Four piggy-style fairy tales in mini-books bound right onto the pages!
It's bedtime, and Mother Pig is trying to get her little ones to go to sleep. What better way than to read them a bedtime story? The trouble is, they like the first one so much that they ask for more and more, begging her for "just one more story!" The stories Mother Pig reads to her children are hilarious piggy-style retellings of favorite fairy tales in real mini-books bound right onto the pages throughout the book. These porcine reimaginings are sure to make little ones laugh out loud. They include: "The Pig Prince," "The Ugly Pigling" "Piggerella," and "The Prince and the Porker." The perfect bedtime read-aloud, Just One More Story offers five delightfully funny tales in one book--enough for even the most wide-awake little pig...or child!

Me and my son have read this book so many times I almost know it by heart. I absolutely love this book it’s multiple story’s wrapped up in one the story is a mother pig reading about 5 books to he piglets. After each book the ask just one more story. One of my favorite parts of this book is that it has each of the books that mother pig reads to her children in the book that you can flip through your self. They are miniature books through out the book telling the story the mother pig is reading to her piglets. This book has amazing illustrations and keep the kids entertained.
The piglets want just one more story, mama pig finally gives them what they want, one more story! This cute books gives a twist to classic tales by incorporating pigs in each of the stories, a must read for pig lovers and those that want a smile! Great book for presenting ideas.
This adorable story tells the tale of a mother pig who is trying to get her two piglets to fall asleep. They keep asking her to read just one more story, and soon she is telling them famous tales like Cinderella and the Ugly Duckling. However, in these tales, the characters have all been replaced by pigs! Cinderella is now Piggerella and the duckling is now a piggling. This book was one of the most unique children's books I have come across not only because the main characters are pigs, but also because of how the book is set up. For each story that the mother pig tells her piglets, there is an actual miniature picture book of that story for the audience to read. I loved the addition of the miniature books because it is like having five books in one! Children are able to not only enjoy the story of the mother pig and her piglets but also the timeless tales of Cinderella, The Ugly Duckling, and other classics. This would be a great bedtime story for the whole family to enjoy as well as a great resource for teachers who want to introduce classic stories to their students.
I thought this was a fantastic book to read. It's a book that retells famous fairy-tales with pigs as the characters, such as "Piggerlla" and "The Ugly Piggling". The mother pig is trying to get her two piglet sot go to sleep but they just keep asking for one more story. I love that there are actual mini picture books that go along with each of the rendered editions of the fairy-tales. Also I feel that this book brings up an important point of how when kids love a certain story they just want to hear it over and over again and I think that makes kids want to continue reading books. The pictures were great and because of the mini stories it will definitely keep readers interested.
I like this story because i feel like a lot of children can relate. When they love a story you have just read they want more or for you to re read it 10 more times. I know that when i read a bed time story my little brother always wants me to keep reading. It is also a cute story for bed time and i really enjoyed it. The pictures were great and the pigs told a great story! This age group would be early childhood. Preschool level.
This book does a great job highlighting how a good book can get children, or pigs, excited to read. Within each page there is a mini book that the piglets' mom reads to them. I found this to be a unique feature, however, I felt that because of the books within the book it kind of dragged on. Each of the mini books was a popular story we have all heard before (Cinderella, The Ugly Duckling, etc.) and it did not keep my interest.
This book starts and follows with a mother pig reading aloud bed time stories to her piglets, but each classic fairy tale is modified to have pigs as characters. I really thought the structure/layout with the smaller book on each page was truly unique. My personal favorite was 'The Ugly Pigling' that had his pig family find him the most handsome pig around. Overall, this was a cute fairy tale book a twist just like a pig's tail!
I wish this was still in print! Each book that mama pig reads to her babies, who are trying to delay bedtime with "just one more story", appears in miniature attached to the text. Clever!
