It gets a 4 not because it's good, but because it's a must-read to understand SEM. It's a must-read because it's published by AACRAO and consists of chapters by all of the big names. Overall, it is a clear and sparkling display of the kind of mediocre thoughts that seem so profound to the archetypal captains of erudition Veblen critiqued.
