Each photo captures the way you see the knot as you make it. And when two or more ropes are involved, they are color coded to help you clearly tell them apart.
Filled with more than 600 photographs, this convenient, compact guide also includes a section on decorative knots, a cross-reference list of the many applications of knots, and a detailed glossary.
Part of my quest to find a good book on knots. This one features a funny looking guy in a black turtleneck who demonstrates each knot in photos.
Maybe a good knot book's really hard to write, but I haven't found one yet. Ashley book of knots (ABOK) is great, but fails to show how you actually tie the knots. This one is pretty uneven and misses some really useful hitches it really ought to have.
If you know of a good knot book, please let me know.
This is a really good book to learn knots for sailing, fishing, climbing, and decorative work. It covers all the basics and for some of the more important knots like the bowline it teaches multiple methods to tie them.
