarita, and watching Grey’s Anatomy.

This book hooked me from the first chapter. Raiden our morally grey MMC and Lucrezia our FMC were a beautiful mix. Lux being revenge hungry and just wanting to feel wanted and loved led to many ups and downs. Though her plans to take revenge on the ones that wronged her didn’t pan out because someone had other plans…

This was my first book by this author but i will definitely be checking out her others!

This was a great mafia/MC romance! I loved reading Lucrezia’s story and finding out all about her life and what she went through. She was such a strong, badass character and I actually liked that the ending wasn’t a traditional HEA (marriage and kids) because that gets old when you read a lot of romance books. I also really liked Raiden and how quickly I realized he wasn’t a typical MMC in a dark romance who’s just a straight up asshole. They were very original characters and I cared about them a lot. Definitely recommend this if you’re a fan of mafia romance!

So the overall plot was great. I adored the FMCs strength. I thoroughly liked watching the characters come together and the spice was on point. What missed it for me was the timing. Personally the flow of events felt a little broken. I don’t think it is a writing flow so much as a style preference. There were multiple places where it felt a little lacking in description and details. I definitely wouldn’t have minded the story being longer taking this into account.

I used to think I wasn't a girl who would read books about the mafia & the strong sense of violence within the stories told in the Mafia world x However I have read a couple & each one has given me an insight into further tales which capture me from page one x

I received an ARC from the Author and this is my honest review

Beautiful Mistakes tells the story of a young Italian girl whose Family has shunned her, who have hurt her in the most questionable of ways & each time she has come back stronger, but where does it end? x
Lucrezia shows how a women scorned can be a very dangerous women indeed going to the toughest biker outlawed gang in Kanses to recruit the badass Raiden to help exact revenge on her brother x I knew there was going to be more between Lucrezia & Raiden but it was nice to see it not over powering the story outwith their interactions x

The twists that Cora Kent put into this story were great especially considering it's main purpose was for Lucrezia to take revenge on her brother Saverio x but then when it comes to the aftermath of this & there is still chapters before the book ended I was intrigued to say the least x I knew from the offset their was something fishy about Kristopher but I did not expect the story to take the turn it did x

Captured from page one & kept on the edge of my seat - Fantastic story about finding your place in a world that doesn't want you & forgiven yourself through finding your feet & accepting the person you are x Highly Recommened 😀 xxxxx

I probably went into this book with too much anticipation and got my expectations too high. Unfortunately it was not as entertaining as the previous books I've read by Cora Kent.

I found myself skimming the last 40% of this book, and to think that I was incredibly excited to read about Lucrezia. I felt that the revenge she wanted to take was too much. Sure she went through hell, but what she planned was excessive. Then it felt like reading two books, in the second half of it.

There were a lot of repetitions, Lucrezia claiming that she was this badass only looking for revenge.
I also didn't fel much the attracton between her and Raiden.

ARC REVIEW : 5 ⭐+

If you have read and loved The Mindf*ck series, you should definitely give this dark romantic suspense a shot. This book made me laugh, cry, scream out of fear and swoon.
I could barely put it down. I love Cora's writing. It was so beautiful and I can't wait to read her other books.

Lux is the kind of FMC that you remember for a while. I admire her strength, her vulnerability and her intelligence. She was so unhinged and funny, and Raiden, the MMC was right there with her. They were such a perfect match.
I loved seeing the slow growth of their connection and affection.

I don't know how to put into words how much I loved this story from start to finish. The dedication, the characters, the plot, the feminine rage: Chef's kiss. I love when I finish a book and I just want to read it again and again.

Beautiful Mistakes by Cora Kent is the first book in the Twisted Sisters series. After reading it, I can hardly wait to see what Cora will come up with next. The first book is Raiden and Lucrezia’s story and to say it is a dark romance is putting it mildly.

Lucrezia was born into the Catiglione family, the most powerful of the Midwest mafia, but her father and brother never had an ounce of respect for her. She was shipped off to a convent in Italy, and now she’s back with a vengeance. She recruits Raiden Drake.

“I need the best the Destroyers have to offer…And I’m told that’s you.”

