3.5 stars overall - definitely a 4 for the last of the three stories!!
I've got to be honest, story 1 was average for me, story 2 was worse but then the third story had this scrumptious little scene at a hotel as she's pressed hard against a window, high above the city...
Fuck me! Lovely little half an hour read!
This writer has great potential my advice would be to get away from shorts and write a much more erotic, deep, hot, passionate read – go for it! I think you can blow us all away!

Karia’s luke warm musings…3-4 Star review.
I was really looking forward to new sexy anthology of “sizzling-hot romances”…but I was left a bit off. I don’t know if it was my mood or the writing or both. The words were a combination of first person and someone telling me what they want the character to be saying, if they were in the story (if that makes any sense at all). I didn’t like Lauren (heroine in the first story), so perhaps that also set me off a bit. She was shallow and rude to Court, who is just a really nice guy who found her attractive for some reason. Just because you are attracted to someone and you think they aren’t into you, gives you know right to treat them badly. On that point alone, I would have ditched her. Then the second story was the weirdest intro to a ménage I have ever read…”because you cheated on me and I never used my free pass…well now I am…” Ummmm, weird. But the three of them seemed to like it and the end was left very open. The third story was the best in the whole book. I would have started off the book with this one to draw the reader in. Nikki is a modest woman who is learning to become her real self. At 26, she is starting to present herself more at work and deciding who and what she really wants to be in life. I loved her and Hunter together. They were sizzling!

Nothing too deep. If you would like a book with a few short stories that involve relationships mainly based on sex then this is a good one for you. Definitely hot at times.

** The Intern **
Lauren’s love life is lacking and in the small town where she has her practice the pickings are slim. When Courtney shows up to intern, she expected to find a young female med student... instead she found ‘Court’ a young-hot and very male, med student.
I was not a big fan of this story. Lauren was far too immature for her age and the way she acted. Far too many games and far too bitchy of a character. I focused so much on disliking her that I could barely take in anything else about the story.
**My Doctor, My Husband, and Me.**
Valerie finds herself very attracted to her surgeon and what better way to act on that attraction then to see if her husband would be willing to let her live out her fantasy. When Valarie and her husband allow the sexy doctor to join them in the bedroom a simple arrangement begins and looks like this threesome might just have some staying power.
This was a steamy little read. Although the lines are clearly blurred, it appears that a third person added to this relationship isn’t going to ruin her marriage. I enjoyed this one but part of me wished that the two men would have stepped up their game and experimented a bit with each other.
**Seize the Doctor**
Nikki gets the shock of her life when the hot guy from the club shows up while her feet are up in stirrups. Yep the sexy man is her gyno. But Nikki isn’t about to let him play doctor just yet. When she can’t seem to stop thinking about him, she gives in and decides to take a chance. And although he never got to examine her as a patient... maybe he’ll be able to give her the appointment of her life as her lover.
These were okay stories. With a theme like this, I wanted something a bit more taboo. I also had struggled with the wording used. I get that our bits are called vagina and penis... but that is not sexy. There are times when you can use those words and they work – but when you are trying to work up a steamy scene, saying things like he put his penis into her vagina is like a cold shower. As a whole this three-part short is roughly a 2.5 overall.

In The Doctor is In anthology you find three novellas with doctors as one of the main characters. They are all erotica novellas, in which the female character find or rediscover her sensual side. These tales present the females journey and not necessarily a HEA type of romance. Yes, they are happily ever after at the end of the book, but not because they have found their own true love, but because they have learned how to love themselves above all.

The first story is The Intern, which is my least favorite of the three. I had a hard time connecting with the heroine, and I guess I'm all about characters. Even though I didn't like the heroine much, I've enjoy the concept of her journey of self-discovery.

The second story, My doctor, my husband and me, is my favorite of three. Even though the plot doesn't seem very realistic for me, I've enjoyed their encounter and the idea behind it all. There are some pretty hot scenes at this one.

You MAY read this book because you enjoy anthologies; you SHOULD read this book because you are looking for some erotic read; but you MUST read this book to have some fun time "playing doctor"!

