Joy Comes in the Morning: Finding joy through pain and suffering

Rate this book
We all experience pain and suffering. Roughly 20 to 25 percent of the U.S. population is living with chronic pain. Hundreds of thousands of people develop chronic pain each year. Ongoing suffering can leave us feeling hopeless and helpless.

Chronic pain, emotional distress, health problems, depression, anxiety...all are challenging and impact the physical, emotional, and spiritual life of the person going through them. "Why must we suffer like this?" and "What can we do to alleviate the pain of their presence?" are questions they ask.

In this intimate account of her current personal struggles and those of a brother, a sister, and a few friends, Paige Pehrson explores the answers to these questions and more in this part memoir and part faith-based book, valuable for anyone going through suffering and who wants to find hope and healing...and even joy! This book is also for those who care about the sufferers to gain a better understanding of what they may be going through.

Paige has suffered from decades of chronic pain, health problems, and emotional turmoil. These challenges have seriously impacted relationships, careers, and faith. Her quest for answers on purpose, happiness, spirituality, and more resulted in the journey she is now on. While she and her brother and friends are still very much on that journey, there are still unanswered questions but also many discoveries along the way.

Disclaimer: This book was written by my aunt and she does quote me in it.

Paige uses her personal story of pain and suffering to illustrate how God has helped her confront her suffering. She also offers stories of others and how their faith has supported them through tough physical and emotional pain. The book is uplifting and if you suffer with constant pain and discomfort, this book will let you that you are not alone, God is by your side.