I love Lucrezia. To say she is a firecracker is to underestimate her. She is more like a bottle rocket. She has no fear. I wondered about Kristopher. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I got a lot more than I anticipated. I love how Cora Kent handled the situation.

When God made me he broke the mold.

I love that The Twisted Sisters series have recurring characters and each story can stand alone. Beautiful Mistakes is told from multiple characters points of view. It’s an enemy to lovers romance. There are lots of triggers, so beware. Myself, I love the dark. I definitely have my eye on Cora.

I want to thank her for the opportunity to read and review Beautiful Mistakes.

There is just something special about a Badass Female Warrior who is set on revenge and ruin! Beautiful Mistakes is the first book in The Twisted Sisters series. A cross over of the Destroyer MC Club and the Castiglione Italian Mafia. I suggest reading the prequel of Beautiful Truths first because it gives you the back story of the MCs and what caused their trauma. Lots of twist and turns with suspense filled action, the spice is spicy and the witty banter is top notch. Age gap is 11 years with the man being older; 32/21.
TW: sexual content, violence, knife play, kidnapping, guns, murder, blood, character reflecting on prior thoughts of suicide, character reflecting on prior rape and abuse, half brother having possessive/romantic feelings for his sister.

I would Sincerely like to Thank @authorcorakent for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promise an honest review.

Lucrezia Castiglione is the youngest and labeled the black sheep. She has endured a lifetime of pain. Her brother exiled her to a convent in Italy where she was beaten regularly for 5 years and now she has escaped and has plans to burn down her brothers empire. Lux has revenge plans and she needs the best to help her with her mission.

Raiden Drake is the meanest man in the Destroyer MC Club. He has his own trauma that has left him cold, angry and a hit it and quit it man with the ladies who try there best to change him. He has his doubts that he will ever change until a gorgeous woman with big gonads walks into the clubhouse like she owns it.

Lux easily convinces Raid to help her take down her brother, Saverio, but tension runs high between these two while fighting their instant attraction. When Raid offers Lux his guest room and they're forced to spend some time together, he has no problem showing off his oral fixation.

They end up falling for each other in mind, body and soul but someone else wants her for himself. Can he save her with the help of family that has a!ready made to many mistakes?

**This review contains spoilers**

The first half of the book felt a little slow getting going but the second half was a lot quicker paced. The last 40% was definitely the best part of the book. Some parts felt rushed, such has Saverio’s forgiveness. Given everything the characters go through, both in the book and in the past, I would not have expected them to move past what happened as quickly and easily as they did.

Based on how the story started, you knew there had to be more than what the characters were working towards. Sure enough, once that portion of the story was completed, things really started to pick up, and that’s when the story got to the best parts. I certainly would not have minded if the story had been longer and more detailed though!

If you enjoy dark romances set in a world involving MCs and the mafia, you will enjoy this book. The characters fall for each other quickly, he is a possessive touch her and die MMC (literally), and she is a strong FMC hell bent on revenge. Both characters find acceptance, love, and family as the story progresses.

I got this as an ARC read (my first one ever!). I was hoping to be able to get it read and reviewed well ahead of the deadline, but sadly I was not able to read as much as I usually do. I’m sure if I had more time to read, I would have enjoyed it better. As it was I was only able to read a few pages a day which really made it difficult to get into the story. I wanted to be sure to add a note about this as it affected my enjoyment of the story for no fault of the story or the author.

I look forward to reading more of Cora Kent’s books in the future, including others in this world. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be an ARC reader! This review was certainly not intended to be posted last minute.

I was so pumped when I discovered that this was Lucrezia’s story!! It was everything I was hoping for and more! So many questions were answered about why she was the way she was and it was so cool to see who she was as a character with real emotions, struggles, and desires. You really feel so much empathy for her.

You do not need to have read the previous books
she was in but know that she was portrayed as this skanky, wild child that no one really wanted. She was sent off to Italy to a convent and that is all we knew prior. This book gives us the real and raw behind what actually happened to her.

There were so many layers in this story and my emotions were all over the place. The suspense, the romantic chemistry, the funny moments, and the heartfelt ones made this story so complete. I love how Cora combined both the mafia world and the MC world in this story. I could not put the book down!