What Allure does well here is though they are all tied to a central theme, each story is very different. The first is a tale of redemption and pain. A hurt and betrayed older woman whose only outlet in life is her work. She is re-awaken by the desire of a younger man and in doing so, learns to see herself anew. The second one is just fun. Sexual experimentation between a threesome that come to care for one another as much as desire each other. The third is about trust and love after a break-up.
Allure makes each of these situations plausible and doesnt hold back at all on the heat. Though in the first story it took a long time to get to that part. Once there, she explored it with wild abandon.
A good soft erotic treat for those who appreciate romance with their erotica.

It just wasn't for me. I find the writing amateurish and the characters act like they're 12. Plus most of the dialogue and the sex scenes made me cringe. :/

The emphasis here is on sex, not plot, and not characterization. So if that’s what you’re in the mood for it’s a great read. If you’re looking for a book like War and Peace or Fried Green Tomatoes – look elsewhere.
That said, the common thread of the three stories is ‘medical professionals’ – although the AMA might have something to say about their fairly unprofessional behaviors. But this is fantasy sex, not real life! So if you ever wanted to play doctor with the real thing, these stories may be for you.
The first story, The Intern, stars a female doctor who’s been deeply injured by divorce. When the hot young intern comes on to her it soothes her battered self-esteem and rejuvenates her interest in sex – at least sex with him… This was not my favorite story, it felt more like therapy than romance.
Got ménage fantasies? My Doctor, My Husband and Me is your story. It’s MFM, the guys aren’t in to each other. It’s heroine Valerie is who is at the center of their fun. Definitely steamy and there’s a slight ‘maybe’ on this not being just a one-time fling. Again, the heroine is older – no teenage ingénues here.
In Seize the Doctor, heroine Nikki is in for her yearly gyn exam and finds the new doctor is the guy she met at a bar earlier. Personally? Pelvic exams are not my finest hour. The thought of dealing with sexual vibes at that time? Just EWWWW! But that’s me. The author made the fantasy work and some of the banter is very cute.
Overall? The shortness of the stories and the emphasis on the sexual interludes limits character building and plot development. Still it’s a good, light, read-once. I will give the author another try on a full-length novel.

This book was smoking Hot!
This is a 3 part erotica novel with the theme of medical professionals. Being a nurse I can say I loved this theme because there are a lot of hot doctors and interns out there that you can't help but fantasize about.
I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review. In my opinion this book has something for every erotica romance novel lover. Although at times I missed my happy endings at the end of one of the stories I still felt like it was a great read.
I loved the first two stories and while the third one was good as well it did not have the scorching hot flames that the first two stories had. I felt as though the first story brought you into the appeal of the older woman, the second brought you the more the merrier and the third brought you a proper Miss who wants to walk on the wild side.
The Intern= Dr. Lauren Marks's needs all the help she can get to run her medical practice after her husband leaves her high and dry. Courtney needs a summer internship to get the experience he needs to help him decide just what kind of doctor he wants to be. Seize the Doctor= Nikki is ready to step into a new chapter in her life. After meeting a cute guy in the club that she felt could be the one, she completely get's turned off by his loser friends. She cant help but be upset that he is involved in their childish games. Thinking she would never see him again, she is completely taken by surprise when the door to her exam room opens up and the Cutie from the club walks in!
All three stories were great. Good job Kate Allure, I would definitely recommend this book. It has enough heat to keep you warm on these cold winter nights!
This is a 3 part erotica novel with the theme of medical professionals. Being a nurse I can say I loved this theme because there are a lot of hot doctors and interns out there that you can't help but fantasize about.
I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley for my honest review. In my opinion this book has something for every erotica romance novel lover. Although at times I missed my happy endings at the end of one of the stories I still felt like it was a great read.
I loved the first two stories and while the third one was good as well it did not have the scorching hot flames that the first two stories had. I felt as though the first story brought you into the appeal of the older woman, the second brought you the more the merrier and the third brought you a proper Miss who wants to walk on the wild side.

In the Playing Doctor Anthology you will find 3 erotic novellas where the central theme is 'falling' for a doctor. Be it the intern who falls for his boss, the married patient who's allowed to explore her fantasy of a threesome with her doctor or the heartbroken woman who although she enjoys her Doctor lover still has issues with committing to him.
The Intern is about an older, recently divorced woman who decides to explore her sensuality when she finds herself attracted to her new office intern. I admit that this was my least favorite of the stories simply because I could not connect with Lauren. It was obvious that these two had chemistry but their connection was lacking, something that it's a must for me even in an erotic read such as this one.
My Doctor, My Husband, and Me was a fun read with interesting characters. Valerie partakes in her fantasy of a threesome. I enjoyed the camaraderie between the three participants and the heat they brought to the page. I think I liked it better than the first one because the characters' interactions never felt forced. This convinced me that they had some sort of connection which ultimately helped to further my enjoyment of the story.

