Jacque Duffy has written ten and illustrated eleven children’s books. Seven in one series. This self-published series was sought by the Queensland State Government and placed into schools and libraries. One was also utilised by mental health groups as a counselling tool for children made homeless after numerous natural disasters in Australia and New Zealand. It has now been digitized by the Queensland Education Department for special needs children. Standalone books, The Bear Said Please published by Wombat books in 2014 and her 2015 self-published picture book ANZAC-The Story of a Little Goat are used in National Curriculum Grammar Strategies books alongside books by Mem Fox, Jackie French, Jeannie Baker and Narelle Oliver.
Jacque’s illustrative style is flexible and ranges from traditional to concept. She works in all mediums from watercolour to oil, to digital. She believes each story project deserves to be illustrated in a style which enhances without distracting. Her ‘fine’ artwork has won major awards and is in galleries and private collections around the world. She is an active member of SCBWI and various writing and illustrating organisations in Australia and Internationally. She is heavily involved in the literary and arts communities, attends and presents at conferences, festivals, television and radio interviews, and conducts workshops.