Lucrezia and Raiden come together to enact revenge in this thriller romance. The main characters are shaped by betrayal, past trauma, their found family and an enduring loyalty to one another. Lucrezia is a strong female lead who doesn't back down despite a lifetime of evil bestowed upon her. Her resistance and strength throughout the novel is badass. Raiden is everything she needs in that he recognizes she doesn't need him at all, but he will be and do whatever is required to ensure she has her autonomy and is valued. The characters are shady, the plot is twisted and dark and you will be drawn into this criminal world of violence, love and vengeance.

I want to start this review by saying that Cora Kent has never failed to amaze me! Every time I enter her world, I fall in love more and more. The characters are so developed throughout the story from their tough life experiences and romantic encounters. Beautiful Mistakes captured one of the best representations of a woman walking the path of life at full force. Taking the fictional entertainment value out of the picture, Cora Kent's Beautiful Mistakes is meant to empower women across all walks of life. The amount of graditude and appreciation to get one of my most anticipated reads of 2025 as an ARC is unimaginable. I hold each book I have read by Cora dear to my heart and cannot wait for the next release, Charming Villian!

Beautiful Mistakes was an enjoyable Mafia/MC romance. It's pretty fast-paced with a fiesty, hell-bent on revenge FMC, Lucrezia, and an overprotective, rule breaking MMC, Raiden. I definitely loved these two and their banter. There is plotting, action, revenge, and some well written spice. I didn't read the previous series, and so I felt like I missed out on more of the backstory but enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the next in the series.

2 broken souls, united under 1 cause

Raiden & Lucrezia, 2 strong willed and non-fearing people brought together under one mission. Who doesn’t love motorcycle club and the mafia under one roof…or book here?! All ready to reign fire and make the earth crumble! I enjoy the story, turn of events and slow reveal of her history. Raiden is immediately hooked and it only grows the more he gets to know Lux. And after the chaos is unleashed, the most unlikely turn of events happens 🙂

Beautiful Mistakes by Cora Kent ARC Review

This was the first book by Cora Kent that I've read and OMG, it was soo good! The story line was perfect. I absolutely loved following along Lucrezia & Raiden's love story. Lucrezia is a fierce woman and has endured so much in her life, it made me so happy that she found love. Don't forget to read the prequel- Twisted Truth first!

This was definitely a page turner! I absolutely loved this book from page one! I was immediately drawn in and couldn’t wait to see where the author was going to take the story! I loved the banter between the characters, and the protective emotionally unavailable characters. I liked that both characters had a past they were trying to recover from and not just one person like most books. Decently a good book if you enjoy a dark romance!

Okay, so I have been waiting for Lucrezia's story since she was mentioned back in Dante’s & Saverio books. And as much as I loved Saverio in his book & knew he wasn’t the big bad evil brother, what he did to his sister was because he just lacked knowledge of his sister's full story, & it was all due to lack of communication that she had this deep hatred for him. I still couldn’t help but root for Lucrezia on her mission from the start. But, had she told her brother, had he listened years ago, her revenge mission wouldn’t have needed to be executed. But, without all that, we wouldn’t have this book. However, as much as I wanted this book, it did drag with some parts & some of the inner monologues were repetitive. There is, of course, plenty of angst, passion, some action, & a plot twist, which all make for a great read.

I loved how much Raiden was able to start & crack Lux’s walls & help her heal & grow, to find light in the darkness with his love. It was beautiful & the chemistry between them was undeniable. The way Raiden could ground her & be the voice of reason when she just wanted to blow everyone & everything up just to get to her brother, was perfection. Raiden gives her everything she needs, & most importantly, the warmth & love which she has craved for so long, but he gives it all without being controlling & stopping her from being free. Even when he offers her a ring, he doesn’t outright propose to her, because he knew that Lux would perceive that as a sign of him taking her freedom away from her, & the fact he understood that, but just wanted to offer some sort of promise was so very freaking sweet. I was happy to see Lucrezia finally get the family love she had always wanted, needed & deserved.