But when she meets her sexy Doctor at a bar, she can't help but feel the sparks between them. Although a short read, I think this story had the right mix of elements. I found overall, my favorite out of the stories was the third story in the bunch- Seize the Doctor- It is about Nikki, who is coming out of a bad relationship where she was treated terribly by her ex-boyfriend. She ends up at a bar and she meets a great guy. There was some minor tiff at the club so she leaves. She ends up meeting him another time when she goes in for a GYN exam and she cant leave this time-since the guy-Hunter, is her new GYN DR giving her the exam. Loved this story- It has the romance and the sex all combined into one.
The other stories ( The Intern & My Doctor, My Husband & Me) didn’t have much of the romance element which is why I didn’t enjoy them as much.
I do recommend this book because it will get your engines revving. It is food for thought- Awesome read for when you are in bed or when you are alone and need something to read (wink)

This last story was my favorite and had the steamiest scences.
With that said this was more your average love story with added sex scenes yet nothing to kinky. There are three stories, each has its own appeal. The first story is a lonely doctor who gets a sexy summer intern. Let's just say she gets more than she bargains for. This came in second for me. Honestly not much to say for this one. The first story that I read was the Intern and I just couldn't get past how immature the main characters were. And one of them was supposedly the older woman and yet the childhood games were just annoying! And it only went downhill from there.

I received a free copy of Playing Doctor through the Goodreads Giveaways (a long time ago) in exchange for an honest review.
I never got around to reading this book, but since smut is so publicly popular I decided to give it a read. And how disappointing it was. I DNF'd after reading the first novella (The Intern). I understood the basic characters and fast pace because it is a short story, but then it took 66 pages (2/3rds of the story) for anything steamy, but that even came across very rushed and passionless. To top it off, the ending of the story was rushed, the fling ended, and conveniently a new hot vet shows up and solves all the problems (no vet in town, no hot singles around the main characters age).
While writing this, I did decide the start reading the second story (My Doctor, My Husband, and Me) and I just couldn't. 2024 is the year of DNFing books that I don't want to read anymore, no reason to push through for the sake of it.

This is a fun collection of stories about women and the men they meet when doing other things. One woman doctor hooks up with her much younger employee while he is interning at her office for the summer. The second woman and her husband hook up with her doctor after she has had some foot surgery. The third woman meets a doctor at a bar and he turns out to be working at her gynocologist's office and the newest doctor.
All 3 stories are qucik reads.

This book was just ok. The first story was ok. The second story was eh. And the third story was good. I enjoyed the last one cause it was the only one that actually had a plot. It actually had a storyline and an ending.

This three book series was a good read. Each story was believable and interesting. I liked them all. I feel that the author was rushing to tell each story that is why I gave it three stars. The stories themselves was entertaining each in their one way.

AUTHOR DEBUT -- 3 novella anthology, approximately 60 - 100 pages each.
THE INTERN -
Approximately 100 pages. Lauren is a mid-thirties, divorced general practitioner. Her ex-husband left her with the practice and all the bills. She gratefully allowed a buy-in partnership to alleviate some of the financial stress & now is taking on an intern as a favor to an old college friend. Only she doesn't realize that she's a he & he's smokin' hot! But she's way too old for a young Adonis like him, isn't she?
Courtney "Court" applies for a summer internship to determine if this is truly the path he wants to follow before he enrolls into med school. He's attracted to his new boss in ways that he'd never imagined, but what chance does a kid have with an experienced woman?
A fun, quick story with humorous moments. The cast of characters were unique and enjoyable. Dialogue and interaction was great. The plot was fairly simple as many novella with not a lot of dynamics, but it flowed well nonetheless. The conflict gets thrown out and the results are fairly hot (but a little clinical). There was no predictability. The ending read like it was "wrapped up", I was left feeling a bit confused and short-changed. Not your typical conclusion.

