The sexual act is possibly the most potent--and pleasurable--gateway to the primordial and the divine. From the Tantric mysteries of Hinduism and Buddhism and the inner alchemy of Taoism, to the sacrament of the bridal chamber in Christianity--and, of course, the traditions of Western Magic and Witchcraft--sex pervades the highest and most secret teachings all over the world. In "Sex, Sorcery, and Spirit," Jason Miller draws upon his training in Eastern and Western mystery schools to produce a frank, comprehensive exploration of sexual sorcery and spirituality. In clear language, he will show you how to take your magic to the next level, teaching you: How to use the moment of orgasm as a gateway to the highest levels of spiritual attainment. The use of sexual elixirs in alchemy and practical sorcery. How to work with sexual spirits and gods. The dangers of sex magic and how to avoid them. A grimoire of sexual spells and rituals. This daring and tantalizing work throws open the doors into the realms of sexual magic that have been hidden behind secret orders and arcane terminology for far too long--until now.
Jason G. Miller, who also works as Inominandum, has devoted over 20 years to the study of witchcraft and magick in its many forms. He is a Sovereign of the Chthonic Ouranian Temple, and initiate of Ordo Templi Orientis, and a member of the Terra Sancta Sangreal Sodality, as well as an initiated Tantrika of the Nyingma and Bön lineages of Tibet. He writes regularly for the journal Behutet, and a frequent contributor to Witchvox, and Voice of the Old Ways.
The writing is clear, and provides a foundation rather than starting in the middle. However, I found myself wanting to fast forward to the good parts. Once I reached them, I realized that his sex magic was just a combination of taoist and tantric sex magic manifestation techniques that I was already familiar with. However, putting my hand on this book at least confirms that the solidity of what I do know. I am ready to search for more.
Jason Miller is a quite capable and as far as I can see, trustworthy author on a broad range of matters pertaining to the practical occult. With "Sex, Sorcery and Spirit" he underlines this reputation further, introducing to an important, but quite difficult topic. Many other people probably would crash the whole undertaking and I am not entirely sure, if this is to be talked about ritual- and practise-wise at all in public. But given the case, one could not really fare better, I imagine. Some of the practices in here are for solitary exercise anyway and detailed nicely enough to work with them. A lot essentially takes up pranayama practices as far as I can see, so that may be a line of further inquiry although the topics related to ritual sex are probably guarded in the inner courts of the resective temples and traditons - and with good reason.
Not necessarily a bad read, just really not what I was looking for. The gods references are all over the place, as if a pagan can choose a god(dess) simply to suit their needs. The author does acknowledge that the technique and rituals can be adapted, it just comes across in the writing a little strangely. There are a few parts of chapters that I found both helpful and intriguing. To the authors credit, he does state that one should adapt the rital and technique to ones own preference. Overall, to this somewhat seasoned practitioner, there wasn't a whole lot to be gleaned from the text, but what was useful will be worth investigating.
Every part of this book was amazing; I think I found my new favorite author. I like this author because of how real he is. There were topics in this book, the author didn’t agree with, but still spoke about them which I valued. I think everyone who practices, whether it’d be sex magic or not, should read this book. Knowledge can be taken and added to your practice and it doesn’t even have to be extreme, it can be very simple and mundane.
The author has a very relatable writing style. Small bits of humor made for a fun read. With such a touchy and controversial topic, I appreciate the author’s openness towards addressing serious issues that are inevitably involved in this work, and also the guidance on finding balance in such things. Overall great read.
Covers purifications, and inner heat practice among others. This book also covers a surprising amount of the content of his (very expensive!) course called Level Up. The book is better for explaining those parts that are duplicated.
Read this as part of my trauma recovery curriculum designed by ChatGPT. I laughed so hard when the author said “If a teacher tells you that you are his or hers from a former life, that he or she has been waiting for you, or any other kind of trip like that, leave.” 😭🤣💀💀💀😭😭😭
Good book to read, but I would never flip back through it for any kind of reference. Entertaining and maybe it will lead you into a different form of thinking about your inner prana.
