The same principle is true for this book. This book is Good, but collecting this information from reputable recent article might be better for readers who are looking to find out about the latest tools in Web 2.0

The book offers a concise look at how blogs, wikis, social media and other tools can be used to engage students; it does not encourage the use of technology for technology's sake. A useful resource.
This is a good introductory gloss to web 2.0 tools to be used in education. I would use it as a tool to teach an undergraduate 200 level course in ed tech or for an introductory graduate level course.
For someone new to technology in the classroom, this is an easy to read, jam-packed text full of tools explained. If you want a paperless classroom, you need this book!
