He burns with a desire to possess her. She struggles with the urge to resist him.
Aryan Oberoi
Cold, calculating, and always in control—Aryan rules the business world with an iron fist. Emotions are the weaknesses he never had, until he meets Mrinal- a walking sin in heels.
Their one-night stand should have been just that - a single, a wild moment lost to the night. But she lingered, an intoxicating memory that refused to fade. She is the forbidden fruit that haunts his thoughts, a craving that burrows deep, pulling him into an irresistible spiral of desire—one taste was never enough.
When an arranged marriage binds them together, Aryan’s iron will begins to crack. Living under the same roof, the walls around his heart—hardened from years of control—feels a fissure forming. He’s always taken what he wants, but now, he craves more than her body.
He wants her heart.
But her heart belong to another man.
He is not a man who takes no for an answer. He’ll break every rule, defy every boundary, and shatter every defense to make her his. Because if there’s one thing his wife needs to know—it’s that she belongs to him, body and soul.
Mrinal Kapoor
Still reeling from the breakup that shattered her heart, with the man who swore to love her forever, Mrinal does something reckless- a one night stand with a stranger who ignites a fire in her unlike anything she’s ever felt.
The stranger is none other than Aryan Oberoi-Cold, controlling and dangerously irresistible. He’s everything she knows she should stay away from. But fate has other plans, thrusting her into an arranged marriage with the very man.
Despite his cold and cold controlling façade, Mrinal glimpses a side of Aryan no one else sees—fiercely protective and unexpectedly tender, a vulnerability he guards from the world. Slowly, her heart begins to waver, shifting from the love she thought she had lost to her husband.
But when Aryan's past resurfaces and her ex boyfriend comes back, determined to win her over, the secrets between them threaten to tear everything apart. What price will they have to pay for a love forged from desire?
Tropes. Grumpy/sunshine, Arranged marriage, Enemies to lovers, Romantic comedy
Aryan and Mrinal are the typical GenZ people who are forced into a marriage of Convenience by their parents. Though they have encountered each other before. This book has everything that I personally adore in a desi romance - banter, pining, ambitious female main character and chemistry. It is worth every second of your time so go ahead and read it.
Twisted Desires introduces us to Aryan and Mrinal, my latest source of fangirling over fictional couples. Their journey begins with an impulsive one-night stand, only to be thrust into an arranged marriage orchestrated by their families. What follows is a beautifully chaotic tale of acceptance, growth, and unexpected love.
As individuals, Aryan and Mrinal evolve in meaningful ways, and their relationship's progression is equally heartwarming. The way they navigate their shared circumstances—learning to trust, support, and cherish each other—felt raw and genuine. Aryan’s unwavering care for Mrinal truly touched my heart, and their shared moments of solace gave me a sense of comfort as a reader.
The story is packed with twists and turns reminiscent of a melodramatic TV serial, keeping me hooked from start to finish. While some plot points were a bit predictable, the emotional depth and desi charm more than made up for it.
If you're a fan of slow-burn romances woven with themes of past trauma and healing, Twisted Desires is a must-read. Tara delivers a tale that’s equal parts dramatic and heartwarming, making it an unforgettable experience for lovers of desi romance.
Twisted Desires by Tara is a contemporary Indian billionaire romance that takes readers on a journey through the theme of arranged marriage, blending cultural nuances with modern-day romance.
Lately, I’ve been discovering some amazing desi romances, and it’s been an absolute delight!
What I Loved:
✅ Grumpy × Sunshine Trope: As a die-hard fan of this trope, Aryan and Mrunal nailed the dynamic perfectly. Their chemistry was just chef’s kiss!
✅ Simple & Swoony Storyline: No unnecessary drama, no mismatched subplots—just a smooth, feel-good romance that hits all the right notes.
✅ Hints at Future Stories: The way the author subtly sets the stage for the upcoming books in the Forbidden Desires series was genius. I’m already counting down the days for those releases!
