Think twice about who you trust…

Just as the trail gets cold, three strangers offer to help her. But are they truly who they say they are?

A little long, and some jumping around, with the plot(s), but eventually, the story came together.

Spanning several countries, law enforcement agencies, and human traffickers, this story has A LOT going on. Some readers may find it difficult to keep track of the storyline.

Human trafficking is the cusp of the story, which makes it, sadly, very current.

Although human trafficking, rape, assaults, murder, and other criminal activities are mentioned as part of the storyline, they are NOT graphic. More implied than detailed but nevertheless present.

I received a free copy of this book from the author, and I am giving you my honest review. I will be following up with the FIRST book, The Girl Who Ran Away.

This is book two of the Red Heeled Rebels Thriller series and although I haven’t had the chance to read book one, this was easy enough to follow on its own. This is at times both a fun read and also a disturbing read! Its main storyline relies on some horrific truths of sex trafficking and drugs that is true and happening around the world we live in today. Young girls taken or sold for use by others with money and power. The story starts with two young women who have fled from a bad situation. Asha and Katy have stolen some money from their employers, money that was really due to them, and have flown across the world to try and escape from their reaches.

Unfortunately, a sinister looking man has manged to take Katy whilst they are in Heathrow airport and Asha is stopped from following her by security. She manages to evade the border agents who want to lock her up and manages to find traces of her friend, when grabbing a lift from a shifty van driver, who thinks she is actually merchandise to be delivered to a certain address. Getting into the house where Katy is being kept, leaves her in danger of being taken as well and the future they will be forced into, is not a pleasant one!

Other young women are being held there for the sexual gratification of others, and the police out in the square are inefficient and unable to do anything without cause. Asha ends up with the other residents of the house, transported in vans to Europe, along a well-oiled transport link of criminals. They manage to befriend some of those also held in these intense conditions and the story follows them as they try to find a way out of where they have ended up and a chance for a new life. This takes them all over Europe, ending in a castle at a catering gig, where Asha hopes to connect with a well-known baker and her old boss, for their assistance.

Having the youngest of the group turn out to quite the computer genius, allows them to get some payback on those behind the scenes and leads to confusion when police arrive. A great tale of persistence and having to live through a lot of evil, to find true friendship and companionship. Trust is hard earned and has come at a price for all of the Red Heeled Rebels in this tale. An enjoyable read and I wish I had caught book one first. I look forward to the next one and finding out if they can all be saved. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

I'm blown away by this book. The topic is one very close to my heart - human trafficking. Abuse. The things that happen to Asha and her newly found friends are things that are happening as we speak. Right now there are children in fear of their lives, especially girls and young women. They are not treated kindly. They are being killed and tortured in ways we cannot imagine.

Tikiri, you are doing something really good in a world full of hate and violence and intolerance and war. I so hope more and more readers will join this brave lady and many others who are fighting horrible abuse against children, each in their own way. I'm in.

Having said all that, ultimately, this is a book of hope.

Well written, well researched and if this was a movie I do believe it will be a blockbuster.

I strongly recommend this read.

I received the book from the author and try to review every book of fiction I read. Although, technically, this is not fiction...

Asha and Katy have known each other since childhood. They have survived through so much together. They are Inseparatable! I could not turn the pages fast enough to find out what happens next to these two very brave and strong characters. After Katy is abducted at the airport, Asha follows her trail till she finds her with this horrific group of men who are involved in human trafficking, prostitution, drug smuggling traveling from London to Luxembourg. This story has intense moments of cruelty and you will become very emotional over some of the situations that happen. But this is happening today in our world. Thank you to the Author for sharing this story. 5 stars from me. I will be following and reading your other books as well .I received this book for free from Ebook Discovery .I volunteered to review it. This is my honest review.

😱 Exciting and action-packed from beginning to end, I really enjoyed this well-written and fast-paced continuation of Asha's odyssey across the globe in search of a better life. I have not yet read the prequel or book one in the series, but I will now! And the author provided enough brief snippets of background information from the previous stories that it was easy to pick up the action and characters to read this as a standalone, though there are still major issues unresolved at the book's end.

Asha, the heroine, is loyal to her family and friends and willing to bend the rules to keep herself and them safe. This story deals with human trafficking and the women are sold into modern day sexual slavery, but, for the most part, the author stays away from graphic details. That's not to say the violence and cruelty of the traffickers is glossed over or ignored, just that the nitty gritty details of the women's sexual exploitation are mostly left to the reader's imagination.

As Asha, the main heroine, finds her way from one dangerous situation to another, she gathers a band of friends. They pool their individual strengths and rely on one another and, at times, the goodness of strangers. But the traffickers aren't the only undesirables they meet. A snooty, jealous chef, drug traffickers, unsympathetic immigration officers and indifferent or corrupt police also throw obstacles in their path. The tendency to punish the victims of trafficking as prostitutes and/or illegal migrants and let their traffickers slip free to find more victims is a sad truth even today when most governments have signed international agreements to prevent trafficking and protect its victims.

