Devyn Quinn lives in the scenic Southwest, though she has called several other states home. She is a huge fan of dark gothic music & shoot-’em-up action movies. But reading is her first love and Devyn spends too much time with history books, as well as feeding her addiction for celebrity biographies. She especially enjoys reading books on Hollywood before the 1960′s and is crazy about Marilyn Monroe, her legend and her myth.

Has also written under AKAs:

Jeya Jenson

From website:

I started out writing paranormal romance under a few pen names that didn’t get very far in the publishing world. Later on, after years of not writing, I debuted in small press and used the name of Caitlyn McKenna. My first releases were Echoes of Angels (later re-released as The Keeper of Eternity) and Descent of Demons (later re-released as The Price of Eternity). When I began writing erotic romance, I wrote under the name of Jeya Jenson for several epublishers/small presses such as Ellora’s Cave, Extasy Books and others. Later, I was offered a contract by a NY publishing house, and neither pen name was acceptable to the editor. After batting some names around, I became Devyn Quinn. Several of my Jeya Jenson titles also made the jump to print, such as Flesh and the Devil (Kensington Aphrodisia), Before Night Falls (now published as Sins of the Flesh, Kensington Aphrodisia) and Sins of Flesh (now published as Sins of the Night, Kensington Aphrodisia).

At this time I write solely under the name of Devyn Quinn and will continue to do so in

This anthology was all about men/women in law enforcement, which is usually right up my alley. While this book wasn't 'terrible', it just didn't do all that much for me. And while the love scenes were somewhat steamy, I've read steamier. I think it was suffering from 'anthology-itis'--potentially good stories that aren't fully developed due to constraints on story length. I find it hard to really get emotionally attached to characters when I'm not given a whole lot of background on them, and it takes a very talented writer to come up with a decent plot and 'sell it' in less than 100 pages. I think The Hard Way by Devyn Quinn and Cuffed Heat by Delta Dupree would have worked much better as full scale novels--in both of these books I felt like I was plopped down in the middle of the story without really knowing (or caring) much about the H/H. So I'm reluctant to even rate them.

However, Saturday Night Special by Myla Jackson actually worked for me. The plot was rather simple (and kind of silly), but I really liked the characters, so that made it a fun, sexy read.

The story takes place in Hawaii, with the police investigating a series of three murders in three days involving male strippers. It seems there's a woman (dubbed the 'Black Widow') going around seducing and then murdering (with cyanide laced drinks) these hunk-alicious strippers. After much teasing by his fellow officers, police officer Mano Kekehuna is tapped to go undercover (as a stripper) to stop this madwoman. (Mano's got dancing experience--he took hula lessons as a child!) The police have little to go on, except for the strand of long red hair they find near one of the murdered stripper's body. So our boy Mano is on the lookout for a femme fatale in the audience with long red hair while he puts on a show in his black G-string...As he fights off the advances of his adoring horny public, one woman catches his eye--a rather shy, innocent acting but gorgeous, curvy woman in a black dress--and bingo, she has long red hair! Has he found the 'Black Widow' already?

Minnesota librarian Rachel Grant is in Honolulu for her sister's upcoming wedding. Little sis would like an exotic, built, stripper for her bachelorette party, and she assigns the reluctant Rachel the task of finding one for her. When Rachel visits the Man, Oh Man! Male Strip Club and sees The Big Kahuna (yes, that's his stage name) perform...oh sister, he's the one!

What follows is a sometimes comical, but often steamy set of circumstances as Rachel tries to hire Mano (without actually telling him for what), and Mano trying to get Rachel to make a move on him so they can nab who he thinks might be the Black Widow. Of course along the way Mano realizes that innocent but lusty Rachel is not the Black Widow, but that doesn't stop them from having some rollicking good times between the sheets. And then Mano and Rachel develop some feelings for each other, but the real Black Widow comes between them...well, I'll say no more.

I know it sounds a bit 'fluffy', but I thought it was well done, with some funny dialogue and some very likable characters. With about 100 more pages it would have made a good Harlequin 'Blaze'. And it had a rather believable, sweet, feel-good HEA. I liked it, and I'll look for more from Ms. Jackson. 4 stars for this one, 3 for the others, which combines for about 3.33 stars.

The Hard Way by Devyn Quinn
Undercover cop Drew Hardage has steamy kinky relationship with the Mara Luce, girlfriend and essential associate of vicious mobster Clement Zinetti. Hot scenes but plot is a little unbelievable.

Saturday Night Special by Myla Jackson
Undercover police officer uses dancing ability to go undercover at strip club, picked up by woman who's looking for a dancer for her sister's bachlorette party as he tries to pinpoint the Black Widow killer who is killing a series of strippers. Enjoyable and sizzling story.

Cuffed Heat by Delta Dupree
Undercover cop Raegen Crosby and fellow officer Thaine McDuff in an urban tale. Story is a bit disjointed.

There are 3 stories on this book and only 1 of them really worked for me. The other two the writing just wasn't my cup of tea.

My favorite and in my opinion the best was Myla Jackson's SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL. You just can't go wrong with a hot Hawaiian man out to catch a killer.

The stories were fun and the sex hot. I realize that in the short novella format that character and plot development are sacrificed, but these stories were way under developed. A lot of things did not make sense. But, all that said, the stories were good and I used them as a break before I started another longer, intense book. I did not read them straight through, but read them over a period of a month.

My favorite was "Saturday Night Special".
