The Sirians #2

Fate Demands Sacrifice

Rate this book
To come into her power, Fate will demand sacrifice.

Reva came to the Kingdom of Mariande with one goal: to heal their sick prince. But over a short amount of time, she's discovered that not only is her forbidden power the key to healing him but there is an army of Sirians wielding the Darkness who whisper of ancient revenge.

In order to help Clint and lead the Sirians in a war she wants nothing to do with, Reva has to learn how to master not one but three different powers: the Light, her firepower, and an unknown, strong god-power.

While Reva trains to master her powers, she realizes nothing in their world is as it seems. The history they’ve been told, from demi-gods to their heritage, is all a lie. Dark games are being played across Aveesh, and someone powerful in gifts and status is moving the pieces on the other side of the board.

Through forged friendships and found family, Reva battles against Fate and a ticking clock, grasping onto who she thought she was, the guilt of her decisions, and happiness like she’s never known.

As more truths are revealed, Reva continues to have more questions than answers… and one just may break her heart.

As with book one, I really enjoyed the magic system & world-building. We definitely gain a deeper understanding about the Gods and Goddesses, the history of the Sirians, Reva's magic and more. We get some excellent OMG moments along with some important reveals and plot twists. We also get to experience an expansion of the world as the other royal families are being introduced and becoming more relevant. This kept me engaged the whole time and I can't wait to see what's next in this world.

Unfortunately I did not particularly enjoy the love triangle in this. I knew it was coming from book 1 and while I know some people hate all love triangle tropes, I don't! However, I prefer my love triangles where there's more build up, more tension, more "but who will she end up with?" I kind of already didn't like how Reva was treating Fin by the end of book 1 and it definitely felt like she was leading him on instead of just being honest and breaking it off - I don't love that. It's kind of a give-in that someone in the love triangle ends up getting hurt but there was something about how things went down with Fin that rubbed me the wrong way. It sadly made me care less about Reva and Tariq's romance. I am curious to see how things continue to pan out in the next book.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC. This review reflects my honest thoughts and opinions.

K.M Davidson has done it again! Book two of The Sirians Series is just as emotional, gripping and fun as the first one. However, this one leans more into the romance and the spice (without sacrificing the plot), so if that’s your thing, you’re in for a treat! 😌

One of the characters experienced some major growth in this book. To go from being one of the most insufferable characters to being genuinely likeable is not an easy thing to write in a believable way. But it was, and it was so lovely to read!

In the meantime, Reva, our FMC, is going through some heavy stuff. But she handles it very well — I love how she’s really coming into her own now. And as usual, Clint is a sweet angel baby and nothing better happen to him. 🥺

I’m absolutely in love with how this story is unfolding so far, and how Davidson weaves in subtle little details and foreshadowing. The ”mystery” aspects in both these books are so well done that even someone like me, who’s read a lot of fantasy, has a tricky time guessing the plot twists! The story is unique imo, and the world building is presented in an organic way, which makes it easy to follow and understand.

I truly believe there’s something for everyone in these books, and I can’t recommend them enough 🖤

“Say my name like that again,”....“And I’ll make you say it for the rest of the night.”

I will say it too... Sweet Gods.🥵

This book is everything I needed. The plot is well constructed, the story interesting, the characters engaging, and let's talk about that tension!

I loved every minute of reading this book and can't wait for the sequel! K.M. Davidson is one of my favorite authors, and I can't recommend these wonderful books enough!✨️

Before I get into my review I need to tell you all about KM Davidson and the absolute banger Prologues/Epilogues she writes. I am freaking sat and hooked by page 1, then I am reeling and wishing I had the next book on the last page. She delivers every single time and I am SO excited for the next part of this incredible story. And there is a bunch more to come, so if you embark on this journey well buckle up!

The world building/magic system background just gets even better in this book, we start to get answers to questions that came up in DCA but trust me more questions also come up. The amount of easter eggs in this story is unreal and I just know we got sooo many more, so pay close attention! The reveals and hints are so fun to catch onto and piece together. The FMC Reva continues to explore her potential and unravel all the mysteries around her life and every clue starts to paint a clearer picture. I really enjoy that I’m learning all of this in tandem with her and while I have my theories, nothing has been obvious or predictable.