I’m gonna be honest, I started this book with a negative view of Lucrezia after reading Wicked Desires. After reading the prequel novella Twisted Truths (which I highly recommend reading before this one), my feelings towards her were muddled. If you heard your family talking about giving you away as a reward like you were an object, nothing but property, would you not think of getting away? Also, knowing that your father is a bad man, one who loves power, one who told her older brothers that no one, not even blood, should live if they stand in the way of their empire, would you not expect him to not care for you?? Like I understand she was 12 and 14 when this happened, but I also think her envy and greed are a larger factor that led to what and where she is at the start of the book. Yes, what happened in her past is horrible, but there were also choices she could have made that would have led to different outcomes (like laying low and playing the docile child to subtly gain power instead of outwardly sneaking into rooms to listen to things you’re not allowed to). Also, I was a little disappointed by the cliche: a male lead who lost the love of his life due to a tragic accident and now is just a “hit it and quit it” type.

The big question I had throughout the start of the book was: Was it not her father who wronged her? I remember Saverio put her in a convent instead of killing her because he still cared for her as his sister, but she tried to kill him (at least from what I remember but I read her brother's story a while ago so she may not have tried to kill him). Any actions that happened while she was in the convent were because the people there wanted control and power. I “loved” how she was doing unto others what was done to her all in the name of revenge (that was sarcasm btw) when really she just wants control and power like her father and the nun she killed in Twisted Truths. Lucrezia stated in chapter three, “I don’t let my past dictate who I am, Drake. It drives me to settle old scores, but it does not define me,” but that is exactly what she did. I’m honestly greatly disappointed. For all the hype around her being a badass woman, she fell short. She also isn’t loyal. She swore to her sister that there wouldn’t be any collateral damage, and yet the very next morning when she meets with Raidan, she straight out declares that collateral damage is just another word for acceptable losses but then feels guilty about killing an innocent child so changes her mind once again. Her attitude throughout the first couple of chapters was arrogant and bratty.

Sadly, the romantic relationship between Lucrezia and Raiden is little to none. It started out as an instalust and kinda stayed there and then wham bam ¾ of the way in they suddenly love one another. Their relationship is very superficial. In fact, the whole story is superficially told.

The plot is "revenge." You get bits and pieces of who did what, where, when, and why, but absolutely nothing is completely stated. I’ve read her brother Saverio’s book Wicked Desires and its prequel before this, and if I didn’t, I wouldn't have known everything about the Castigliones. The worst part about this whole revenge plot is that there is no actual revenge. She doesn’t go after those who raped her, yeah she killed the nun who abused her in Twisted Truths, but her brother didn’t physically harm her, and the mental and verbal abuse that was implied to have been done unto her were actions her other siblings and members of the Mafia took. Her hatred and need for "revenge" towards only her brother Saverio is simply a result of being affection-starved. It’s a result of envy. He got everything she ever wanted. He stood by and let her be the black sheep of the family. He was kind to her, then his father’s words influenced him, and he ignored her and became the dutiful son he was raised to be. He pretended like she didn't exist and then sent her away. I understand emotional abuse can be more damaging than physical abuse, but I honestly still don’t know why out of ALL her siblings, he was the target of her ire specifically. It wasn't like he was the only one who wronged her, but oh well. What’s even more confusing is how this book is written. The first half of this book focuses on her “revenge,” while the second half focuses on her half-brother kidnapping her and holding her captive. I feel like the only reason this could have been added in was to sway the reader into pitying Lucrezia again, but I’m not sure. If it wasn’t, I don’t really know why it was written in the first place.

I’m honestly disappointed in this story. For all that talk and buildup for Lucreizia to be portrayed as a strong woman, she really was blinded by her arrogance. Like, really, did she truly think blowing up Saverio’s house was gonna end it all? I’m genuinely asking. Also, how could she ask her half-brother who is obsessed with her (she knows this, btw) to work with her? That was one of the dumbest decisions she could have ever made. For someone who went through HORRIBLE things, she really is ignorant. She believes she’s in control and has power, that she is strong (and in a way she is, don’t get me wrong, she was put through hell and survived) but the moment she gets kidnapped she's waiting for a man to come and save her. [-_-] Be so for real right now. She has this grand speech when she is rescued about women not belonging to men, about being free and how no one will use her again (unless she lets them), but she was saved by men … it was disappointing. She didn’t even exact revenge against her captor. Instead, Raiden, our male lead, killed him. I wanted to see Lucrezia being a badass, but what I got was her talking to men and using them to do her dirty work. I was disappointed she didn’t actually DO anything but plan. I really wanted to see her in action, being on the front lines.

