I love Alexander McCall Smith’s writing. He picks you up and takes you on the most wonderful, informative, imaginative, creative, knowlegeable journey. His wisdom and stories are full of deep observation of people and their personalities and nuances. This story is about Katie whose Aunt runs an Introduction Agency, where men and women can arrange an interview and leave their information for a suitable match to meet. Katie’s Aunt has taken off to Canada for an extended holiday. She has asks Katie to look after the Agency for her. There is a neighbour William who is from Australia and works with wool and textiles and admires Kaffe Fasset’s work. William is also becoming known for his artwork, and has commissions. William has his studio next to Katie and they have coffee together most days. William starts to help Katie with the business and many interesting encounters arise.
Always enjoy Alexander McCall Smith. Enjoyable holiday read, plan to give the next one of the series a go. Interesting new characters in the classic Edinburgh setting.