As for the romance, mother may I. I haven’t read many love triangles, but I am enjoying it so much. The tension? Oof. The banter? Oof. Tariq? OOOH 😮‍💨 This story definitely ramps up the spice too and it was so good, I cannot wait to see how these relationships unfold. Also if you enjoy wrist grabs, pinning, chin tilts and all that swoony goodness you’ll find it here 😍 I also absolutely love all the side characters, they are so well developed and every single one of them ends up playing a role in the bigger picture. So once again, KUDOS KM DAVIDSON - your mind and your planning is amazing.

If that wasn’t convincing enough, then let me just say: ADD THIS TO YOUR TBR! 🤭

Recently finished *Fate Demands Sacrifice* by K.M. Davidson, and once again, completely captivated once again! As, the second book in the series, it continues to deliver the same magic, tension, and emotional depth that I loved in the first installment. Reva’s journey to master her three powers—Light, fire, and a mysterious god-power—is full of challenges, twists, and revelations that kept me hooked from start to finish.

The world-building in this series is fantastic, and Davidson does a brilliant job of weaving together political intrigue, ancient revenge, and dark secrets. Reva’s struggle to navigate this complex world, where nothing is as it seems and every truth leads to more questions, is gripping. I especially love the tension between her and Tariq—their chemistry is palpable, and I’m eagerly waiting to see where their story goes.

The blend of found family, deep friendships, and the battle against Fate itself makes this book an emotional rollercoaster. Davidson’s characters are so well-developed that I’m deeply invested in their fates. If you enjoyed the first book, you’ll be thrilled with this one. It’s a must-read for fans of fantasy filled with magic, mystery, and compelling character dynamics!

**Full disclosure: I was gifted an early copy of Fate Demands sacrifice. I am in no way being paid or otherwise influenced for a review, it is entirely my own opinion.**
This book did everything book 1 did and then some. 💕 FDS does have a stronger romance subplot and more spice, which is always a bonus in my books. Even more shocking, this book pulled off a love triangle that I actually liked? Miracle do exist y’all.
The found family trope of book one continued to flourish in book two and it’s so wonderful to see so many caring relationships. I’m really excited for Reva to find people who care for her and who fill the roles she needs to grow. 💕
FDS had such great growth with its entire cast of characters and it was so rewarding to read. Especially for Reva, whose is becoming less of a reluctant hero and more of a true badass. I’m so excited to keep following her journey! She wasn’t even the character with the biggest growth though. 👀 I think it takes a lot of talent to take a very disliked character and give him a believable and real redemption arc. Props to Katie for pulling that one off swimmingly. 👏🏻
The mystery and tension really builds and spreads beyond the characters in Fate Demands Sacrifice. I’m really curious to see where this story goes.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to read this one early. 💕💕 Fate Demands Sacrifice comes out November 25, 2024!

KM Davidson continues her series as fiery as she finished Darkness Comes Again.
She may answer some of the questions lingering from book one, but she packs a punch with all of the new elements she casually drops during this eventful piece. With new characters, storylines, and magical elements, all of which of course will lead to new questions. This continued story blends all of the characters we loved the most with fantastic new pieces that will have you feeling every emotion, sometimes more than one at once. I went from mid sobbing to laughing and smiling within lines of each other reading these chapters. Reva and her loyal friend group set off on the journey of a lifetime to answer all of the questions you had in their first installment. In this second installment every piece of this story will slowly begin to find their way to each other.

KM Davidson has a flair for writing stories that hold you in their grasp giving you an addictive taste that leaves you needing more. It’s sexy, breath taking, heart wrenching, will kick you in the gut, but pull you in for the best hug of your life. This story has it all, and the best part.. it’s not over, it’s just beginning for this group.

**I had the incredible honor of being able to alpha read this book right out the gate of it being written. 🤍

*begins slow clap* what an incredible second installment within the series. I loved seeing the found family aspect of this series develop further as we see the characters form closer relationships with one another. Clint is possibly the sweetest guy ever and I can’t wait to watch him grow further in the future. Also as much as I believe Tariq and Reva are a better fit for each other my heart broke for Fin towards the end of the book. And dare I say it as a certified Pax hater he really came around and grew on me. This book was filled with twists and turns at every page and it was so fun seeing some of the puzzles pieces click together

4.5 six pointed stars!!