✅ Well-Written Supporting Characters: Each side character brought something unique to the table and added depth to the story.
✅ Fast-Paced & Engaging: The short chapters and a gripping storyline make this a breeze to read. Perfect for when you want something captivating yet quick.
✅ Perfect Length: The book didn’t drag or feel rushed—it had just the right amount of everything for the story it wanted to tell.
What Could’ve Been Better:
❌ If I had to nitpick, some chapters felt like they ended a bit abruptly. While it didn’t affect the flow much, I wished for a touch more intrigue or closure at those points.
Final Thoughts:
Twisted Desires has definitely made me eager to dive into the rest of the Forbidden Desires series. With tropes like Brother’s Best Friend and Best Friend’s Brother lined up, it’s bound to be a treat for romance lovers like me!

What would you do if the guy from your one-night stand turned out to be your parent's choice for your arranged marriage? Run away from the world or jump into a river? Well, that’s exactly the situation Mrinal finds herself in. As an independent and strong FMC, she’s confident in many areas of her life, yet she struggles to stand up to her father, something many readers from Indian families can probably relate to😅.
On the other side, we have Aryan Oberoi, the quintessential grumpy, hot, and dashing MMC. His relationship with his father is strained, a theme that resonates deeply in many desi households where communication often takes a backseat😬. Tara beautifully portrays the impact of generational misunderstandings and the lack of proper communication between parents and children, adding depth and relatability to the story.
The chemistry between Aryan and Mrinal is sizzling, and I loved how Aryan respected Mrinal’s boundaries, giving her space to adjust to their new life as husband and wife🥹🫶. While his short temper did bother me at times, it also added a layer of realism, relationships aren’t always perfect. What matters is how the characters navigate these challenges, own up to their mistakes, and strive to make their relationship stronger.
Tara’s writing style is engaging and heartfelt, and the way she balances emotional depth with lighthearted moments is impressive. This book gave me all the feels, and after a long time, I finally read a desi romance that left a lasting impression.
If you’re a fan of desi romances with strong characters, realistic family dynamics, and a mix of steamy and emotional moments, Twisted Desires is a must-read. Highly recommend!
Can you imagine how twisted one's destiny can be? You are drunk, you had a one-night stand with a stranger, and the next day, you ran off without a word. You get a call from your family stating your marriage is fixed and you have no say in it. You fly back home and you are shocked to see the stranger you are getting married to. Isn't it too much???
Well, our protagonist, Ms. Mrinal, aka Firecracker, is running from getting married to a stranger after her breakup. Suddenly she is into circumstances where she can't back off from the marriage. She has to obey her father's command and get married.
Aryan Oberoi, aka Mr. Captain Brood, is a businessman who is known for his excellent business skills and success. He has a very bitter relationship with his father but he is the best brother and friend one could have.
Two very opposite people are getting tied into a sacred bond but there is a secret between them that nobody knows. It's a shocking surprise for both of them to meet in such a setting. Will they be able to sail out of this situation?? What will be their first reaction after seeing each other?? How will their destiny play its game?
Author Tara is a debut author but her work speaks louder for her talent and skill. She has done a good job scripting this story that has romance, revenge, heartbreak, misunderstanding, love, friendship, and many more. I am in love with Aryan and his personality. It's a sweet read with little twists here and there.
I have read book two in the series, and I was completely flabbergasted, enchanted, bewitched, surprised, enamoured—basically every synonym for being in awe. I loved that book so much that I became extremely curious about book one. Like, if book two is this incredible, then what on earth happened in book one?
So I picked it up, and it is absolutely fantastic.
The chemistry? Oh my God. Sizzling. Burning. Explosive. Imagine two hotheads in love; the chemistry is bound to be passionate, intense, and electric.
There were so many scenes where I was like, okay, the temperature just rose to another level. Especially whenever they were in the same room, the temperature just automatically elevated.
