A sweet, very tame romance.

Heroine- 34 years old, widowed raising 2 boys has a very good job at a bank. She takes in an exchange student from England....exchange student gets hurt and in walks our Hero....

Hero- late 30’s, divorced, professional golfer...he has a complicated relationship with his son because his ex wife tries to keep them apart as much as possible, he stopped mid tournament to be by his son...he wants a relationship with his son and is hoping the h can help by letting him be part of their lives

Hero is excellent with the kids and he and the heroine are falling in love...

Hero schedules a getaway for the two of them, the heroine is on board with this they get to the inn and....

Dead/ex husband- He was selfish, he was a cheat, he told the h she was frigid, and a cold fish....the night before he died he informed the h he was seeking blonder pastures and wanted a divorce...(rarely do our evil doers get a comeuppance but dying is pretty final)

Anyhoo, the heroine flees the inn after writing a brief note...she doesnt want H to find out how bad she is in bed....meanwhile the H’s ex wife calls the h.....

Ex Wife- She is a hoity toity snob who is into titles and aristocracy...She is a “lady” now and has done her darndest to drive a wedge between H and his son...now she starts her venomous tongue lashing of the H to the h...saying he was a cheat(nope she was) he had a title, but wouldn’t claim it, and flits around the world playing that little game...and charming/bedding a bevy of beauties along the way

Our h falls for this even though she knows the H better than that....H comes back from their inn trip and wants answers...he thinks she is interested in her banker boss...

OM- banker boss does have an interest in the h...they have gone on lots of overnight trips, but this om doesn’t push the h and takes no for an answer...he tells the h she has a chance to be promoted to LA....

So our h and H are avoiding each other...and both are miserable....the h decides to seek the H out at his home and runs into a beautiful blonde, just out of a shower,...the same blonde who kissed the H on national tv when he won a tournament....(heroine dodged a bullet there...or did she jump to conclusions???)

OW(but not really) Elaine, the stunning blonde is happily married and the H’s financial advisor...no hanky panky here...

The h and H finally have the talk, you know the one, the one that clears up all the misunderstandings and declarations of forever love....The H was super cool here....he told h if she wanted the job he would back off on his travel and do less tournaments...our h was astounded that he would do that for her, but she really doesn’t want to go to LA...in fact she would be happy to follow the H on his tours...if she can’t keep her job in the current town...I really wish there was an epilogue...no talk of future kids, but these two need a little girl....

This is an enjoyable read...low on angst...and very, very tame!

Laciné klišé brakovek z přelomu 80. a 90. let.