K.M. Davidson's done it again with this second book in The Sirians Series! After falling for the characters in Darkness Comes Again, I couldn't wait for more. This is a series I am loving keeping up with, with characters you just HAVE to root for. A character I especially loved seeing more of in this book was Pax. We love his growth.

With new characters, deeper relationships, more magic, plot twists, surprises, and a love triangle (!!!), you will not regret giving this series a try.

5/5 — I said this in my review for book one & I’ll say it again: this series is shaping up to be one long and EPIC journey and I am so SO excited to see where it leads!!! The characters, world building, magic systems, the lore… there’s such a vast expanse of story unfolding that is so full of potential that I can’t even fathom its depths and to put it plainly, I’m sat. I’m in it for the long haul.

Proper review to come!

This world drew me in. As the second book in the series, Fate Demands Sacrifice developed seamlessly from book one and kept my attention engaged the whole time. Love Reva and how her story develops. Love the tension. Love the found family. The epilogue was a twist I didn't see coming! Will definitely continue reading this series!

Okay I gave myself time to write this review thinking that would help me explain my thoughts with better wording BUT I STILL AM NOT OVER THIS BOOK!

I am simply obsessed with K. M. Davidson's writing and this book was somehow EVEN BETTER than the first! Seriously, if you haven't picked up this series, what are you waiting for?

If you like relationships with the HIGHEST of tension, the best found family, and flirty romantic royals THEN this is the book for you! Not to mention I absolutely love a solid redemption arc (not saying who, but ifykyk) and K. M. Davidson never fails to bring in a few surprises along the way!

I think what I love most about this series is that I have so much love for each and every character, but I also find myself obsessing over the magic system and storyline. Normally I fall into one of those three categories for a book where I either enjoy the story, I want to know more about the world, OR I love the characters. I somehow have fallen into all three in this book!!

I simply cannot wait to see how Reva manages to balance not just her responsibilities, but her men too in the next book.

⭐️⭐️.75 ; 🌶️🌶️.75

This annoyed the living f*cking sh*t out of me gahhhdaaammmnit!!! UGH, bro! Will I be picking up book 3? Probably 🤦🏻‍♀️ ! I think I need to know what happens…. Maybe. Idk. I’m conflicted.

The writing is painful. Examples: The author writes that a character stood up but then later on in the paragraph it’ll mention them standing up again. From where, dawg!? Wasn’t you standing already?! Okay, next. Something pivotal happens and it’s a band of misfits, if you will, so they have to relay information to one another constantly. But instead of being engaging, the author just writes “I went on to tell them my version of what happened”, “I explained to them what happened”, or “I began to fill them in”. It wouldn’t have mattered if it happened once, maybe twice… but this happens CONSTANTLY throughout the book with multiple characters (not just the FMC).

Characters: And don’t get me started on the FMC… she’s exasperating and genuinely makes me irate. I swear… like girlie pop, you can’t distance yourself, fall into something with another man, then be so sad that first guy is walking away. Her LITERALLY running away from conversations because she can’t handle the topics? There were soooo many instances where I wanted to wring her neck and shake some sense into her “little head” because Tariq was right about that. Fk that b*tch tbh. So many tantrums… so many that I forget they’re supposed to be in their 20s? Clint, a teenager, is more mature than the whole lot of them. Then she gets down with them after she cries and dries her tears on her interests? It’s giving trashy tv that I can’t look away from. It’s giving YA vibes, but with explicit content.

Plot: While I’m reading, I’m engaged because there’s so much I want to know. But when I try to look back and analyze what I’ve read, NOTHING happens? lol so much happens but nothing happens at the same time? Hard to explain. I just feel like so much of the potentially intriguing plot is glossed over because of her feelings or her romantic interests. Even her relationships with the gang feels glossed over.

Was I entertained? Yes. I had to know what happens next. Did I want to yeet my kindle across the room and take a sledgehammer to it? Also yes. Do with that as you will. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe this type of romantasy isn’t for me?…. 🙂‍↕️ My annoyance is a similar feeling to when I read Fourth wing. I’m way more annoyed here, but similar. I just need more plot from this. And for adults… to just maybe…. act accordingly? 🫢

Formal apology to my book club girlies: I’m so sorry 😓🫠

Fate Demands Sacrifice is book 2 in the Sirians series, and what a book 2 it was!