The ending was sweet. I wished the story was more flushed out. It felt rushed, but there were no loose ends. I recommend reading this if you’ve read Ruthless Sinner and Wicked Desires from The Terlizzis series and would like to tie up some loose ends from her character that was mentioned there, or if you just want something to read to pass the time.

If you've ever found yourself craving a story that intertwines themes of betrayal, revenge, and a dangerously complicated romance, then "Beautiful Mistakes" by \[Author's Name\] is the thrilling read you’ve been waiting for. This novel brings to life the tale of Lucrezia, a name shrouded in intrigue, as she navigates the treacherous underbelly of the Midwest mafia. The overarching theme is relentless vengeance; after being mercilessly banished by her brother, Saverio, Lucrezia is driven by a singular burning desire: to destroy the empire he built while she was erased from existence.

For five long years, Lucrezia has lived in the shadows, but exile has only fueled her hunger for retribution. She realizes that in order to dismantle Saverio's criminal empire, she'll need more than just her cunning; she'll need an ally as formidable as herself. Enter Raiden Drake: the enforcer of the notorious motorcycle club known as the Destroyers. His reputation precedes him—he is a ruthless warrior who operates with his own set of rules, generating fear among both enemies and allies alike.

The chemistry that sparks between Lucrezia and Raiden is electric from the moment they meet. Raiden is not just a weapon in Lucrezia's quest for revenge; he soon becomes a magnetic force, claiming not only her body but also her mind and soul. The dynamic of control and submission within their relationship pushes boundaries and offers readers a look into the depths of passion entwined with danger. Yet, as the plot thickens, Lucrezia comes to realize that falling for the devil she has unleashed could be her ultimate undoing.

The author skillfully weaves together multiple tropes, including the age gap romance that adds layers of complexity to Lucrezia and Raiden's relationship. Their fierce loyalty, as evidenced by Raiden's protective instincts, turns the narrative into a high-stakes game where every decision counts. The rise of emotions during confrontations reiterates the notion that love and hate can often dwell closely together, culminating in an explosive outcome. The novel is peppered with dark themes, steamy scenes, and adult content that may not be suitable for all readers, making it a mature yet exhilarating choice.

In conclusion, "Beautiful Mistakes" is not just about revenge; it delves into identity, power dynamics, and the entangled lives of those within the mafia's grip. It’s a compelling read for anyone intrigued by stories of strong heroines and complex heroes destined to clash. As you turn the pages, you'll find yourself torn between rooting for Lucrezia's revenge and fearing the seductive pull Raiden has on her heart. This novel sets the stage for an unforgettable narrative and is sure to leave you eager for more.

“Beautiful Mistakes” is a mafia and biker romance set in Manhattan, Kansas. Some dark themes/events occur and are discussed, so reviewing the trigger warnings is important!

Some tropes: Strong FMC, Morally Gray MMC, “Touch Her and Die”, and a HEA.

When Lucrezia “Lux” Castiglione walks into the Destroyers Biker Club, her presence bleeds dominance and power, silencing the club around her and gaining the attention of Raiden Drake. By the time she walks into the door of the lion's den, she has been plotting her vengeance for well over five years while forced into exile in an Italian convent. Lucrezia has had the trauma and experience worthy of two or three lifetimes and wants retribution; Raiden is the key to getting it. Despite the charged energy between them, Lucrezia is determined not to fall in love. Lucrezia is determined that love and family are not in the cards for her, only to burn her family’s empire to ash- even if it means she burns too.

