What a great read for the upcoming Christmas season! Mandatory goes to show that Nick Goss can write literally anything, and you’ll love it. I adored every single book in his middle grade fantasy series, The Traveler’s League. I marveled through the esoteric Henry Halfmoon, I was horrified in the best way by Unplugging Babel, and I’ve now laughed and cried my way through Mandatory: an Office Christmas Party. If Nick Goss’s name is on the book, it’s worth your time.

This is a great stocking stuffer and quick Christmas read when you want to have a couple hours of heartwarming storyline without turning on the TV. Think "Undercover Boss" meets "A Christmas Carol." Luther is your typical ambitious workaholic and annoyed with the mandatory Christmas party. Things unravel and he finds out that family is what really matters.

This story will make a good Hallmark Christmas show, cute and feel good but not much depth.