And then there were all these small, beautiful micro-moments that made me so giggly and blushy.
Like him, postponing the wedding date just because it clashed with her periods. He remembers her food order like literally take notes. He remembers her personal likes and dislikes.
And so many more.
These moments really make you realise that love is built on these tiny, intimate details that your person remembers about you. I genuinely adored that.
And now I cannot wait to read book three in the series. I just got a small glimpse of Rohan and Eesha in this book, and that alone was enough to turn me into an absolute, excited idiot. I am so, so excited to read their story.
🦋 Mrinal a young fashion designer is asked to come back home as her father is arranged her wedding.
🦋 Aryan a broody billionaire has no time for love. He is only bothered about his growing business.
🦋 Mirnal does not want to get married as she is not yet over her break-up. But does she have another choice?
🦋 Aryan does not trust anyone not even his father. He is surrounded by many rivals to pull him down.
What happens when Arayan and Mrinal get married? Why Aryan does not trust his father? Till what extent can the rivals go to bring Aryan down?
A nice and quick read. Tara has written the plot well. I loved the way Aryan and Mrinal try to understand each other after marriage and adjust to each other. Aryan is the epitome of broody but when it comes to Mrinal he is the softest person. Mrinal's sassy nature was fun to read. Though she has her fears she masks them well with all her sass. I hated the way Mrinal was treated by her father. I was expecting he would get a fitting reply. Ajay in the role of a father- in-law was perfect. The way he advices her was written aptly. There were some instance where the scenes were predictable. Overall a good read, recommended to romance lovers.
"You deserve a man who treats you with the kind of love and respect you shouldn’t even have to ask for. Someone who makes you feel like you’re enough—just as you are."
Aryan Oberoi and Mrinal Kapoor.
The main characters were the cutest gems. Aryan is a big-shot guy who is a bit static and rude to everyone else, but of course, not to his Queen, despite certain scenes where he is high on anger.
Mrinal Kapoor is a well-known fashion designer who recently broke up with her boyfriend and found herself in a bar. She has a one-night stand with a stranger only to find out he is an arranged future husband. They start with a bit of hate on the guy's side since he hates his father and thinks his father is responsible for his mother's death. She is only marrying him for duty- to keep her father happy. They start working on their relationship with a lot of ups and downs. Finally, they resolve everything.
I gave it three stars because I feel like all the books, especially Forced/Arranged Marriages, feel the same to me apart from names and a bit different backgrounds. It was the same for this book; the story was a bit forgetful. I read this book just two days ago, and I had to go back to read my thoughts for this review. That was the deal breaker.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I absolutely devoured this story! From the very first page, Aryan and Mrinal's fiery chemistry leapt off the pages, pulling me into their tumultuous, passionate, and utterly addictive journey.
Aryan Oberoi stole the show for me-his cold, calculated demeanor masking a fierce vulnerability that only Mrinal could unlock. Watching his iron will crumble as his desire shifted from possession to true love was just chef's kiss. And Mrinal? She was the perfect counterpart-strong, emotionally complex, and torn between the love she thought she lost and the unexpected feelings for her husband.
The push-and-pull between them had me on the edge of my seat. The tension, the yearning, the sizzling will- they-won't-they moments-it was all so good. And when Aryan's softer side began to emerge? heart melted. My
I loved the way their relationship evolved-steamy, intense, and yet deeply emotional.
If you're a fan of arranged marriage stories with scorching chemistry, high stakes, and all the feels, this one's for you. I enjoyed every single moment of this emotional rollercoaster and couldn't put it down! Definitely adding Aryan Oberoi to my list of favorite book husbands.

The writing is fast-paced, full of drama, a beguiling experience. If you are a fan of slow burn desi romance, this cute couple is the stop for you.
Thank you @tara_author and @elentiyapr for this book tour🤎.