Raiden believes that love only brings pain. After a traumatizing event when he was 16, he has sworn off the feeling altogether. When he meets Lucrezia, he is determined not to mix business with pleasure and agrees to help her with her vengeance. When he learns Lux’s story from her friend and his club President, Priest, Raiden is more determined than ever to help her accomplish her goals. When she has no place to stay, he offers her his spare room. Will they be able to refrain from mixing business with pleasure? Or will that plan and her vengeance go up in flames?

“Beautiful Mistakes” is about two broken people believing that love is not in the cards for them; neither have healed from their scars- all of which show on their skin. They find healing, trust, and so much more in each other that they haven’t experienced before.

“Beautiful Mistakes” is not a “quick” read or “light” reading material. While it is approximately 375 pages, it is incredibly descriptive in its world-building, event description, and the thoughts of the characters. We are seeing/experiencing the events of the story as the characters do, each chapter includes the perspective of the character moments before an event occurs that ended the previous chapter. While it has its fair share of darkness, it can be a reminder that none of us are beyond redemption, healing, hope, and love.

ARC REVIEW

"The world I'm about to create will be built on the ruins of everything we've known."

Lucrezia Castiglione has been cast aside by her Mafia family. From childhood until now, she has endured more than enough pain to last a lifetime. But she's back for revenge and seeking out Raiden Drake for muscle.

"So let me make this clear, not just to you, but to every man who’s ever tried to break a woman’s spirit: we are not yours. We never were, and we never will be.”

I loved this book from the very start. Cora Kent is hilarious. I love how we're being drug into this scenario of Lucrezia seeking revenge on her family (one of her brothers, specifically), and it's serious. Right? But then there were lots of humorous conversations between her and Raiden sprinkled throughout the book, and you caught yourself chuckling.

I really enjoyed her writing style. She's descriptive, but it's not complicated like "world building."

The spicy scenes were *chef's kiss* 🤌🏻 and just enough. Not so much that it overpowered the book and not so little that it left you wanting. It was perfection!

Now for the not-so-perfect parts....
I was confused about the timeline of things. One minute, they're meeting, and the next minute, it's 2 weeks later, but she doesn't say that right away. It's just randomly placed in there. It threw me off enough to mention it but not complain.
I was also confused about the relationships between some of the family members. I feel like Cora is insinuating that the half-brother and Lucrezia had a one night stand or something and I started thinking that the older brother was secretly her dad because of him being 19 years older and he was the one who signed papers to ship her off to a convent. During one conversation, "sister" was italicized, which made me think that he was trying to say she wasn't actually his sister. I don't know if I'm totally misunderstanding these situations or not, but it definitely left me confused and with questions.

This book does have an HEA and is definitely NOT a slow burn. Which worked for me because sometimes I just want the characters to get straight to the good stuff. Haha.

If you're looking for an easy read, a fast-paced Mafia/motorcycle romance, some smut, and some giggles, this is the book for you! Highly recommend!

Beneath His Mercy by Nikki Blake

⭐ 4/5 Stars | 🌶️ 3/5 Spice
If you’ve ever fantasized about a brooding, ruthless Russian enforcer who could kill a man with his bare hands and still make you weak in the knees—congratulations, Stepan Belov is about to ruin your life in the best way possible.

This book throws us straight into the gritty, high-stakes world of the Bratva, where Amara Volkov, a woman born into privilege but shackled by her father’s sins, finds herself under the watchful (and intense) protection of Stepan, the Bratva’s most feared enforcer. And let’s be clear—Stepan doesn’t do protection the way normal bodyguards do. Nope. His version comes with dominance, control, and a “touch her and die” mentality that is both terrifying and deeply attractive.

Spice Level: 3/5

There’s tension so thick you could slice it with a Bratva-issued knife. The spice? Oh, it’s there. Stepan doesn’t ask for control—he takes it, and Amara? She might fight it, but let’s be real, she doesn’t stand a chance. Their chemistry is a delicious mix of I hate you and I want you to ruin me, but it leans more toward smoldering rather than full-blown filth.

Triggers & Dark Themes

Listen, if you want a sweet mafia romance—keep walking. This book is unapologetically dark, featuring:
• Violence & Bratva Politics: Bloodshed, betrayal, and Stepan being really good at his job (his job being murder).
• Power Imbalances: Amara is trapped in a world she never asked for, and Stepan is not exactly a “gentle protector.”
• Trauma & Emotional Warfare: Let’s just say Amara’s past isn’t sunshine and rainbows, and neither is Stepan’s.

