Ren: A Christmas Novel

Rate this book
Ren needs a miracle this Christmas.

Ren has never fully understood the value of friendship, especially with his lifelong friend Sadie. But when the charming newcomer Ethan arrives in town, Ren is suddenly confronted with emotions he’s not ready for.

Enter Arthur, a guardian angel in training tasked to help Ren understand true friendship. Arthur is more comfortable tending to heavenly gardens than dealing with human emotions. But this final test to earn his wings will teach him that human connections are messier—and more beautiful—than he ever imagined.

As Christmas brings Benton Falls to life, Ren must face his fears and open his heart.

Meanwhile, Arthur experiences his own transformation, learning to embrace the human imperfections he once disdained.

In this heartwarming tale, bestselling author Erica Penrod shows that true love and friendship are the greatest holiday miracles.

This Christmas Clean & Wholesome Romance is charming. Rueben, a guardian angel in training, is assigned to help Ren Michaels realize the spirit of friendship. It seems he has allowed his friendship with Sadie Jameson, the town librarian, to become limiting. But fear is a great motivator. When Ethan Parker moves to town with plans to open a bookstore, his interest quickly falls on Sadie, much to Ren's dismay.

Deep-seated fears from childhood trauma, compounded by the lack of appropriate communication, play a significant role in this story. When the main couple is alone, the dynamics are stellar. Whenever the well-meaning objector appears, the protagonist withdraws into internal turmoil (appropriate behavior for his trope). Nevertheless, the protagonist overcomes his fears with the help of angelic advice. The end is heartwarming.

Entertaining. Funny. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Witty. Wonderful characters.

Beautiful

This lovely story about the importance of friendship and developing friendships and deepening. Our friendships was heart-touching. I really enjoyed the interactions between Arthur and Ren as he tried to give him advice. I love that! Sadie had been waiting for Ren to be ready to move on in their relationship.
