Distance makes the heart grow fonder—especially when your admirer is a serial killer.
Detective Marissa Ambrose survived three days of torture by a serial killer, but two years later, her integrity and sanity are being called into question while her personal life is breaking apart at the seams.
After a phone call from her deceased partner’s wife, Marissa finds herself trying to unravel the cold case he left behind. Meanwhile, the serial killer she could never catch is getting ever closer…
Another great addition to a fantastic series. I’ve said previously that Marissa is one of the most relatable main characters I’ve ever read and that feeling has only grown. She’s a character of many layers and I love her!
I feel like her PTSD and anxiety issues aren’t as big a part of this book as the previous two, which I think is due to her relationships with Agent Mackenzie and Kate, which I’m loving seeing developing, but as always her stalker is still out there, taking photos.
Book 3 throws in some additional family drama/problems into the mix with the introduction of some new characters also. The only minor thing I would’ve liked was a little more focus on an investigation, there is a cold case from her former partner that she looks into but the other story aspects took on more importance. That minor negative wasn’t enough to stop this being another 5 star read…. That cliffhanger though, I need the next instalment asap!!
This series just keeps getting better and better. I’ve been on the edge of my seat. I have so many theories that just keep evolving the more the series goes on. I’ve had one main suspect who’s still on the list but now I’ve added another suspect. The cliffhangers ughhhh I need more
Marissa Ambrose Witness Series: IMPLICATIONS & REGRETS, #3 - Heavy stuff going on. Good additional story lines and character behaviors added to the mix. The best of the trio so far and the saga continues. Source: Booksprout. 4*
SECRETS & PHOTOGRAPHS, #1 - A difficult start to this book with so much redundancies about her mental instability and PTSD. But the story did finally get interesting and the pace quicken half way through the story, which made the last part seemed rushed. There was a lot going on but not in the same detail as given to her history. Good characters and the story lines were interesting. Too much vulgar language, but clean otherwise. The foundation story line continues into the next book but there are no cliffhangers. Source: The author. 4*
MEMORIES & SCARS, #2 - Started this book right after the first and I was pleasantly surprised at how much better this was compared to S&P. Picks about six weeks later with a new case, new problems in many areas and less emphasis on Rissa's mental and philosophical woes. Good pacing, interesting and immersing with both the old and new story lines. The ending may be a bit of a cliffhanger, but the old story line continues. Source: BookSprout. 4*
This is book 3 of Marissa Ambrose Witness Series. This book continues from the other books. As the past murderer keeps coming in her present time, things has gotten even more stressed for Marissa. Family drama, relationship drama and exes. This book has it all as trying to solve the murders. I look forward to reading more from this series to see what happens with Marissa and Mac.

After reading the previous two books I was a bit skeptical that the story would continue at the same pace as the others, but I needn't have worried. It is another rollercoaster and a sense of anticipation how the lives of the characters will end. I have enjoyed all of these books as the author has a good balance of descriptive v let your mind wander. I feel completely enthralled and look forward to Book 4?
This is the third book in the series and I’m still hooked. I am totally invested in the characters and can’t wait for books four and five to get the answers to this mystery. This is well written and the author really knows how to get you to feel the emotions of the characters.
