Ivy

It was one night of toe-curling sex. One night I needed to erase from my memory.

But, like everything else in my life, it has come back to cause chaos.

Now, we were working together since his company bought out mine, and he immediately resents me. No, it’s way worse than that. He is undermining me at every turn.

I can ignore his undeniable looks and forget the way my body hummed under his.

I would not let him ruin this opportunity. I had too much riding on this outcome.

The gloves are off, and it’s war.

Lucian

A one-night stand had come back to haunt me.

Proving to the great Connor Diamond that I could take over the family business was one thing, but now my unforgettable night was staring me in the face.

She was poison, running deep in my veins, awakening me with a blend of frustration and desire, making her impossible to forget.

If she thinks she can take my job, she has underestimated me.

Two can play this game.

Let the games begin.

Missy is an Australian author who writes kissing books with equal parts angst and steam. She loves writing stories about billionaires, enemies to lovers, and the boy next door- just to name a few.

When she’s not writing, she’s taking care of her two daughters and doting husband.

Inspired by the acreage she lives on, Missy regularly distracts herself by visiting her orchard… some days more often than writing!

Then there’s her overweight cat, Charlie, chickens, and bees if she needed another excuse to pass the time.

And, when the day ends, there’s nothing better than unwinding with a gin and tonic as the sunsets surrounded by the ones she loves.

"Fireworks. They exploded in my head, every color of the rainbow, filling my body with searing heat. If this was all wrong, why did it feel so good?"

Another hit from Missy Walker! Enemies to lovers at its finest 👌 Lucien Diamond, who is a lot like his father in his partying and not wanting to take over for his father (Connor Diamond 😍) gets thrown into learning the ropes with Ivy, woman he believes targeted him at a wedding before the company she worked for was bought up by the Diamonds. Their chemistry, pull to one another, and mutual dislike are wonderfully written!

Series: Sensual Games - Elite Heirs of Manhattan #5

Synopsis
MMC Lucian is the only single person left from his friends/cousins group. He is also the heir apparent of a billion dollar media company. His father gave him a vice president position after buying out a smaller company and wants him to lead the integration.

These books can be read as standalones but in the prior book, he was a groomsman at his cousin’s wedding and in this book, we learn that he had an amazing one night stand. When he begins his new position and leads the kickoff meeting, he sees her.

FMC Ivy was raised by a single mother and lived in poverty. She worked her way through scholarships and rose the corporate ranks. She is the most senior member from the buyout.

Lucian and Ivy immediately recognize each other. Lucian thinks she slept with him on purpose and is out to steal his position. Ivy thinks he is an immature rich kid who doesn’t deserve his position, especially since she worked so hard to get to where she is. They hate each other but their memories of that steamy one night stand linger…

Review
This is a standalone but you can get a better picture if you read the entire series, which is a spin off of Elite Men of Manhattan. The Elite Heirs are the children of the Elite Men. For 213 pages (ebook), there are an ideal amount of spicy scenes.

Ivy is strong, determined, and driven. Lucian struggles with living in his father’s shadow and criticism. They get pretty vindictive and it gets infuriating to read because of their mutual misunderstanding. But that’s the point, good storytelling is supposed to elicit emotion and it makes it all the sweeter and steamier when they transition to lovers.

When Connor Diamond's highly successful media corporation acquires the failing Jones Media, he decides that it is time for his playboy son Lucian to grow up and finally take on a role within the family business.
He names the very reluctant Lucian as vice president of the new digital division. And decides that Ivy St James, former vice president of the now defunct Jones Media, will help watch over Lucian in his new role - "a babysitter to make sure he doesn't blow up anything".

Everything hinges on Ivy succeeding in her new role as Lucian's 'guide' - her mother is relying on her, as are all of her coworkers brought over from Jones Media. Ivy hopes to make their transition to Diamond Media Corporation as smooth as possible.
Ivy is excellent at her job, the only thing getting the way of Ivy achieving her goals - Lucian himself. He's decided that Ivy wants his job and decides to sabotage her efforts.