We continued to follow Reva on her journey of self discovery, coming into her powers, and even dipped our toes into a love triangle. I really enjoyed this book, I love all the characters and how they interact, the world building, and how magic is used.

The use of light magic and dark magic in the Sirians series reminds me a bit of wizards in Harry Potter, and the obscurials they can become if their magic is suppressed. It’s really intriguing and interesting, and I am very curious to see book 3 unfold. I loved reading about Reva’s magic training and interactions with Lightning, and then her discovery about the deep wells of her power.

Overall, Reva is such a great FMC and I am really excited to see what she does next. Elly continues to be a favorite of mine, she is SUCH a good friend to Reva and the rest of the gang. Pax was a fun character to learn more about, which is interesting because I hate him passionately in book 1. Fin continues to be our sweet cinnamon roll mmc, and we love him but we know Reva is destined for more and for full acceptance from her partner. Queue Tariq swaggering in… my oh my do we love Tariq in all his glory. And apparently Reva agrees with me, which turns into quite the delicious few scenes, and many heart melting conversations.

The love triangle was good but also sad? I felt like Fin clearly wasn’t meant for her, and he was fantasizing about what she could have been, but not seeing the real her… but it was sad for me because he still kept going for it and hoping for the best when clearly the other person in the triangle was much more suited to be her equal.

Lastly, I want to talk about Clint. I genuinely am so invested in him as a character and I love him so much. The highlight of the book was not the spice (shocker for me, I know), but rather the scenes with Clint. I have so much love for this fictional teenage boy full of life despite his hardships.

This is a great indie read! I definitely recommend

Yet again, K.M. Davidson has blown my mind with her writing. There’s something special about the way she builds the friendships, the way the characters talk to each other and support each other, and the perfect amounts of conflict within both the minor and major plots that is just perfection.

“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒚𝒕𝒉…𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒚𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓.”

Even though there’s not a huge war with action going on (yet….), there are no boring scenes. Every scene is so well placed and has a purpose to the greater plot or a character’s development and it just feels like this whole world is so fully realized. Not to mention the originality of this world and its different races of people, the history, the magic system, etc. It’s all so new and something I haven’t quite seen done yet and it’s awesome! I especially love the ideas of the Light and Darkness being manifested in childhood based on how those with the power were raised/ treated. It gives such strength to the concept of kindness and empathy in parenting.

Tariq is a starrrr character in this book and I loved rereading the first book in this series because Tariq even has a presence there even if he’s not physically in the scenes. From his interactions with Clint (sweet baby angel) to his determined flirting with Reva. I loved the magnetism those two had and the romance was just so well written.

“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒇𝒆𝒘 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏. 𝒇𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆.”

I think this book ends in such a wonderful way. There were so many satisfying conclusions and Reva’s healer journey felt so full circle, I’m so proud (but also scared the happy events won’t last long). There wasn’t a huge cliffhanger, thank the gods, but the way Katie gave us so much information and reveals right at the end is keeping me on the tip of my toes and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series as well as her novellas coming out!

Can I give 4 stars for getting my feelings hurt? LOL, JK!

After the first book, I was hungry and thirsty for the second, so my expectations were pretty high. I knew my heart would go through a few things because of the hints Davidson was dropping, and yep, she delivered on the promise of hurting my feelings.

I can't say I was able to hold on to every bit of plot info about the big bads in here, but that's my only qualm. Otherwise, I enjoyed this read. It's nearly 400 pages, but it reads so comfortably, showcasing the author's way with words and connection to the world she's building.

I love the pace of Reva's growth. I see moments where she's stepping into her strength, but she's still figuring it out, which feels relatable and real. I can't wait until she fully embraces it because it'll be well deserved and built up to authentically.

I was not expecting things to move right off top with Reva and Tariq, but that's mostly because I'm very partial to Fin. My boy got disrespected, but that isn't to say I don't understand that Reva was trying to figure things out. So, I'm still warming up to her and Tariq. Objectively, he's a good character. I'm too biased otherwise to say more.

Pax has his redemption moment. I didn't want it, tbh and there's still a small part of me that's still not fully there yet. Still, I'm ready to open my arms because his dad did a number on him, and that trauma takes time to deconstruct. What I loved was the way Davidson wrote his change: it was in the subtle way his body shifted. It was gentle almost, and I appreciate the quietness of it.

