"Nick Ryan knows his craft, and his topic. His World War 3 stories are tightly-written, fast-moving, with great characters."
- LARRY BOND
Co-author of Tom Clancy's 'Red Storm Rising' and New York Times bestselling author of 'Red Phoenix'

The Devil’s Detail are a company-strength PMC (Private Military Company) comprising grizzled combat vets aged in their forties and fifties who have been recruited from America and allied countries. Funded and financed by the CEO of Devereaum Holdings, the Devils are tasked with protecting the company’s assets in Germany. They muster on the outskirts of Berlin – just as the Russian Army reaches the Polish border and the German capital becomes threatened.

Ordered on an innocuous mission to evacuate Devereaum Holdings civilian staff from a small border village south of the battlefront before the Russians attack, the Devil’s Detail soon find themselves fighting for their lives in a battle that could well decide the fate of the entire war effort in Europe.

FOGS, A group of retired veteran warriors, private contractors charged with evacuating civilians

With trucks filled with the Devil's Detail roared onto the west German hamlet on the Russian border. With enough room and supplies to evacuate 80 civilian employees from the town. About to be overrun by the advancing Russian armored Personnel Carriers, the bridge across the border river was being crossed by the first of 80 Russian APCs. With only 4 fire-and-forget missile launchers and a few reloads, the old men of the Devil's Detail fought to protect the town and its citizens from the surprise Russian incursion into Allied territory.
Authentic action and grim determination echo from every page. Impossible to put down until the last bullet flies, this war torn tale smells of violent death and bloody savaged bodies. Excellent displays of heroism amid loss and brutality fill every chapter. This is a great read!

Devil's Detail by Nick Ryan is an action-packed World War III techno-thriller that follows a battle-hardened group of veteran private military contractors on a high-stakes mission along the Poland-Germany border. What begins as a routine rescue operation quickly spirals into a deadly confrontation, testing these seasoned warriors' grit and survival instincts. Packed with relentless action, tactical combat, and a gritty portrayal of modern warfare, Devil’s Detail delivers a thrilling ride for fans of military adventure and PMC thrillers. As usual, this short book, which is under 200 pages, packs a punch. The book was so gripping that I finished it in a few hours.

Devils detail

Good storyline and a well researched book by Mr. Ryan. A fast read easy to read but hard,to put down. It was interesting to see how the soldiers even, though they were past there prime they fault as a team, there skills showed from there training, and they were willing to die to finish the mission. Can't wait to read others,by this, author.

An action packed adventure for a group of over the hill PMCs. Set on the border of Poland and Germany, this rescue operation turns deadly on this brave bunch of OGs. Couldn't put this down. Good reading. Very good writing. Seems to be well researched.

fast read

Moves fast… darn good read .
Shows that old soldiers are not expendable, but valuable assets.
Actual US weapons are used and demonstrate ease of use.

Germany

Nicely written. Having been deployed on both the German and Polish borders it brought back memories weapons employment seemed realistic

This one was awesome

I liked the development of the characters and the plot. The characters remind me of my fellow grunts back in the 70s. Page turner story for me.

Sic semper tyrannis

Good Read. Once again allied ingenuity saves the day, and Russia continues to live down to its description of “a third world country with nuclear weapons.”