Overall Rating: 4/5
• Plot: 4/5 (Fast-paced, tension-filled, and full of mafia drama)
• Characters: 4.5/5 (Stepan is a menacing dreamboat, and Amara is tough despite her circumstances)
• Spice: 3/5 (It’s hot, but not that hot—more teasing, less outright filth)
• Writing: 4/5 (Smooth, immersive, and deliciously dark)

Final Thoughts

Beneath His Mercy is perfect for readers who love their romance served dark, their heroes morally bankrupt, and their heroines fighting for survival. Stepan is a possessive, dangerous antihero, and Amara is caught in his web—whether she likes it or not. If you want a book that will leave you breathless, frustrated (in all the ways), and possibly rethinking your life choices—this one’s for you.

Just don’t expect it to play nice.

From the ashes, a phoenix rises... and her name is Lucrezia.

Beautiful Mistakes give you:
*Motorcycle Club Crossover
*Heroine Challenges Hero
*Touch her and Die
*Age Gap
*Protective Hero
*Mafia Princess

Lucrezia returns stateside after being exiled to a convent in Italy for the last 5 years.
What her brother understood her behaviour to be that of a spoilt brat who needed to be taught a lesson, was really her trying to cope with the abuse, rape and trauma of living with their awful father.

She was cast aside; disposed of; left in the hands of abusive nuns who felt that they could beat her into submission and good behaviour.

Lucrezia is now 21 years old and is hungry for revenge. She enlists the help of Raiden, a older man who is an enforcer for The Destroyers MC. If you've read Saverio and Lucia's story, you may remember him and Priest.

Raiden has his own demons, and as such has built a fortress around his heart; refusing to commit to women in a relationship that went beyond two days. He has never met anyone that calls to him - not until Lucrezia storms into their club house, demanding and commanding his help.
She is a formidable woman, who walks with confidence and defiance. She is headstrong and committed to her cause. She too is not looking for anything other than taking down her brother's empire. She wants to see it engulfed in flames and burnt to the ground.

Raiden and Lucrezia can deny the attraction that is so electrically charged when they are near each other. They also can't deny that they are exactly what the other needs: they are each other's hope for love and healing.

Without giving too much away, there is a critical incident that will propel them to the realization of what they truly feel about the other. The plot twist is so good!

This story features dark themes, steamy, toe curling scenes and may have content that could be triggering for some readers. Please review the TW/CW prior to starting this book. Each book in The Twisted Sisters Series can be read as a standalone, however I recommend following the author's recommended reading order.

I received a free ARC of this book and this review is only my opinion.

BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES is the first full-length instalment in Cora Kent’s contemporary, adult TWISTED SISTERS dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Destroyers MC enforcer Raiden Drake, and Lucrezia Castiglione’s story line. There is a prequel novella TWISTED TRUTHS that reveals some of the individual background and earlier years of Raiden and Lucrezia.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Lucrezia and Raiden) BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES follows in the wake of the return of Lucrezia Castiglione. In her teens, Lucrezia suffered at the hands of her now-deceased father, and his men, then upon his death, was banished by her brother where she would spend five years under the tyranny and abuse of the Italian nuns. Fast forward to present day, Lucrezia is determined to destroy her brother Saverio Castiglione, and is hoping to enlist the help of Raiden Drake and the Destroyers, as well as the only siblings with whom she is on speaking terms but all is not as it appears to be, and Lucrezia will once again suffer at the hands of those she longed to trust.

The world building focuses on the building relationship between Lucrezia and Raiden, a relationship predicated upon mutual hatred for our heroine’s brother. Plans are to be made and implemented in the hopes of taking down a man who has destroyed too many lives.