I read this book within 24 hours. This book is such an easy, one-sit read and it's a desi romance which made it so much more better. From the start, the storyline is very interesting. From the main character's to the side characters everyone had such a demanding aura around them, definitely not more than the MMC's but all of them were so interesting. I'm looking forward to read other character's books for sure, can't wait to see how the storyline develops further in the series. 👌
Also, damn our Mrinal & Aryan are so HOT!! From the start till the end, there's so much heat between, it's HOT ASF! 😏If I have to layout the tropes to convince you to read this one, here it goes -
✅Desi Billionaire Romance ✅Arranged Marriage ✅One-Night Stand ✅Grumpy x Sunshine ✅HEA ✅Dual POV
This book also presented the past of the character's so well, the pain, the suffering, the anger all were so well-written. Definitely a highlight of the book for me. 😌👍
I would like to thank Elentiya PR & Tara for providing me the opportunity to ARC read this book. I'm beyond grateful. 💖💖💖
Honestly, this had me hooked from the first page itself. And I couldn't believe it was the debut book of the author. I already fell for you, girl 🫶🏻
Aditya and Mrinal, are a part of my heart now. The way they held their relationship, I yearn to have one in future. All the characters, special mention to “Uttar Ahmed” are extraordinary; of course we remove the unwanted ones.
The way the plot moved with the initial high got me hooked. It held on the edge of my seat, leaving me wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. The plot, the pace, the setting, the narration; everything was designed and developed intriguing the interest of the reader.
A short & boring story. There was so much drama and it overshadowed the romance part of it. Not like drama-drama but more like stuff going on. There was no chemistry, barely 4-5 scenes between the MCs. The Hero acted like an ass most of the time and did 0 grovelling. Heroine kept chasing him after every fight or anything. FIL said heroine needs to make more efforts …. bffr … It needs a lot of work.
🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ This was such a swoony story!!😍😍 I truly enjoyed reading this book and couldn't stop once I started!❤️❤️❤️ Read it in less than 12 hours and really loved it so much!! Mrinal and Aryan are so perfectly made for each other... And seeing Aryan get all possessive and jealous and protective of her felt so good!!
Definitely recommended! Can't wait to read Anika and Rishi's story next!!🥰🥰
Boy meets girl in arranged marriage set up, only to realize they had already met. Initially, both are hesitant for the marriage because of personal reasons, but come together to keep their fathers happy. The characters of the protagonists are portrayed well, Aryan as a strong-willed personality and Mrinal as an ambitious successful fashion designer. An emotional love story makes a good read.
This was such a fun & quick read Literally finished it in one sitting
I love sassy FMC, so I fell for Mrinal from the 1st chapter
The banter! I enjoyed reading those moments where the characters were bickering, pulling each other's legs. Not only the main characters but side characters as well
It wasn’t as spicy as I would have liked. I think it is so sad that the relationship between the male lead and his father was strained over a simple misunderstanding. I liked how the male lead stood up for his new wife and loved her.
I absolutely loved reading this book! It was an amazing read. The way he said things to her, gawd I’m manifesting to find a guy like him, to feel loved, cared for, and be someone’s firecracker.
Get ready for a wild ride of emotions, desire, and drama!
Aryan Oberoi, the CEO with a capital C (for Control Freak), has his life turned upside down when he meets Mrinal - a walking, talking, sinning-in-heels disaster waiting to happen. Their one-night stand should've been a fleeting moment of madness, but Mrinal lingers in Aryan's mind like a bad (good?) habit.
As they're thrust into an arranged marriage, Aryan's iron will begin to crack. He's always taken what he wants, but now, he craves more than just Mrinal's body. He wants her heart. But her heart belongs to another man... or so she thinks.
The characters? Amazing! Aryan's transformation from ice king to possessive, passionate husband is well defined. Mrinal's sass, strength, and vulnerability make her a relatable and lovable heroine.