Not the best way to start a romance, but it certainly makes for entertaining reading.
The chemistry between Ivy and Lucian is sizzling - although initially he is one nasty little boy, including nicknaming her 'Poison'.
I really wanted to smack Lucian over the head with a newspaper - the sign of a great story that has really pulled you in.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lucian and Ivy's story. I love books where characters grow and learn, and this is definitely full of that. Add in plenty of spicey spice and a fantastic female lead character, and you have a great addition to the Elite Heirs of Manhattan series.
These books are best read in order, to get the full history of all the characters and maximum delectation.

I received an advance copy of this book, in return for an honest review.

Sensual Games delivers a sizzling, emotional ride that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Missy Walker expertly weaves a tale of opposites colliding with Lucian, the spoiled and self-centered heir, meeting his match in Ivy, the poised and hardworking vice president who embodies grace and determination.

Lucian’s initial arrogance and reckless lifestyle make him a character you love to hate—but watching his transformation is deeply satisfying. Ivy, in contrast, is a breath of fresh air. Her strong moral compass and dedication to her staff make her not just admirable but relatable, grounding the story with her steady presence.

The tension between them crackles with chemistry as their relationship evolves. Lucian’s journey from entitled playboy to someone worthy of Ivy’s love feels authentic and rewarding. The emotional stakes are high, and the moments of vulnerability between the two are both tender and electrifying.

Walker’s writing is engaging and sensual, with just the right mix of romance and drama. If you’ve been waiting to see Lucian humbled and redeemed, this book does not disappoint. It’s a story about love changing people for the better—and it’s impossible to put down.

Highly recommended for fans of slow-burn romance with characters who grow in unexpected and delightful ways.

Lucian Diamond is the only child of Connor and Pepper Diamond, and dear Dad has decided he needs to step up, and prepare to take over the family business. Connor has recently acquired Jones Media and this has included their staff, but imagine Lucian's surprise to find that one of those "staff members" is the one he hooked up with at a family wedding a few weeks back, Ivy.

Ivy and Lucian had quite the connection at the time, but now with Dad telling Lucian that Ivy is here to teach him, guide him into the role he has been "gifted" that immediately gets Lucian's hackles up. Makes him wonder, did she know and did she use him!

Ivy is equally surprised. She was aware that Jones Media had been bought, but not by whom, and never did she expect to be working alongside Lucian. Because of how Lucian feels, he sets out to undermine Ivy, behaving like the spoiled child. Ivy has alot going on, ALOT, and cannot believe the man she had a passionate evening with could behave the way Lucian is. Ivy is strong, and she is having NONE of his games.......well not all of them. They cannot deny that attraction that is still there. As always Missy's books are easy to read, with the right amount of spice to hit the spot.

Well I have to say, I was a tad disappointed in Lucian’s story. I think I had high expectations because of Connor who was my fave hunkhole lol but it just didn’t hit me the way I wanted it to.

Firstly I did love Ivy, I was cheering for her each time she gave it back to Lucian. I didn’t like that he was trying to ruin her, probably because I knew her side before he did lol but she was amazing, hard working, soo caring. I love someone who is dedicated to their family and also friends.

I was soo sad that Connor had turned out to be exactly like his own father, I would have expected him to understand or even relate to Lucian, it took him far to long to come around for my liking.

Lucian, well what can I say, he was a douche lol a very hot douche, hot smutted, douche😂 but as he started to realise his true feelings & see the picture from both sides then I seen the beautiful person he could be. Willing to put his woman’s needs before his own, helping her mum, helping their work colleagues, he did get me in the end lol

Not my fave out of the Elite Heirs, I think that was Evan & Valentina but I still love them all regardless! And I love you Missy!! Xx

Sensual Games was an enjoyable read, though I have mixed feelings about it. While there were parts I really loved, there were also aspects that left me frustrated.

Lucian, as the heir, didn’t quite win me over. While I appreciated the way he fell for Ivy, some of his actions and internal conflicts were a bit irritating. On the other hand, Ivy was a breath of fresh air—caring, passionate, and relatable. Her quick wit and sharp responses to Lucian’s antics kept things engaging. The sexual tension and chemistry between them were definitely the standout elements of the story.

I was particularly disappointed with Connor’s reaction to Lucian and Ivy’s relationship. He seemed to embody everything he had once despised in his own father, which was hard to stomach. That said, I was glad to see his character evolve and change by the end.