I love everything about Clint. Lightning is growing on me. Remy touched my soul. Love the friendship of Reva and Elly. Justice for Fin! Good plot twists as well. Patiently waiting for the next in the series.

✨Fate Demands Sacrifice✨

Oh man, I just loved this book! Talk about a series that keeps getting better! This is the sequel to Darkness Comes Again and I have to say that Katie is masterful at writing found families and swoony men.

We begin right where we left off at the end of book one and continue to follow the POV of Reva, our FMC. We get more sexual tension, higher stakes, more hidden identities, answers that lead to exciting questions, and deeper lore. Reva is still working to heal Prince Clint, fearing her hidden powers are the only answer but they’re out of control. This soon reveals MUCH more than Reva was asking for. But she is not alone! Her friends are with her and, despite a smallish love triangle, Reva continues to grow in a way that seems leader/queen quality. And I can’t wait to find out!! We are left with another open ending, awaiting an adventure to new territories and I’m sooo sad that this book is over and I have to wait.

Our surprise MMC who graced us with his presence on the last page of book one, is delicious. Both males are dream men, but I absolutely love how this one is fearless against Reva’s power and encouraging, comforting, and empowering as she moves through grief and uncertainty.

Tropes you may find in FDS are best friend’s brother, forced proximity, friends to lovers, he comforts her, medium spice, love triangle, plot twists, hidden identities, “breathe”, nickname, greater magic and lore building, and a delightful ending that leaves you with such anticipation!

Thank you so much, Katie, for allowing me the opportunity to be an arc reader for you. I’m here for it all!

SCREECHING. CRYING. WANTING TO THROW MY BOOK AT THE WALL BUT ALSO WANTING TO CRADLE IT LIKE THE MASTERPIECE IT IS.

So, ummmm, hear me out.
You know that feeling of headed home after a long day, dreaming of what you're going to have for dinner and then when you get home, you have not a single ingredients you need to make that dish? You're sad and bummed. And as you close the doors of your pantry, a package of cookies catches your eye.

This book is like the best cookie you've ever had.

Now that we have that out of the way...

KM Davidson has built a world in which the layers are so well woven, you don't realize what you're reading until three chapters later. It's the best depth of flavor and story-building. Fate Demands Sacrifice scratches all the itches, reaches that spot in the most satisfying way. This book is literally a tray of warm cookies, freshly sprinkled with the good salt.

We join Reva and the gang on another leg of their journey, and when I say I gasped and screamed and squealed...and sobbed...none of that is an exaggeration. It is the best kind of whiplash and while you are bawling your eyes out, things are being so cleverly revealed and other layers are being built upon.

Everything you love from Darkness Comes Again (Book One in the series) is simply amplified and taken to the next level.

A bajillion million stars.

Go read it. Please.

my first physical arc. 🥹

i read an arc of darkness comes again (book one in the sirians series) earlier this year and fell in love with the characters and the universe. i am absolutely honored to have been given a physical arc of fate demands sacrifice. i read about 86% of this book while in lines at halloween horror nights because i physically could not stop reading it (sorry to abbey, lexx, and ryan for ignoring you in the lines lmao, the book was simply too good).

fate demands sacrifice is everything i could have asked for in a sequel: reva’s magic is bigger & better, the stakes are higher, and the character development is everything i longed for & more.

one of the things i loved the most about darkness comes again was that, despite being a high fantasy novel set against a backdrop of impending doom, the story is cozy. the characters feels like old friends, like coming home. the addition of tariq’s character made this even more true of fate demands sacrifice. i particularly loved his and elly’s sibling dynamic; they had me giggling nonstop. and while i’m not usually a fan of a love triangle, the dynamic between fin, reva, and tariq was incredibly well executed. there were so many moments where i found myself thinking, “this makes so much sense for reva” or “tariq is exactly the opposite of what’s causing reva to push away from fin.” i also loved that readers got to see so much more of remy and dahlia— they are obviously incredibly important to reva, and it was nice to get chapters with them and reva together versus reva just thinking back on memories of them. and can we talk about pax’s character arc??

my jaw absolutely hit the floor in the last 20% of the novel. all the little details came full circle so brilliantly. i am SAT for book three.

