I was interested in reading “Hounded, the second book by Patti Walsh because I previously read the first book by this author called “Ghost Girl “ and I really enjoyed reading it.
Reading the book “Hounded “I immediately noticed the connection between contemporary times and the Irish mythology.
I believe that this book is a great read for anyone, especially for teenagers. As a grandmother of two teenagers I recommended both of them to read it because it is a very enjoyable and educational book at the same time. This book teaches how to stand for yourself overcoming lots of challenges.
There’s also a lot of wisdom and humor in this book. This book is full of valuable life lessons including the notion and power of friendship, the importance of discipline and understanding the relationship between ancestors.
Celtic mythology and traditional martial arts make the book “Hounded “ by Patti Walsh especially interesting and unique.
I recommend reading this book because of its content full of action and beautiful descriptive language.

I received a free review copy of the author’s novel titled Hounded.

Hounded is the perfect sequel to the author’s novel, Ghost Girl.
Hounded is the magical coming-of-age story of a teenage boy named Colin. The journey begins when Colin makes a tragic mistake and is sent away to live with a mysterious aunt. Despite their differences the pair develop a mystical bond and with his aunt’s unfathomable guidance, Colin matures into a powerful young man.
As I read the developing story, I identified with the struggles and fears Colin endured. I felt myself cheering him on as he trained to fight his nemesis. Hounded is a heartwarming story that shows dignity in confrontation and illustrates how a young man can experience victory without arrogance.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Colin and the other characters in Hounded and I would recommend the book to readers of all ages.

Irish Martial Arts - who knew? HOUNDED is an engaging read. The red herrings are clever, the plot twists are truly surprising and the climax is breathtaking. I hope HOUNDED will soon be offered as an audio book. There are enough Irish language words and phrases, complete with pronunciation guides and a glossary, to provide an introductory lesson in Bataireacht.

But sounding out the words, or even stopping to find the pronunciation online, does not compare with my delight in hearing a story - especially one so steeped in a culture unfamiliar to me.

It was a privilege to receive an free advanced review copy. Author Patti M. Walsh is a compelling storyteller and HOUNDED delivered.

Irish legends save another troubled kid.
Tony gets in trouble and sent off to the safety of a great aunt in the same small town where Ghost Girl got her problems sorted (Bonnie's in this one too). Eccentric Alba has had premonitions of further trouble and begins training him, now called Colin to help him stay hidden, in Irish martial arts. He isn't thrilled by her ideas, but their relationship grows...nice story, good for middle grade kids
Lots of lessons about ethics and discipline.
