I finished a book. Woop. I'd give this one a solid B. It's ok. the main character has a back bone and I look forward to her restoring magic to it's proper glory

Lam is a coward who has always been picked on--by her family, and by her husband's servants. But when she regains the memories of her previous life, she realizes she was the famous witch Aurora. Now she's using her new memories to take care of her problems and build a new life for herself.

This is pretty much the definition of a popcorn read. The villains are over-the-top, one-dimensional, and easily defeated. Lam keeps flubbing her way into stereotypical romantic encounters, like needing her husband to carry her when she collapses from using too much magic.

I was disappointed the magic system has zero depth and the plot handwaves away the process of Lam teaching modern-day mages (who specialize in a single element) how to use multiple. They just try and it works. She teaches them spells in a single sentence. The book's focus is clearly more on the romantic side, as Lam gradually draws in both her husband and several of the people around him.

Overall it's not bad if you're looking for a light romance. Just don't expect much detail on the magic side. Recommended.

Die Light Novel hat mir wirklich gut gefallen, da sie nicht so schnulzig ist. Auch wenn ich ehrlich sagen muss, dass das ungebührliche Verhalten der Nebencharaktere mir gehörig gegen den Strich geht. Es ist unglaublich, wie widerlich diese sich verhalten und einfach aus ihren Fehlern nicht lernen wollen.

Lam ist zu Beginn eine sehr ruhige, ständig alles ertragende Protagonistin, bis sie ihre Erinnerungen an ihr früheres Leben zurückbekommt. Danach entwickelt sie sich zu einer starken Protagonistin, die sich ihres Umfeldes durchaus bewusst ist. Es gibt in Bezug auf ihr früheres Leben durchaus Entwicklungen, die ich sehr lustig finde, aber mit denen ich in gewissem Maße gerechnet habe. Insbesondere der ihren Ehemann Char betreffend.

Char ist eigentlich ein sehr emotionskalter Mensch, bis er die "neue" Lam kennenlernt und ihre magischen Fähigkeiten. Danach taut er nach und nach auf. Auch ihr Wirken in Bezug auf die Erziehung und den Unterricht der Kinder lässt ihn nicht kalt. Dennoch scheint er in Bezug auf Lam eine weiche Seite zu haben und diese sich langsam zu entwickeln. Die beiden sind schon eine explosive Mischung.

Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie die Geschichte von Lam, Char & Co. weitergeht. Es wird hier sicherlich noch sehr interessante Entwicklungen geben.

Not entirely sure what to think of it. The characters are enjoyable, not the most well fleshed out, but different enough from the genre to remain interesting. The world is intriguing. I always like it when the author does not ignore the inherent oddness of reincarnation (into the future), and highlights the world changed for the worse without immediately telling the reader what happened. On the other hand, the MC is quite over powered to a point that she has very little trouble overcoming the conflicts of the story in at times ridiculous ways. Her only issue is potentially accepting the love and help of others and you wonder whether or not she even needs it. It made the actual plot a bit boring with her just steamrolling opposition which is fine for me if there is some actual slice-of-life or romance stuff filling up the story instead of it being a string of big events. Still, it was a decent enough read, so 3 stars.

This was pretty fun. You definitely have the typical underdog rising up, but it's a meteoric rise once she remembers her past life. While the MC is definitely OP, her physical limitations help to balance it out. I do feel like this isn't a series that could go on very long though. Everything is easy, so the only thing plot worthy is the relationships between characters. Either way, it's still a very easy read and perfect for someone who just wants to be entertained without having to put too much effort into it.

Oh good, romance.

Countess Lam Mercure was having a typical day being bullied by her handmaidens when one of them shoved her so hard that Lam hit her head. Usually this wouldn’t do anything, but Lam regained memories of her past life. Now she can use magic sufficiently and takes on the task of heading the house and other stuff.

At first, her husband was a bit cold since he didn’t know how to approach her while she was her cowardly self. All that changes though since Lam can now use powerful magic. Now she will upturn the world’s standards.

When I started reading this book I thought ok she’s replaced her weak personality with her powerful mage personality. I was actually disappointed with her. She is supposed to have decades of experience with her old and new personalities. But she’s blushing like a 12 year old when she’s touched and allowing herself to be carried around like an infant. I do like the fact that she’s helping the kids and the others. I’m hoping that she grows up fast. I’ll give this series 1 more shot and if she still doesn’t grow up I’m done.

Jesus Christ. So she was bullied for being shy, and the book's solution is to essentially kill her and replace her with someone better? Whom everyone loves, naturally. How is that a happy conclusion? Maybe if you hadn't been such a jerk your original wife might still be alive, Char. Or your second wife. What a prong.

It’s another subpar light novel…everything is so ridiculously easy that it’s boring, and the antagonists are all just brainless cannon fodder. The whole setup of the Mercury family makes no sense, and their teaching style is more likely to create enemies than anything.