I loved this

I had said the first book was too easy going, not enough conflict, and the author def showed me wrong😩! There was so much banter and good dialogue in this book! We saw alot of character growth, and the plot kept on thickening.

I loved that Reva kicked fin to the dust bc he was so mf lousy. Tariq and her go together so well and just make sense. I also loved seeing Reva’s dynamic with the other characters. Her and elly are bestie goals. Her and Tariq is what I want my next bf and i to be like. Pax came around throughout the book and (spoiler) im excited to see how his story goes w lighting! Fin and Reva have this more casual stagnant dynamic but also share some of the past together so it’s good enough. And I love Clint. I love found family tropes so this book was perfect.

I really loved and enjoyed seeing the build up towards the enemies. We all knew they were some big back entity, but damn. I felt like some points of this felt like so dystopian in a way, having a group of people still so angry about the wrongdoing against their ancestors. How one man could corrupt history, and turn the masses against a marginalized group, first turning the minority against itself. It reminded me so much of my own culture and the power dynamics currently in society, so im excited to see how it plays out in book 3.

Overall I enjoyed this read and enjoyed the character and plot! 5 stars

This series is literally one where I am trying to open the book and physically jump in. The author portrays the world so vividly and I found myself deeply connected to the characters. The prologue gripped me, and I couldn’t put this book down. Especially with this line…

𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳. 😭

Book two continues the story of Reva trying to heal Prince Clint (LOVE this kid) and getting to know Prince Tariq (literally can’t get enough of Tariq) while trying to master her god-powers, learn about her parents, and about the history behind the Black and Light Sirians.

🖤 Let me tell you about Prince Tariq… hands in his pockets, his nickname for her, his wall leans, chin grabs, the way he takes care of her and pushes her when needed, and how he kneels for her… 🔥 Poor Fin…

“𝐼 𝓀𝑒𝓅𝓉 𝓂𝓎 𝒽𝒶𝓃𝒹𝓈 𝒾𝓃 𝓂𝓎 𝓅𝑜𝒸𝓀𝑒𝓉𝓈 𝒷𝑒𝒸𝒶𝓊𝓈𝑒 𝐼 𝓀𝓃𝑒𝓌 𝑜𝓃𝒸𝑒 𝐼 𝓉𝑜𝓊𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒹 𝓎𝑜𝓊, 𝐼 𝓌𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹𝓃’𝓉 𝒷𝑒 𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓀𝑒𝑒𝓅 𝓂𝓎 𝒽𝒶𝓃𝒹𝓈 𝑜𝒻𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊.”

“𝑅𝓊𝒾𝓃 𝓂𝑒, 𝒮𝓉𝒶𝓇𝒻𝒾𝓇𝑒. 𝒯𝒶𝓀𝑒 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓌𝒶𝓃𝓉 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝓂𝑒.”

I loved so many parts of this book… Pax’s redemption arc and possible plot twist with him, Remy’s grand entrance, Karasi’s love for Reva, the box from her father, and the found family in this book is so beautifully done. I cannot wait for book 3!

Reva’s journey continues in Fate Demands Sacrifice, and I couldn’t wait to dive back into this captivating, magic-filled world! K.M. Davidson has such a talent for banter and dialogue, making every interaction engaging. I loved meeting the new, intriguing characters she introduced.

This book builds beautifully on the foundation laid in the first, expanding both the magic system and world-building. There’s plenty of foreshadowing and mystery to keep you guessing, and I had so much fun trying to predict the twists—only to be shocked by the time I reached the end. Reva’s exploration of her unique powers adds a compelling layer to the story, too.

After absolutely loving Darkness Comes Again, I was beyond excited for book two, and Fate Demands Sacrifice did not disappoint! The change of scenery was refreshing, and I enjoyed meeting the new characters, exploring breathtaking locations, and diving deeper into the imaginative magic system. The mystery surrounding Reva and the Sirians was even more intense this time around, and I found myself completely captivated.

I honestly can’t believe I waited so long to read this! If you’re a fan of romantasy, do yourself a favor and pick these two up!

Devoured. Not even a joke.
I have been in the worst fantasy/romantasy slump. I haven't been able to read a book in this genre for the last month or so (I literally read myself out).
But along comes Fate Demands Sacrifice...
And it is everything I ever wanted in a fantasy/romantasy book.

