To win this fight, I'll need the help of my friends. First, I'll need to convince them I'm only dead some of the time.
Here's the thing about supernatural cleanup I make it look like work because that's how I get paid. But, honestly, it's easy. I show up, act friendly, get my client out of the way and then do my Veil Witch thing. Until the day comes when, just as I'm about to eject a ghost, I suddenly become one. Yeah, kind of confusing, seeing as the last time I checked I wasn’t dead.
At least, that's what I thought but I soon learn otherwise. Somehow, I've become no longer physical. Like that's not enough to freak me out completely, I discover that other things have changed. My sister and best friend, for example. As witches, they can both see me, but one no longer knows me and one acts like she wishes she didn't. When all seems lost, I finally decide to take that ride through the big old tunnel of light, my expectation being to head off into the afterlife. Instead, I get spit out into Faerie where I'm once again very much alive. Yep, I'm definitely happy, but I'm also confused since things in this realm still seem the same. Or so I think until everything from the weather to the wildlife start acting like they’re possessed. As it turns out, they are, by someone who just laid claim to an ancient and malevolent power. The same someone who went back in time to have me erased. To set things right again may be impossible, but one thing is for sure. I don’t stand a chance without the help of my Shadow Order friends. The problem being, to them I either never existed or I'm already dead.

J.S. Malcom is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Realm Watchers urban fantasy series, of which Autumn Winters is just the beginning. J.S. lives in Richmond, Virginia, a town full of history and ghosts (not to mention, many other supernatural creatures, including Autumn and Cassie).
Cassie is back with her snarky attitude. She went on a supernatural cleaning job. Something went horribly wrong. Somehow, Cassie ended up "erased." No one can see her other than Autumn and Julia. Both had changed significantly from the last time she had seen them. No one else could see her and had no memories of her. Convinced she is dead, she decided to "walk towards the light" and the death realm.
Somehow, she was diverted to the Faerie realm. Once there, she was definitely "alive." All of her friends among the Fae could see her and talk to her.
There were very strange things going on in Faerie. Unexpected weather patterns. Unexplained creatures showed up. Cassie went back to the human realm and told her sister and her friend what was happening. She asked them to recruit their trusted friends, including Beatrice and Regina and Amaya. .They were all transported to Faerie. Together with the townsmen, they defeated a horde of demons. They then saw an army of elves, who had been banished from Faerie ages ago. No one could figure out what was happening. At the end of the book, an elf with veil witch like magic offers to explain what was going on.
This book was a quick read. I didn't want to put it down. You don't have to have read all the previous books before you read this. However, I would advise any who hasn't yet read the previous books to go back and read them. The development of the characters provides a deeper insight into the various relationships. There's a cliffhanger at the end. The author better be fairly quick and release the second installment of The Queen Fae Witch series!
I read an ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. The descriptions and summary comments are mine and mine alone.

Ever wonder what life would be like if you weren't in it...
...well, Cassie's about to find out. Another phenomenal book in the Fae Witch series. I'm always so excited to read another installment of this series. I feel like these characters are family and love reading about the adventures they have. This one is giving some serious It's a Wonderful Life vibes. For reasons (which are explained) Cassie can only interact with her friends as a ghost. I'll be honest it was hard seeing how her friends' lives changed without her in them. But in true Cassie fashion when the Universe tells her she doesn't exist she just doubles down and tells it to hold her beer and watch this! There is so much action and humor in this story, we get to see old friends and meet a new enemy. There's laughter and tears, reunions and intrigue, so much going on that the story just flew by. And what a cliffhanger at the end! I can't wait to read the next one!
I received an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
It was supposed to be a routine job for Cassie. Only, she ends up basically dead, then sucked into Faerie and her life on Earth completely changes, as if she were erased years ago. Determined to make the best of it and solve the mystery that noe surounds her, Cassie starts searching for information... A fae witch with human vocabulary, lots of snark, and hot head is a guarantee of action packed story. Add magic, elves, dragons, demons, many different realms, and a splitting timeline (time travel does not make it justice), and you are welcome to the chaos unleashed on the pages. As this was my first book by the author, I realize painfully hard how developed and complex this world already is, and the need to read the other series, as there are many references to the histories of the characters which I never read about. Big advantage if you did. Nwvertheless, it was a good story and I enjoyed it a lot.
Once I started reading this book, I could NOT stop reading (except for short pauses when my eyes were required to be somewhere other than my reader's screen). It is the perfect blend of action and snark that I greatly enjoy. Plus, no worries about descriptive passages halting the story's momentum. If you have not read the author's other related series, the author has woven in enough back story to explain behaviors and account for events happening in this story. Those that have read any of the previous series will experience a richer tapestry as they devour this book. This book is complete in itself, but the author includes a small little teaser for the next book at the end that had me wishing that this series had already been fully published so that I could zoom through the next book. But then, instead of only a couple hours of sleep that night I wouldn't have gotten any!
Omg. Cassie is back... as a ghost? This story takes some really wicked turns, a couple sharp twists, and ends with a What just happened?! I need the next book now! I don't want to give anything away, so I'm just going to sit here and stew on everything that happened. I feel like I'm gonna need to do that anyway. I don't know where this one is going, while hoping for certain things to be possible, and it's driving me a little crazy. Grab this with both hands. Idk if this story will resonate as well if you haven't read Cassie, also Autumn, Amaya, and Julia, before. Definitely check out the previous series by JS while you wait for the next, if you haven't already.
Cassie goes on a job to get rid of a ghost but something goes wrong. She ends up in Faerie with Esras. But things are going wrong there too. This was an interesting story about different timelines and what can happen to you. In the end she is reunited with the Shadow Order and her sister. They are back and kicking the demons out. Something sad happens as well. Cannot wait until the next book to see if things get corrected. A new character is introduced as well. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. I received an arc and the views and opinions are my own.
Good to have Cassie back even though her bull-headedness drive you crazy. Still my favourite character even though I put it on the back burner for months after the first chapter she really annoyed the annoyed the bejesus out of me. Picked it up again when book 2 arrived an as usual really enjoyed it.
Suddenly switching from a common everyday job into a realm-walking one person wrecking crew, this first volume doesn't disappoint with very well described (even smacking drooling) foreign treats. Um, I would really like to taste some of those!
I always love JS Malcom's adventures... each book is a speedy read for me because I get so wrapped up in the suspense! This one takes some new and wholly unexpected turns. My only complaint is the cliff hanger, but I'm sure the story will continue soon enough. I can't wait!
I enjoyed this book very much. It is the story of a veil witch who suddenly finds herself as a ghost, but with no memory of dying. However, in Faerie, she is very much alive and reunited with the man she loves. It is a very twisted and involved story, and is well worth reading.
This time my heart is broken.. I want to yell that "its not fair!" but that is life here and in the Far realm. Too bad Cassie didn't trust her visions to act much sooner, and now everything is a real mess.
It's just so magical. There's fae, Veil witch, Elves, and a really great plot. It just makes you want to keep reading and reading. The book has amazing characters, I fell in love with them. The plot twists just keep coming and I'm so excited to see what happens next!