Overall, the book is well-written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While I found myself more drawn to the other heirs’ storylines, I would still highly recommend this book for fans of the genre!

⭐⭐⭐.5 pretty good! there were enjoyable parts and decent chemistry, but it lacked that extra spark to make it really memorable.
🌶️🌶️: mild spice, around 2 to 4 scenes, still tame sex scenes with a slight touch of kink and still romance focused

ivy thought one night with lucian was over, but now they’re forced to work together after his company buys hers. sparks fly, tension mounts, and every look and touch threatens to unravel the carefully built walls between them. lucian isn’t about to let her steal what’s his, and ivy won’t let him ruin her chance, turning their professional rivalry into a high-stakes game of desire and power.

i didn’t know i needed lucien diamond is charming, a little reckless, and has that slow burn pull with ivy that had me hooked from the first page their chemistry was great and they had great banter but nothing compares to missing love for me. this book is fun and perfectly flirty and steamy.

tropes: one night stand, enemies to lovers, workplace romance, forced proximity, only one bed

Missy Walker books are always a must for me because her books always makes me cry, laugh, and swoon. Missy Walker delivers yet again with the fifth book of the Elite Heirs of Manhattan series, Sensual Games! The story begins with Lucian Diamond being expected to take his rightful place in the Diamond Media Corporation which he’s already not excited about, but is thrown even more of a curveball when he realizes that the woman training him is Ivy St. James, his recent one night stand that he thought he’d never see again! It’s got all my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one-night stand, and office romance! My favorite part of this book (besides all the spice) is definitely Ivy. Her quiet and graceful strength in the face of the adversity is quite beautiful to witness throughout the book. I enjoyed it so much that I read it in one day. If you’re looking for a cozy book that will definitely heat up your winter days, get your hands on this book!

5 stars – Sensual Games by Missy Walker follows the story of Lucian and Ivy. Lucian is an only child and heir apparent to his father’s media empire. He is handed the Vice President title and a division to manage/consolidate as the company just purchased a smaller one that was just starting to turn around thanks to Ivy. Little does anyone know that Lucian and Ivy know each other intimately, as they had just had a one night stand a few weeks earlier at a wedding. Lucian thinks Ivy basically “stalked” him and Ivy can’t believe what a jerk he is being about the whole coincidence. Lucian and Ivy deal with their amazing chemistry and learn about each other both personally and professionally. Lucian matures and Ivy learns to open up and let others help her. Such a wonderful story of growth and spice!!

Tropes: one night stand, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and office romance.

A big thank you to Missy Walker for allowing me to read an ARC.

I swear I am not being biased but both Missy’s Elite Men and Elite Heirs series were all 5 star elite books! Although our FMC, Ivy and MMC, Lucian of this particular book were already acquainted with each other when the story began, the pacing was written so well that their development from enemies to lovers was captivating and alluring. The misunderstandings between them mixed with the banter made this another fun read! Moreover, Ivy’s dialogue on her dislike of Lucian in the first few chapters was just hilarious, it almost felt like a comedy book for a second.

When Lucian’s true character shone through, you cannot help but fall in love with him (talk about grand gestures) hehe.

On another note, despite that there’s still a novella to wrap everything up, I have grown quite attached to the characters of the Elite Heirs the same way I was with their parents and am sad that the series is coming to an end.

Would not hesitate to recommend Sensual Games to old and new Missy Walker readers!

I keep saying it, but every story Missy writes automatically turns to gold. As soon as I see a new book is out I ignore my entire TBR list and just have to read her book.

I was so curious about Lucian's story. He came across as a bit aloof in the other books. Like he didn't quite understand what it's like in the real world. And in that, I was right. Ivy has a way of getting through to him. But the road to it is full of bumps. Lucian (and Conner) get a big reality check and I am in love with Ivy because of the way she does it.

This book again had everything, lots of spice, a good story, strong characters and a great HEA! I can't wait for the last book, even though I'm also a little sad that I almost have to say goodbye to my favorite book families.