This book is great from beginning to end. The story is addicting and even better than the first. The pacing is excellent, I never felt like I was reading but in the story.

Reva, the FMC, is even stronger as she is coming in to her own. Clint is still so lovable and I am so glad he is still around. Fin never had a chance because helllloooo Tariq. I mean, if you have to read the series just for him, please do it. (I mean DO IT!) Elly, Pax and the rest are here to build this story as Reva trains and learns her god powers as well as everything she didn't know about herself and the darkness. There is so much set up for book 3 that I can hardly wait.

The story is developing and adding so many new layers. I just love how this story is not one dimensional. As a reader, you'll always be on the edge of your seat and the view will be lovely (Tariq, hands in pockets, and leaning in the doorway...)

“Ruin me, Starfire.”

Pleaseeeee, I need several moments to recover. Fate Demands Sacrifice is an incredible follow up to Darkness Comes Again.

The character relationships are what really make this book shine. We see Reva glow closer to the Hesper siblings and even form an unlikely acquaintance with someone we never would’ve expected from book one. Can I also just say that I wasn’t fully convinced at the end of book one that I would like Tariq, but I ended up absolutely adoring him. He’s an immaculate MMC for this book. Some of his lines had me kicking my feet and giggling.

Reva’s relationship with Clint was, of course, still adorable in this book. I really love Clint’s personality and the way he interacts with Reva. I would find myself smiling nearly every time he was on page interacting with Reva or his siblings.

Fate Demands Sacrifice leaves me so excited for the next book in the series. I can’t wait to learn more about the world and magic as Reva herself learns. With the ending of this book, I expect book three to take an exciting path!

Thank you K.M. Davidson for the copy of Fate Demands Sacrifice. All opinions are my own!

KM has done it again! Fate Demands Sacrifice the second book in the Sirian Series was a roller coaster that I could ride all day long!

I had every roller coaster emotion across the sun. I laughed, I teared up, and was about to fight someone sometimes. KM knows how to make you question everyone and everything. Because not everyone is what they seem, because there was a plot twist that happened that I didn’t see coming and my jaw was on the floor!

I loved watching Reva growing more into her Sirian and other powers. Plus, I just really love Reva in general, she so feisty and also shows how much she cares for her friends. The bond she has with Clint is just so precious. 😭💖

I’m glad to see how we are getting a few more answers (still have a questions 😂) getting answered, got a battle scene to help see what to look forward to in the future, and seeing how all the romance is romancing.

Of course this leaves on a massive cliffhanger and I can not wait for the next book!

Thank you K.M. Davidson the chance to ARC read this amazing book.

This sequel to Darkness Comes Again has some really strong elements that drew me in—especially the world-building and magic system, which felt fresh and unique. I also really enjoyed the found family dynamic (a trope I’ll never get tired of), and the main character’s tragic arc kept me emotionally invested. It’s definitely a quick, entertaining read with some compelling moments.

That said, this one didn’t fully land for me. The love triangle lacked the tension I typically love in that trope, and one side of it felt a little drawn out without the payoff I was hoping for. Some of the world-building came through heavy info-dump conversations, which made the pacing feel a bit uneven. Book two leaned heavily into the romance and inner monologue, which slowed the plot for me at times.

Still, I think readers who enjoy character-driven fantasy with a strong romance thread, emotional stakes, and unique magic will find a lot to love here—especially if you enjoy a good cry and a strong heroine fighting through heartbreak.

DROP WHATEVER YOUR READING RN AND READ THIS SERIES!!

I just finished Fate Demands Sacrifice by K.M. Davidson, and I’m still catching my breath! 🌟 If you thought book one was amazing wait until you read book two! I devour these books like those late night snacks they are just too addicting 😅 This book is a rollercoaster of emotions and high stakes, with twists I never saw coming. With sexy, strong, and connectable characters you’ll feel as tho you are on this journey with Reva and her friends, the world building continues to amaze me and her ability to paint these images in your mind is like no other! The characters are so well-developed, and I loved how the author wove together magic, sacrifice, and destiny in such a gripping way. Plus can we talk about the men in this book😮‍💨I am never disappointed when it comes to her books and to this day it is still my fav series🥹 If you love fantasy with strong characters and unexpected turns, this one is a must-read! 📚✨
