Clarence, a cattle rancher from Nebraska, was used to the quiet life—early mornings, stubborn livestock, and the occasional thunderstorm. But when he’s forcibly pulled into a magical world on the brink of collapse, his dreams of settling down on his newly inherited ranch are shattered.
Now Clarence has been thrust into a fractured world and cursed with necromantic powers—the one type of magic guaranteed to get him executed on sight. Here, magic is everything. The mages sit comfortably at the top of the magical food chain, their path to power littered with the bodies of the now extinct necromancers.
Desperate to hide his true nature, Clarence swears off the more gruesome side of his new powers, turning to greener pastures. Determined to make the best out of a bad situation, Clarence starts to attempt to rebuild his life posing as a druid. But between meddling mages, a frustrating inability to talk to women, and his ever-growing dread that the ranching life will never be his, Clarence has his hands full.