I read this in a binge in the day I’d received my ARC copy! I was drawn in right at the start and couldn’t put it down!! I loved the character relationship from the start! Ivys wit, sass and vulnerability and Lucians sheer shock at the situation he was in and all that hid under his confident facade!! The fact it was AFTER the event was just brilliant. Loved the plot, perfectly written and just the right amount of steam and angst! Thank you Missy for being so good at what you do, I can’t fault the book at all, it was so good!!! Having Connor the way he was in this book definitely got me after his story (was one of my faves from EOM) but I was so glad how it all worked out. I think these two may be my new fave from the series, no, hang on I can’t say that, I have loved them all!! lol!!

Wow great story. Loved it. Especially the banter.

After a one night stand, ivy never expected to see Lucian again, until the day he turns up as the new owner of her company.

The initial onset of the relationship is full of friction and spite. Ivy can't believe he has done it and at every turn he is undermining her. That gets her ire up and she doesn't let it go.

He falls for her first but the attraction is on both sides. The chemistry explosive and the dynamic compelling to say the least.

This book was something special as I'm not as fond of books like this but wow. This had me involved and interested from start to finish.

Fantastic writing and great characters. So good!!

What sets Sensual Games apart is its ability to balance raw sensuality with character development. Ivy and Lucian’s journey to overcome false assumptions, rivalry, jealousy and insecurities, after an initial encounter, is woven seamlessly into a scorching enemies-to-lovers romance. The tension between them is fierce, with each flirtation and challenge drawing them closer while testing their boundaries.

Missy Walker brings us along on another captivating and heart racing story that can be read within The Elite Heirs of Manhattan series, or as a standalone, that draws the reader in from the first chapter!

Since coming across Missy Walker's books on Facebook, I haven't looked back. This just as all before was a sensational read. I read this one while holidaying, while a friend only managed 1 chapter of a different book. She questioned what book I was reading at the moment as I hadn't put it down. I introduced her to Missy Walker and she was amazed at how much an easy and addictive read her stories are. This story demonstrates the love and chemistry between Ivy and Lucian. I love the spice and the characters.
Missy Walker's books are well written and provide an opportunity to continue on with the storyline in the next book. They have you wanting to come back again and again.

I’ve enjoyed all of Missy Walker’s books in this series and her writing is spot on!

Lucian Diamond is thrust into taking over the family business after his father acquires Jones Media, only to find that Ivy, the woman he hooked up with at a wedding, is now one of the new employees. Lucian is suspicious and determined to make her life difficult, while Ivy, caught off guard, won’t tolerate his behavior. Despite their tension, the chemistry between them is undeniable. Missy’s book delivers a great mix of attraction and spice.

When Lucian was handed the VP reins of the company he never wanted and found out his one night stand (that he still constantly thinks about) would be training him, he was less than pleased. In a sort of enemies to lovers battle, Lucian and Ivy fall for each other in the most amazing way. Lucian realizes the life he has been handed on a silver platter has left him out of touch with reality and Ivy has zero issue pointing that out to him. Ivy is quick witted and full of sass and doesn’t let Lucian walk all over her. It’s a great story and I really enjoyed it!!

Lucian was given the job of being the VP of a Company .He never wanted the company, find out his one night stand is to train him. Ivy and Lucian had a sensual part about each other. You saw in the story. They had to overcome jealousy, false assumptions, and insecurities. They learn that he not in touch with reality and she’s the one that can show him that. Watch and read on how they challenge each other and with all the flirtation will they be together

Sensual Games
The Heirs series finale! Sad for the Hunkholes and their Heirs to come to an end… but what a way to put a bow on it! Lucian and Ivy are AMAZING…. The story that Missy tells is one of real feeling… the quintessential “you make me want to be a better person” is 100% spot on while still delivering all of the angst, steam and love Missy is known for!! Loved it… every page, every word, every emotion, every feeling from beginning to end.

Lucian and Ivy have a one night stand after a wedding they both attended. Never expecting to see each other. Bit as fate would happen his company hits out the one she works at and she has to work with him be side of his father. She is more experienced and it makes him fear for his position in the company. They both are attacked to each other but she can’t cause any problems at work she needs the extra money so can they find a way to be together

Absolutely loved reading about Lucian and Ivy! It was such an amazing story with spice and heartfelt moments. To see the change in Lucian where he saw the employees as people was amazing, as was his choice to give up his spot if it meant Ivy keeping her job. I’m so thankful that they found their way to each other! And that Ivy’s mom got the care she truly deserved! Thanks for another amazing story Missy!
