Breathtaking by Bella Matthews : princess x football player, it's more a bonus scene than an actual story, but it makes sense since it's a teaser for an upcoming book. Anyway, 2⭐

Schoolgirl Spell by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

Schoolgirl Spell is a fun story about a nanny crushing on the father who is secretly crushing on the nanny. I was expecting a little more angst and spice from Keeland and Ward, though I did enjoy the halloween party setting.

Bodyguard

While The Bodyguard is barely a halloween story, it might be one the best story in the anthology. It’s significantly longer than the other stories, which helped with fleshing out the characters and plot.

There was a surprising amount of angst for so few pages. The plot was mildly confusing. If I was into biker romances, I would definitely check out this series.

Shadowed Secrets was boring until the final two chapters, but ended abruptly. It was more a teaser for the author’s work rather than a story.

Spellbound was super cute. Elliot was able to communicate a halloween whirlwind romance in just a few short chapters. I think of all the stories in the anthology, Spellbound would be best suited for a full length novel.

Breathtaking is a quick and dirty intro to Alessandra and Maddox’s novel publishing in 2025. I'm a sucker for club/dancing scenes. I might read this when it releases.

This was a very mixed bag for me, probably because the story were also vastly different. We go from biker stories to royals to sweet small towns (I was partial to the latter). In the end, I just wanted some quick stories for Halloween and while some were misses for me, I had fun with most of the stories 🦇

Ahhh I am so excited for Maddox’s full story! This tease was SO good!! Maddox is such a strong Brody man who needs a good woman in his life. I feel like Alex is going to be the perfect match to his fun crazy family. I already LOVE their connection!!! Hands down 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really only read the Bella Matthews one. Maddox is probably my favorite 2nd Gen character, so I'm biased and give it a 5 lol

I read the Rebecca Jenshak one, too, and give it a 4, maybe a 4.25.

Eventually, I'll read the P Rayne story after finishing the book for that couple.

The setting was a Halloween themed engagement party. The couple are a playground style enemies to lovers, he falls first. A quick and easy read.

Short story with an energetic 5/6 year old that steals the show.

Jess is in a rocky relationship right now, so she thought maybe she and her boyfriend could dress in a couples costume at her brother’s party. When she pulls him into a room and kisses him, he quickly tells her…it’s not him. He’s her brother’s teammate. The goalie.

Short and sweet story. One bedroom scene after another year together. I wanted more from this one.

Brock has the hots for his client Cassidy Ward who is 10 years younger and he can’t act on it. Until during a Halloween party at the Estate he gets her out of a bad situation and is asked to stay with her.

Ugh, Brock was so hesitant because of his past and the scene in the bar just made me dislike him more.

The FMC has three names, Everleigh, Evie and Lee. The beginning seemed all over the place, I didn’t know if they were in Tennessee or Texas and if they were with the mom/Darby or on their own.

Some scenes were chaotic and it took me a while to figure out who was there and what was going on.

Lee seemed sad about the relationship between her sister and the “dad”. It was mentioned several times. Kimmy was immature and always chose her dad over her sister, who saved her multiple times and took her in.

Caleb “Heckler” was very bossy and the MC always came first.

This was a short insta everything mess of sorts and had not much to do with Halloween.

This was a sweet older brother, age gap, holiday, he falls hard story.

Charlie and Sebastian had chemistry from the beginning. The added best friend drama helped with the plot. I’m glad that we got to read about some of the Halloween/Fall activities Charlie and Sebastian did and how much fun both had.

Great writing. I’ll have to check out more books by this author.

Love Spell by Kaylee Ryan is about a single dad, Wesley, and his son, Arlo, who's five years old. Sandra, Arlo's mom, and Wes never married but co-parented together. Sandra is married to Larry. Cody is Wesley's best friend; Cody has a younger sister, Heidi, whom Wesley has been crushing on for years. Heidi's best friend is Brielle, and Cody has been crushing on her forever. Shadowed Secrets by Piper Rayne is about a wealthy family of four brothers living in a haunted mansion. Asher and Anabelle, Nero and Cindee, Kol and Rapsody, Obsidian and Ariana. Each couple has their wing in the mansion, but it's the cellar where things get interesting.

Spellbound by Kelly Elliott is about Charlotte "Charlie" Fletcher and her best friend Lucy Griffin. Charlie's mom died when she was a child, and her father raised her by himself, running a fishing tour boat company. Her older sister left for college and has yet to return home. Lucy filled her sister's role perfectly until her junior year of high school when things changed. Lucy has three brothers, Sebastian, Gregory, and William, and they all notice how Lucy has been treating Charlie.