What stood out to me was Aryan's trust in Mrinal despite their arranged marriage, and their dedication to making their marriage work. The bonds between siblings and in-laws were also beautifully portrayed.
However, there were some flaws that were overlooked by the author. Additionally, Mrinal's father was a disappointing character - you'll understand why when you read the book.
Overall, "Twisted Desires" is a good read, and I'd recommend it to fans of romance and drama
Review: Mrinal Kapoor, a well-faring designer is hauled from her base Delhi to Mumbai to be roped into a marriage of alliance, and her voice in this matter is conveniently crushed by her overbearing father.
Reluctantly, she accompanies her parents to dine with her 'would be family' and she hits it off with her SIL. Only her groom...well, he's the same 'Captain Brood' from that nightclub in Delhi where she went out with her bestie to celebrate breaking up with her ex-boyfriend who ended things abruptly with just a text. Mortified, but pressured, she had a 'chatt mangni patt vyah' with this infuriating male.
Aryan Oberoi, the heir of the Oberoi empire doesn't do casual, especially with a vast business to manage. His punctuality almost rivals his resentment towards his father after the untimely death of his mom.
Happiness entered his life in the form of a pouting 'firecracker' in whose passion he had burned, until, she shockingly reappeared again, this time for good. And he vows to break the walls around her heart along with rules to show her how much love 'his Queen' deserves, and no one, not even jealous business rivals, paparazzi, irritating best friend or even her ex will take her away from him ever.
Pros: • It was a light read with a good cast of supporting characters. I especially liked Eesha (Mrinal's Bestie), Ruhi (her assistant ) and Anika (Aryan's Sister) as well as Rishi (his best friend) and Uttar. • The brother-sister bonds were heartwarming to read. • Rituals were described well, especially the 'pheras' • The FMC is strong willed & MMC is a green forest.
Cons: • A bit more of character development could have made the narrative even better.
Target audience: 16+ readers who like a good desi romance.

This book is completely magical! I mean it’s a billionaire arrange marriage romance and what do I need rather than this?🫠😭
The lines of this book touched my heart! Each and every part of it is so well and beautifully written!🥹
Aryan Oberoi, The Cold, Handsome Billionaire has soft side only for his firecracker, Mrinal Kapoor. The Handsome character in the book! Also my favourite one🤌🏻🫠
Mrinal Kapoor, the soft girl! She’s heartbroken because of her past relationship, Has met Aryan Oberoi in one night stand🦋✨
I personally loved, Mrinal’s Smaller brother the most! He loves her the most, I mean protects her, cares about her😭🫶🏻 The plot of the book had me heartbroken, but the ending of this book is perfect!🦋🦋✨

omg I enjoyed reading this book so much🫶♥️ It gave me the perfect desi element that I was looking for. Aryan & Mrinal are perfect for each other. I loved the whole story and every single scene. Even though this book is less than 250 pages for me it was the perfect amount. I would have loved more scenes of them but I was very content with what I read too!
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a fast paced desi arranged marriage romance.
I liked the pace of the book - it was easy to read and I was able to finish it in a day. This book highlighted the strong bonds of siblings and friends very well. The struggles and pressure that Mrinal had to go through was heart wrenching. Aryan, although initially a spoilt brat, turns out to be such a pookie! I loved the banter between the two. It was cute how he called her Firecracker and she saved his number by the name - Captain Brood. The revelation gave the book a much needed emotional turn. I would love to read about Anika's romance triangle in the future! If you're looking for a desi romance book, this is the perfect read for you! It will leave your tose curling and blush creeping up your cheeks.
My favourite tropes in one book and I loved it! There's something so beautiful in the simplicity of this story and I loved how it easily flowed. The characters were amazing and the storyline was good too! My only complaint would be that it seemed a bit rushed and that miscommunication in the end wasn't my taste!
But the writing was good and I really liked this quick, fun and romantic read!
