"I was thinking of some kind of initiation. Tailored just for her. The kind that will teach her a lesson not to mess with me."
--from We'll Never Tell

Shandra James is a man stealer. It's a sport to her, a game that she always wins. As a pledge of the exclusive Alpha Sigma Pi sorority, she should know her place, and know not to throw herself at a sister's boyfriend. But she's marked a new target: Henry Reid.

Henry's fiancée, Phoebe, and her sorority sisters, Miranda and Camille, decide to teach Shandra a lesson one night. A lesson that involves humiliation but nothing more. But unexpectedly the lesson turns deadly and the three women find themselves facing three new rules: Never mention what happened that night, protect each other, and tell no one. Yet when a murderer comes calling, they each discover that rules are meant to be broken. We'll Never Tell is Kayla Perrin's most provocative, suspenseful novel yet.

I totally forgot I had finished reading this book already (this past summer) but I never got around to doing my review.

What can I say about We'll Never Tell? It was a fun summer read. I have read Kayla Perrin novels before and I will say that I enjoyed her other books, The Delta Sisters and and The Sisters of Theta Phi Kappa, a little bit more. I guess partly because I understood the formula and I kind of knew what to expect, however, I guess I was more highly disappointed with the ending of We'll Never Tell than I was with the other two similarly themed novels. The ending just made no sense whatsoever, it wasn't logical, it didn't fit and honestly, I was mad by the time I got to the end. I do plan to read more Kayla Perrin and support her as a writer because I think she's a great young novelist who appeals to the college aged woman, to those women who like mysteries, and to those women who just want to good romantic read. Coincidentally, I also recently picked up A Holiday Surprise that features Perrin as one of three authors of a holiday themed novella.

3.7⭐️

The main characters were so annoying, I rolled my eyes several times and screamed at Phoebe a million times. I also feel like Phoebe was way too focused on keeping/having a man rather than healing and just being alone. Outside of that, this book was actually pretty good. I liked that I was actually reeling in my head about who could have done it and I was still wrong.

College-aged, romance suspense

What I like most about this story is that it takes place in Buffalo NY, specifically UB -- my hometown and grad school alma mater. I was most curious about how Black sorority life would be characterized. Overall, I felt like I was reading a Lifetime movie script. The protagonist was very naive and behaved a bit too unbelievably. I'm sure that her behavior was supposed to keep the reader in suspense, but the melodrama was overplayed.

This book was alot and I was angry the more I read it. The main character Phoebe was soooo annoying, and her engagement with Henry was a joke. Phoebe was dead set on blaming everyone for the problems she had with her cheating fiancé, except for her cheating fiancé. I didn’t like much about the book but I did not see the plot twist coming so I rated it 3 stars.

I would give this 3.5 stars. I have never met a more insufferable unlikable FMC! Phoebe made the dumbest decisions EVER in a book lol. She almost made Shandra likable, to how dumb and naive she was! The book is fast paced and the twist pretty good. I didn’t guess it. But Phoebe literally has no character growth whatsoever. By the end of the book she’s just as clueless.

This book gave a lifetime movie and idk if that’s a good thing lol. I definitely didn’t expect the ending at all, it was unrealistic tbh. However, this only got 3 stars because the main character was definitely pissing me off page after page. I was definitely yelling at her reading the book.

I swear, I do not ever, ever, ever want to be in love with a man the way Phoebe was sprung over Henry cause clearly when you are that blinded by love, you become dumb as hell. Phoebe might really be one of the most clueless characters I've ever read about and that's saying a lot cause I've read books by Frieda McFadden and pretty much all of her main female characters are straight stupid. Despite the stupidity, it was still a good book, nice and easy read and it kept me entertained.

A lot of the sexual language in this book was absolutely fucking hilarious.. It read like a cheesy romance novel. But luckily that was only a very small part of it, and I enjoyed the laugh. The story itself was quite riveting, I read the entire thing in the span of a few hours because I just couldn’t put it down! The ending was excellent. Loved it!

This book was definitely very entertaining. Slightly melodramatic and kind of reminded me of a teen slasher from the 90s. Girls worrying about who their man sleeping with while other ppl dying is just so unserious (complementary). Would definitely read another entry for this story though! The epilogue has me curious..

Welp, this book was terrible. Unclear if the writing, dialogue, or storyline was the worst part.

I don't even know what to do about this book. For the most part, I enjoyed reading it. It was entertaining but it had too many moments when things dragged on and I just wanted to get it over with. Not to mention that the entire time I wanted to slap the main character because she was just so pathetic and codependent. The sad thing is that there are actually people like her in the real world... the insecure, my-world-revolves-around-my-boyfriend and without him I am nothing, he can do no wrong (even though HE is SO WRONG) types. So it wasn't unrealistic just annoying which made it hard, at least for me, to relate to her in any way.

What I did like was the unfolding of the mystery and that main character Phoebe didn't just learn her lesson in the blink of an eye but actually progressed into a better more secure individual throughout the book. But just as I was growing to really love the novel she hits you with a "wtf?" ending that's more annoying than creative and sends me back to a mediocre 2 star rating. Read at the risk of wasting your time.