Midnight Halloween Rendezvous by Lacey Black is about Kylie, who is marrying Felix Stone, and her best friend Blake, who is throwing them an engagement Halloween party. Only Felix's brother Gunner is supposed to help out, and he shows up empty-handed but opens the door to the hired high school team to bring in the alcohol. Blake thinks Gunner doesn't like her when it's the complete opposite.

Breathtaking by Bella Matthews is an introduction to her newest release in 2025. In the country of Ellwyn, a royal family resides, and the matriarch, Queen, is the grandmother of four: Gabriella, Remington, Rhodes, and Alessandra. Alex and her best friend Willa are going out to celebrate the welcoming of American Football.

Very cute. I liked the characters. I appreciated how they all cared for each other and weren't afraid to tell each other that they were going to do what made them happy. The co-parenting relationship was very tasteful.

A Wild Halloween 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Rebecca Jenshak and her Wildcat series is one of my all time favorites. I would love for Mikey to get his own story but this one was perfect. A short and sweet, natural romance. I also appreciate that the epilogue and how their relationship progressed was a bit unordinary but realistic.

The Bodyguard 🎃🎃🎃
Pretty good bodyguard romance. I didn't love all the time jumps towards the end.

Hot Biker Neighbor 🎃🎃
This was confusing. I've read some of Tijan's books in the past and typically it does take time to fully digest what is happening. It was difficult to establish a solid plot in such a short story. I also don't know if I buy the main characters' instant connection that much.

Shadowed Secrets 🎃🎃
I think if I had read this series I might appreciate the story more. But there really wasn't anything going on. Yes it was a novella but really the only thing that happened could have been said in one chapter.

Very good! The perfect length. Elliott did a good job of building character backstories and relationships. I would have liked a better resolution with Lucy and Charlie at the end. I liked that Gregory and Sebastian were there for Charlie.

Midnight Halloween Rendezvous 🎃🎃🎃
Very cute. I think I could read a whole book of Gunnar being a simp for Blake, but this was a nice, quick read.

I love Bella Matthews and am working my way through her backlist so I know a bit about Maddox's family. I think if I did not, I would be a little confused. I also don't love that the novella ended in a TBC.

Short, sometimes spicy, halloween reads. Some a bit longer than others so you felt the characters were a bit more fleshed out. Good collection of authors to give you a taste of what their writing styles are like. Some give you the ending you want while others leave you wanting more. I liked some better than others but over a good selection of stories.

Schoolgirl Spell - Melody is a nanny for Ava and is crushing hard on her boss thinking there is no chance he would feel the same. With a Halloween party coming up costumes are on everyones minds. A certain someone dreaming of a naughty school girl costume might just get what they ask for. More so when they launch themselves at him for one hell of a kiss. Batman mix up with the mask. Seems this mixup is going to be a blessing if they both start talking about what they really want.

Love Spell - Halloween party planning needed stat for little Arlo’s birthday. Wesley and Cody are at a loss as to what to plan so help is called with Cody’s sister Heidi. Seems feelings have started for both and they need to spend a bit more time with each other to push them to the surface. Don’t think Cody would mind too much that his best friend is interested in his sister when he himself is crazy for Heidi’s best friend too. Fun mix of people that are clearly needing a push in the right direction to go for who they really want.

A Wild Halloween - A mistaken identity at a Halloween party turns out to be for the best. Seems Jess was hoping her ‘then’ boyfriend decided to dress in the couples costume for the party so pulled him into the bedroom all ready to show her appreciation. Mikey thought all his dreams were coming true when the beauty pulled him into the room. One kiss and he was almost a gonna but came to his senses when he realised she didn't know who he was. Blessing in disguise with what her actual boyfriend was up to. Seems her Halloween would get better with the right person all along.

The Bodyguard - When Cassidy's stalker gets too close for comfort she knows she needs to get away until he is caught. A private estate in Scotland is just the trick to unwind and regroup. Helps that her insanely hot bodyguard Brock is coming with her. What she wouldn't give for him to see her as a woman and not a job. Well wish soon to be granted when a masked ball is on the agenda. They may be masked but they could find each other blindfolded in the dark with the energy they have. But crossing the line will only cause heartache in the long run. Well unless a certain someone gets out of their own way to keep their woman safe for life that is.