I didn't think I could do it, but I read this story in one day. I just could not put it down. There were one of two places, particularly in the extensive description of the decor and dining in a lavish castle, where the story bogged down a bit, but overall this was a great read with plenty of action, interesting characters and brilliant glimpses into the ways society promotes exploitation of vulnerable women and children throughout the globe, in wealthy and developing nations alike. The explanations of how these women and children were drawn into labor and sex trafficking were true to life and this series is a useful tool to bring these practices to light.

I read a complimentary copy of this book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

The Red Heeled Rebels series is turning out better than I could have imagined. I think that's because each book grows up with the protagonist in much the way Harry Potter books got more sophisticated as he grew up. The prequel and the first book are definitely aimed at a younger crowd; they would be suitable for young teen girls giving them a gentle look at the world in which they live. That world is not a very nice one. A young girl, growing up in a loving family, cannot begin to imagine how that world might change if she was suddenly orphaned.

ABDUCTED is more a new adult novel than a young adult novel. The language is a bit grittier and the dangers are more clearly defined. Alongside the dark side of life are snippets of fairytale princess, moments of life as it should be. It is pretty amazing to read how a friendship family can form in a matter of days under some pretty dire circumstances.

The story of the red-heeled rebels relies heavily on a certain naivete voiced by Asha as she moves from situation to situation. She entertains thoughts that I, as an adult, see as moving the story along in a way that feels superficial. However, her naivete is well balanced by other characters who have experienced first-hand the horrors life has to offer. Overall, this approach works well in getting the point across that we live in a dangerous world, and in dangerous times. This series presents a warning to girls that their vulnerabilities can be and are exploited by the real life monsters around us.

Holy smokes! Well done! So I got this book as an ARC and seen it was part of a series. I decided to go back and read the first book which I then learned there was a prequel, of course back to that I go. I am SO glad I did. Going back to 'Beginnings' just makes this whole story around Asha that much more amazing and appreciative of her character. You can read this book and find it as a great adventure of a girl who goes in search for her best friend as she is abducted out of the London airport which they are in as they are running away from their bosses/drug dealers. I found this book both compelling once you started it and heartbreaking on the eye opening experiences that Asha and her new friends encounter in trying to get away from slavery, drug dealers and a sex ring. Asha is also trying to get back to her cousin Preeti and reunite with the only blood family she has left.
I have never read a book that explores all the dark and dangerous topics of this world in such a well written and intriguing way before. Once you pick this book or even this series, prepare to unplug from the your world and step into Asha's, she will take you along on her crazy adventures that she calls life. I cannot wait for Exiled - Book 3 to see who Asha meets and all the adventures that befall her.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an ARC for Hidden Gems.

When is the next book? Cannot wait any longer to see what happens to the RED HEELED REBELS. I want to know if I get the ending that I think the story line is going.

I have plans to but the whole series when done so I can share with people. It will encourage anyone to know that they have an inner strength and are allowed to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have not read this seires Please start with Beginings and read in order.
This book just continues, moves really fast, and you will find yourself rooting for the RHRs. The book still deals with major currrent issues that our planet needs to acknnowledge and deal with.

I am left with too many questiosn and no answers yet. Who really is the Dragon Lady and why does she not acknoledge our hero? Does her idol come to the rescue in the end and what coountry is the shop? Now these are just a few and probably way off track.

A I can say is read the series and Ms. Author please bring the next one soon.

I received a free copy of this book from Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review.

Human trafficking is an issue that is very close to my heart, so when I got the chance to review this book, I jumped at it. Abducted by Tikiri Herath kept me engaged from the get-go. A very honest and uncomfortable look into the world of human trafficking, this book is not for the faint of heart, but well worth the read if you can handle it. The book tackles many aspects of human trafficking from forced labor to forced marriage to sex slavery, without being overly graphic. I think everyone should read at least one book on the topic, maybe then we could eliminate this horror from our planet.

This is the second book in the Red Heeled Rebels series and I will definitely be going back to read the first.

Two girls have stolen from drug dealers and gone on the run to save themselves, but also to rescue a friend recently sold off as a wife in India. At the first stop over in London one of the girls, Kate, is abducted and their plans are upended in a foreign land. Asha must find and rescue her friend and get the rescue mission back on track.
This is a fast paced thriller. We are treated to some exotic locations mixed with dire dives. It also touches on the current issue of the slave trade and child prostitution.
All in all a good read.

Amazing Series
“The Girl Who Made Them Pay” continues the intriguing journey began in “The Girl Who Ran Away”, with Asha and Katy leaving Canada. Along the way, Asha adds to her circle with others to become the Red-Heeled Rebels. Continuing on her journey Asha helps others even as they draw trouble no matter what they do. This story moves at a very fast pace, with drama, action, suspense, and twists. This tale has complex, well-developed characters that you will fall in love with. I love this tale.

This is a thrilling and intriguing read. I loved every bit of it, I find it hard to put down. The story of Asha continues, as she tries to go back to Goa to rescue her cousin. Family if the heart

Asha and Katy are in London but things go wrong immediately. Katy is kidnapped and Asha strikes out in a lot of dangerous manners to find her. Along the way she meets Tatyana, Win and Luc who all form a very unique group. The baking still played a role and was vividly described as were the red shoes for all of them! The ending had danger and tense moments with an unexpected ending. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
