From Bitcoin's beginnings to the rise of DeFi, NFTs, and Web3 gaming, the authors structure each chapter with a main narrative, embedded side stories from industry entrepreneurs, and a summarization that distills key patterns and trends. This layered approach grounds the reader in both practical insights and industry-wide cycles, helping newcomers and experienced readers alike gain a balanced perspective.
In comparison, Chris Dixon’s Read Write Own is more philosophical, focused on how Web3 could overcome the systemic flaws of Web2 by fostering decentralized, financially sustainable networks. Dixon’s writing explores the ideological underpinnings of Web3’s potential, aiming to redeem the internet as a decentralized space. While his solo authorship brings a polished narrative, Lessons Learned adds value in its detailed historical narrative and practical guidance.