3.5/5⭐️ This book was extremely fast paced and although the characters were slightly annoying I enjoyed this book! The chapters were short, bit sometimes there were filler events to drag the book to about 309 pages when this book could have easily been about 200. Some scenes in the book were heard to read, but the concept of the book was interesting. Overall, a solid read to get you out of a slump!

Its a good book but it wasnt for me it was about a girl named Phoebe in college who wanted to give her sorority sister (Shandra) a piece if her mind for stealing her boyfriend/Fiancee (Henry) from her and she didnt really like it so her and other sisters was going to give Shandra a lesson when things turn bad.

Awesome!!

Kayla Perrin did her thing in this book. Great read. Phoebe thought she could trust the ones she loved and loved her but in this book she doesn't know who she can trust and believe.
Can't wait to read more from this author.

This book is annoying. The man character being so male centered and ditzy made her extremely unbearable. I could barely follow the plot twist the author kept throwing in and the ending made no sense.

Kept me guessing to the very end! This was a great story!! Devoured this story and it kept my attention from the first page. All the twists and turns kept me in suspense.

This is such a cautionary tale about how pride and ego can be your downfall when jealousy is involved. This is where self love comes into play and having boundaries. Henry gaslit the hell out of here and instead of taking a step back when his words and actions weren’t aligned, she dug in deeper to try to keep him because her entire life revolved around him. She stated multiple times that he was her life and that’s so scary!! We have to tell women that men can’t be your entire world when you’re in a relationship!! It can be exciting and fun, but it doesn’t have to be the only thing you have going on. She lost herself completely as many young women who are in her position who end up with life in prison because they wanted to get rid of the competition and not the man and it’s societies fault for pushing the rhetoric that you’re better than the next woman if you have a man, even if he isn’t treating you right. He was cheating on her with multiple women and then had the audacity to get mad at her for questioning him then never answered any of her questions. He was manipulating her and she had blinders on and could see him doing no wrong even when it was in her face like in the cafeteria or when he wouldn’t open the door to his room!

Phoebe... that's all I can say...lol

In "We'll Never Tell", author Kayla Perrin delves into the dark depths of peer pressure, toxic behavior, and the lengths some will go to protect their secrets. When Shandra makes a habit of seducing other sisters' boyfriends in her sorority, tensions boil over. Seeking vengeance against Shandra, Phoebe, Miranda and Camille decide on a humiliating prank that accidentally turns fatal.

Now bound by the three rules of never speaking of that night, protecting one another, and telling no one, the young women think they've gotten away with murder. But someone knows what really happened, and they aren't staying silent. Fear and paranoia spread as they turn on each other, unsure who they can trust.

Perrin delivers a twisty plot with complex, flawed characters finding themselves in over their heads. Readers will be torn between sympathizing with the protagonists and questioning their morals as the body count rises.

This book wasn't great, but it also wasn't terrible. Reading it felt like watching a melodramatic Lifetime movie.

Set on a college campus in Buffalo, New York, the story follow Phoebe as she tries to stop Sandra, a pledge of her sorority from coming on to her fiancé. Sandra ends up dead after an initiation ritual and everyone assumes it was Phoebe.

The pacing was good. It was definitely a page turner with quick chapters and scenes that go to the point.

I didn't have a favorite character, but the MC was my least favorite. She was so dramatic and kept. making dumb decisions throughout the story.

I wish we got more out of the characters' individual stories. It would have been nice to get to know them more.

The ending was unexpected but really good. The epilogue was extremely random and made no sense though.

Overall, this book is nice if you're in a slump and looking for a quick read.

This book was alright. I thought the book had a strong start and got straight to the plot line. I didn’t like the main character, Phoebe because she was naive and stupid. I thought there was way too much back and forth about who to trust and who not to trust. There was also too much he said, she said. Honestly, I found all the chapters to be annoying. I didn’t know see the ending coming. I didn’t have many guesses and prediction on who killed Shandra but I was wrong. The ending of the book didn’t make much sense, I thought the motivate was dumb. Overall, it was a quick read and it wasn’t horrible.

I think I had higher expectations of this book. I have read so many other books by Kayla Perrin and loved them and this just didn’t do it for me. It started off very slow for me and I just couldn’t get into it. But forced it anyway. Then the action came and as quick as it came it seemed like maybe too much at for, especially for how it ended. I had a feeling about the actual killer but the ending just didn’t make sense to me. If it was supposed to be a cliff hanger for another book, then okay maybe. But for now, it just doesn’t do it for me. The ending felt very rushed.

I think if I could I would rate this book 3.5/5 stars… it was cool… but it had too many characters to keep up with and I do not like that in a book! It makes it more tedious and confusing to keep up. And the whole sorority and fraternity thing I’m not too familiar with so I couldn’t resonate with it which made it a little uninteresting to follow. Had this not been a thriller I probably would have not finished it this soon either.

my second YA suspense book in a row and I loved it! it was a quick easy read, fast paced and engaging, and I gave a shit about the characters. I wish I had a group of girlfriends like this! also, that plot twist! did NOT see that coming! I read stories like this as like a palate cleanser between books that are a little more conflicting and deep. I would read another Kayla Perrin any time and am going to save the author for some future ebook reads!

Great read!!!

I absolutely enjoyed this book. It was a page turner and I stayed up all night reading it without going to sleep. The suspense had me guessing killers over and over and never did I get it right lol A great ending and not a drop off. It could end here or continue. Loved it!