Hot Biker Neighbour - What's a girl to do when a biker is reviving his engine at three in the morning. Go out to take his keys to turn the bike off and yell at him of course. Evie gets an eyeful when close enough to touch. One interaction and Caleb was ready was claim her as his own I think. Evie hold on for the ride because nothing with a biker will be simple where the Red Demons are concerned.

Shadowed Secrets - Helped that I've already read the series this links in with so knew who everyone was and what happens in the Manor on a certain night once a month. Kinky sex club anyone. For me felt like a bonus chapter checking back in with the first couple of the series Anabelle and Asher and what their journey will be next. Their story is a retelling of beauty and the beast.

Spellbound - A childhood crush on her best friends’ older brother. Not noticed until the time was right and they were much older. When he comes home for his sisters engagement party he can't take his eyes off Charlie. Bastian isn't interested in anything to do with Halloween and can't see why Charlie would like it so much. A bet is made, she has one month to get him to love Halloween. If he doesn't she has to go on a date with him and if he does then he has to cook for her for a month. Let the bet begin and fun commence, I’m seeing a lot more than one date on the horizon. Only thing is I would have liked was a bit more resolution with her so called best friend.

Midnight Halloween Rendezvous - Creating the perfect Halloween party for her friend with the help of said friends future brother in law. A man who likes nothing more than to push her buttons to get a reaction. We all know why he likes to rile her up. Can he be honest with himself and Blake to be able to go for what he wants? If the looks she gives him are anything to go by that should be a yes. Go get your girl Gunner, the one you've wanted from the moment you met.

Breathtaking - Leaves you wanting more that's for sure. A snippet into their lives away from the public eye where they could both pretend they were free to be who they wanted to be. Heated connection from the moment she spilled his drink down him. Wanting to have something that was just hers but reality came in to crush that. Wanting to know how this one plays out now with Alex and Maddox.

I really enjoyed reading love spell by Kaylee Ryan and love the single dad and best friends sister with Wesley and Heidi and five year old Arlo who wanted a Halloween birthday party and love that this was a quick, cozy Halloween read and love that Wesley has always liked Heidi Cody’s sister and Cody likes Heidi’s friend Brielle and I really like that Wesley and Sandra co parent even though they weren’t in love and I really like that Heidi and Sandra go along as well and love that Arlo was happy for his dad Wesley and Heidi being together and Heidi helped plan Arlo sixth birthday party and love that Arlo gets two birthday party’s from his parents and love the spicy scenes between Wesley and Heidi. And love Heidi’s friendship with Brielle in the book as well

This anthology was a mixed bag for me. On the whole some stories I would rate 4* and some only 3* but I am not going to list which ones I liked or did not like. My least favourite book was the biker romance which was confusing, it felt like the first three chapters of a book and the story ended abruptly. I did like the sports romance, the Royal romance (which also ends abruptly) and several others but many of the stories were only okay. Some fit the theme but some of the books were not really relevant for this anthology.

This was a great way to sample multiple authors and their writing styles at one time while also getting to read more of my favorite must read/buy authors like Rebecca and Bella without having to attempt to read a full book


I absolutely loved getting more from the Wildcats side characters, wishing this one could be a full book.

Maddox's story teaser was just that, a teasel the second I saw Maddox as the MMC I'm pretty sure I externally squealed I was so excited. it was such a delicious sampling that I cannot wait for the full book, its just too bad there's another 3 books before his

I liked the compilation of stories in this anthology. I have read most of the authors before and the Halloween theme throughout their stories was really nice. I liked the Kelly Elliott story the most, but the Tijan one was a close second. I am interested to see more of their characters. Worth my time to read this anthology.

This is a treat for romance readers. These are fun, sexy and entertaining stories set around Halloween. I will look for more romances from these authors because I enjoyed their characters and writing styles.

I love compilations like this one because they introduce me to amazing new authors. I enjoyed every short story in this book and will look for more stories from these writers, as their works give a tantalizing glimpse of what is to come. I am excited to read their full stories.

3.5 stars. I only read a handful of the stories from the authors I’m familiar with and they were cute. Sometimes I like a short story vs a whole novel. Fun, quick reads with a Halloween theme. The Samantha Young story was my favorite.

This was such a fun book. Everyone should take the time to read these stories. There were a couple that were not for me. But for the most part, this book introduced me to some new authors. They are a fun spin on Halloween stories.

A great collection of short stories with a Halloween theme, introducing some new authors that I will go on to read more from. A good amount of laughs combined with just the right amount of spice, and pumpkins of course 😜
