MEMORIES BECOME THE MOST DANGEROUS WEAPON WHEN YOU CAN'T TRUST YOUR OWN.
Willow Harper has been charged with the brutal murder of her friends. But confined to Bordeaux Behavioral Hospital with no recollection of that tragic night, she is left questioning her own innocence.
Public defender Donovan Thomas takes on her case, determined to get to the truth. But Willow's convenient amnesia raises more questions than answers. Why can't she recall any details? And why does it seem like she's hiding something? But to comprehend Willow's unstable grip on reality means confronting the cracks in his own past.
Weaving between Willow’s fractured recollections and the gaps in his own memory, Donovan enters a battle to distinguish guilt from innocence when the line between memory and manipulation begin to blur.
In this nail-biting psychological thriller, only by facing your most terrifying memories can you survive when someone tries to rewrite your reality.
Asylum tropes are truly my favorite and it warms my black heart seen it written so well. I was alarmed at first to see that unlike the previous books this one was lengthy coming out with over 400 pages. I went in skeptical about how much detail and the amount of time the author spent getting to the point when the stories prior were such quick reads. Imagine the impression left on me when I devoured this story in just 2 days. I don’t often find myself in and out of a story like that in respect of the author choosing to take their time building up to the climax but that’s not what this was. The story was face paced, it had so much character dialogue which I love. I crave getting acquainted to a story through the interactions of the characters. It had the right amount of twist and turns and so much suspense. I appreciate the level of detail the author put into the story allowing for the setting to be visionary to the reader.
We are back in Bordeaux navigating through the creepy and distasteful insane shenanigans of the local asylum. If you are within miles of this hospital you can absolutely guarantee death and mayhem. Here we have another set of hard headed locals completely aware of the hospitals reputation and yet cannot seem to maintain some distance.
Loved it and looking forward to reading the next one.
This was so worth the wait! I stayed up late to finish it, I could not put it down. So when is book 5 and 6 coming out? LOL, you knew that question was coming Ms. Larue! Keep these stories coming! The twist and ending was most definitely a mind game!
The title of this book is quite fitting. The story is so well-written that I felt as if I were right there with the characters on their journey, almost like watching a TV show. The twist at the end completely caught me off guard, and I can't wait to read book four.
WOW! Im loving this crazy ride! We learn more about the town and those involved with the twisted asylum. You have to invest in this series!!
The secrets and lies just keep going deeper! One thing is certain; once you go in, you will never truly escape Bordeaux Behavioral Hospital!
A birthday surprise goes wrong. Willow can’t remember anything and her lawyer Donovan is determined to help her. However, the team at Bordeaux will be more than glad to offer their services!
I absolutely loved the plot in this book. The story takes this asylum to another level of sinister! The characters have me yelling at them! 😜 These people need to run far away from Bordeaux! Mind blowing entertainment! Running to the next book!
First, I want to emphasize: READ BOOKS 1 AND 2. If you skip those, you'll likely be confused by some references in this book.
This book was a great read, and I absolutely loved how everything flowed just like the previous ones regarding how people ended up in the facility. That said, this is not a replica. Although the plot starts similarly, it does not end the same way. I often say I’m a Gemini— you never know which side of me you’ll get if you rub me the wrong way. If I ever receive a necklace with an "A" charm, oh boy, I know something isn’t right.
See why people don't like doctors and hospitals!?!?!
The Asylum series has yet to let me down, and this addition was no exception! From the moment Willow woke up covered in blood with no recollection of the night before, I felt sorry for her and frustrated on her behalf. I felt like I was reading a puzzle and desperately trying to put the pieces together. But once the whole puzzle came together, it was NOT what I was expecting. This was definitely an entertaining whodunit. I recommend this to all the girlies who love thrillers and mysteries.
When Donovan is hired to be a public defender to a young lady who is accused of killing 3 of her high school friends on the grounds of Bordeaux Behavioral Hospital, he knew it was going to be a tough case, he just didn't know how tough until he met her. Having dealings with the Corrine Francois in the past, he never imagined the amount of power she possessed in the small town of Bordeaux, but he would soon find out. This book had my attention from the very first page, and the twister at the end caught me completely by surprise. I really enjoyed this book
Well that was psychotically exciting! It's 7:00 in the morning and I need a drink! One thing about this author, she's going to write it well and hold you in suspense the entire time! Her vivd descriptions of the experiments literally made me cringe and my stomach twist. Please don't mess with my eyes! Interesting twist at the end that I wasn't expecting and I'm normally pretty good at detecting the twists. Now on to book four to find out what's going to happen to this journalist. But first, I'm going to need a Valium.
Toni Larue doesn’t miss! The first book was fire, but this book was full of so many twists and turns, I’m at a loss for words. I literally dropped my jaw and had to have Alexa re-read to me what the hell I just read at the final twist. This has been the best book I’ve read in a long time. If you love thrillers mixed with horror, give this whole series a try. I can’t wait to start book 4 of this series!
This is a MUST read! The story starts off strong and immediately grabs your attention. It's a true page-turner, making it hard to put down. With countless twists and turns, it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. The author surprised me AGAIN with an unexpected ending that completely changed the way I saw the story. Just when I thought I understood where the plot was heading, a sudden twist shifted everything, adding depth and complexity to the narrative!
You will be invested from the beginning wondering, "What in the world just happened, and why?" This was a very good read with an unexpected twist. I really enjoy the way Toni Larue writes from the perspective of both the suspects and detectives in her books. I also like the fact that her plots typically have an ongoing investigation. I will continue to read books from this author. I grew up watching Whodunnits.
From the beginning of this story, I was trying to figure out what happened. We get fed little pieces that have you looking in all directions, knowing something isn't right but not quite what. Armed with thy knowledge that Bordeaux is no good, it HAS to all point to them. But...... I had no idea! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is the best mystery I've read in a long time. The author was very descriptive when it came to people, places and things. The story had purpose and imagination, propelling the reader to continue reading. This is a great escape read during a time of chaos and confusion. Highly recommended to any reader looking to escape for a few hours.
The story is everything I didn't know I needed. At first I didn't think a story over 300 pages would keep my attention. This one had me from chapter one. The series is amazing. The characters draw you in. Making you want to ride through the city just for a glance at the facility.
How are you gonna end it just like that! So many unanswered questions even tho I prob know the answer. When is this place going to get shut down! You can’t trust no one in that damn town! Book 4 here I come !
This was an amazing continuation in the asylum series! It was so real and detailed it left me totally upset at the author for the plot twists that occurred as if I really knew the characters! This author never disappoints!