The relationship between Lucrezia and Raiden is a reciprocal arrangement, one in which each will ‘benefit’ from their physical affair but Raiden doesn’t do relationships, having loved and lost, and in this Lucrezia know their time together will come to a close. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are questionable and charismatic. We are introduced to Lucrezia’s siblings Saverio, Daniela, and half-brother Kristopher, as well as members of the Destroyers MC: club Presidents Priest Whittaker, Bash, Trigger and Vic.

BEAUTIFUL MISTAKES is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, corruption and abuse, acceptance and love. The premise is dramatic, dark and edgy; the romance is spicy and provocative; the characters rebellious, hostile and determined.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and Lucrezia Castiglione is the embodiment of that rage.

As the scorned woman rising like a phoenix from the ashes, Lucrezia's quest for revenge against her brothers is nothing short of electrifying. Her goal is clear: dismantle the Castiglione legacy and kill Saverio as revenge for the way she was mistreated in the past and left to fend for herself in exile. With the help of Raiden Drake, the gruff but fiercely loyal MC biker, her sister Daniella, and her half-brother Kristoph, she descents on her journey for vengeance and healing.

“I’m here, I love you, and I won’t let anyone hurt you again.”

This new Twisted Sisters series is another installment in Cora Kent’s intricate dark romance universe. Girl, at this point I’m practically begging for a family tree to keep up with all the intertwined relationships. But it’s the complexity of this tangled web of love, lies, and unhinged craziness that makes this universe so addictive. You feel deeply connected to every character, invested in the nuance of each bond and betrayal.

The romance between Lucrezia and Raiden is grumpy x sunshine at its finest. Their chemistry is undeniable, truly fire and heat wrapped in vulnerability. Lucrezia’s underlying need for warmth and love is beautifully met by Raiden’s steady protectiveness. He sees her as the light in his world, grounding her with his quiet strength and being the voice of reason in the chaos surrounding them. Their soft moments together, where his concern shines through and her walls begin to crack, are what make this story truly shine.

“I’ve fallen. Hard and fast and without a safety net.”

One of the standout elements of Beautiful Mistakes is how it plays with morally gray characters. Even knowing Saverio’s story from previous book and understanding that he isn’t inherently evil, you can’t help but root for Lucrezia to find healing, even if it means setting the world on fire to do it.

It’s a story about finding light in the darkness, healing through love, and exacting justice where it’s due. I’m already eagerly anticipating the next twisted chapter in this world!

Many thanks to the author for an ARC of Beautiful Mistakes. This is my third ARC with Kent and I’m absolutely loving her growth and evolution as a writer. This is the gritty, pro-woman mafia romance I’ve been craving!

Beautiful Mistakes follows Lucrezia Castiglione, the black sheep sister of the Castiglione Family. We witnessed her erratic behavior and her failed arranged marriage to Dante Terlizzi in Ruthless Sinner. We learned she was sent away to live in a convent in Italy by her brother, Saverio, in Wicked Desires. Now she’s back and she’s ready to exact her revenge with the help of Raiden Drake; the power of his motorcycle club, the Destroyers; her sister Daniela and their half brother Kristofer.

Lucrezia’s arc in this book is immensely gratifying. She has been beaten down, literally and figuratively, her entire life. Her father fed her to his henchmen, her siblings turned a blind eye, and she has been beaten mercilessly by nuns. In the early scenes I felt Lucrezia was immature, perhaps stuck in a state of arrested development while trying to whip up a deliciously sinister revenge plot. As she grows and her plotting ultimately fails, you can sense a slight shift, a maturation, in her thoughts and actions.

I was also pleased to get to know Raiden Drake better. Drake was introduced early but has been largely removed from the Family drama that has been unfolding. He has a tragic past full of loss, violence, and closing himself off to others, leaving him perfectly poised to be blindsided by Lucrazia and her scorched earth POV.

I felt Raiden’s perspective was a bit repetitive and probably could have been edited to suit his character a little better. He repeats sentiment about unlikely alliances, holding his tongue, and more several times throughout the story which resulted in some of his inner monologues feeling a bit bloated and overwritten. He wasn’t a particularly complex character, but this left room for Lucrezia to really shine. Although, I will admit that, for me, the final chapter in this story sealed the deal with Raiden. He’s a perfect match for Lucrezia and many men out there could take notes about how to love a woman.