MY DOCTOR, MY HUSBAND AND ME -
Approximately 65 pages. Valerie needs surgery on her foot to correct an old injury that did not heal properly and has been bothering her. She been married to Elliott for eighteen years and they have two teen children together. The marriage has not been without it's faults, but they are happy. But now that she's seen her doctor, she's fantasizing of more.
Luka is the specialist that will perform her surgery. He's handsome with a swoon-worthy bedside manner and hot, silky Eastern European accent. He's attracted to her, but she's his patient. Her wedding band hasn't gone unnoticed either.
A proposal is made at her final appointment... an erotic proposal, a proposal she can only hope Elliott will go along with.
Lead female and her husband are in their early to mid-forties, the doctor about mid-thirties so they are a little older than typical characters. Characters are good, dialogue and interaction believable. The plot is thin, but flows smoothly. The sexual descriptions are sort of blunt and clinical; it does not come off as hot or erotic. There's not a lot of conflict, no predictability. Again, the ending is written as if it's a wrap, but you are left feeling cheated...

SEIZE THE DOCTOR-
Approximately 75 pages. Earlier in the week, Nikki broke up with her boyfriend of a year after he'd cheated on her. Now her friends convince her to go out to the club with them to forget the jerk.
Hunter's celebrating with his friend when he meets Nikki. After spending over an hour getting to know one another, her friends see his friends playing a numbers game (collecting girls' phone numbers) and call the night off, dismissing the man-whore douches and their ridiculous "I'm a doctor." lines.
Little did they realize...
Lead characters are great, seconds are good. Humorous and fun dialogue. The sex scene(s) is/are a bit funny with the over-exuberant commentary and jerking pole terminology, but at least it's less clinical than the previous novellas were. Enjoyable, light plot with an easy flow. There was a mild conflict that was quickly resolved. Virtually no predictability. The conclusion was the most solid and satisfying of the three novellas. I enjoyed this one most.

I just needed something that was fun and sexy to read. Unfortunately, this was not for me. There were way too many exclamation points used throughout the novel and the characters all spoke in a way that felt childish and scripted despite them ranging from late twenties to forties.

Playing Doctor is the first in the anthology series Meeting Men from Kate Allure which all detail sexual encounters with men . This anthology revolves around doctors and not just a drawn out scene. There is a plot and storyline with these stories and individually they could be about novella length if you wanted to pick and chose to read a particular story or two.
The first of the stories is The Intern which plays on the cougar theme that seems to be popular these days. Our heroine can’t seem to get the new intern at her practice out of her head and starting to get jealous. She got the mentality that she an older woman, he wouldn’t be interested in her for goodness sake and she just got out of a marriage. However the intern feels the same way and this explores the summer of the intern working at her practice and Lauren regaining her life as a single woman. Lauren thought seemed at times the less mature person in the relationship as her thoughts almost seemed of a younger woman they way she acted when she was jealous. It a fun summer romance with a surprise ending.
The second story is reawakening for all involved. In My Doctor, My Husband Valerie wants the spice back in her marriage and approaches her doctor to help. She attractive to him and wants to fulfil a fantasy she had when she was younger . Her husband and her were more adventurous when they were younger she wants to recapture that and get the good doctor out of the system. This story is hottest out of the collection heat wise.
The final story Seize the Doctor fit more the mould of what the anthology hinted at with the title Playing Doctor and this one also offered a glimpse of what seemed potentially a HEA forever. Nikki isn’t looking for love, she just got out of her relationship with unfaithful boyfriend and is looking just for fun. A chance encounter with a hot guy at a club leaves her disappointed as the guy isn’t up front what his real motive for chatting her up. Nikki leaves the encounter at a lost chance and everything is fine. Until fate intervenes and the hot guy is her new doctor and he was about do her yearly exam. Thrown in some hot new lingerie and you got an embarrassed Nikki and makes of a fun story. The hot doctor gets his second chance and he decides to take the chance and live out some fantasies.
This was probably my favourite out of the collection, the stories worked together to fit he general brief of playing with the doctor. However if you want to go specific meaning, then I would choose Seize the Doctor. These aren’t full out erotica so if you are expecting a steam fest with the scenes, chose the second story My Doctor, My Husband as that the closest you are going to get to full steam. It is a fun anthology and a change from stories that more heavy on the erotic sense.
