Wow. This book is so good!!! I never wanted to put it down. It seemed like there was something going on at every page and the way that Holly wrote the characters lives, provided their backstories and then tied them all together was just perfection.
It was such a good return for me to books that keep you guessing of characters true intentions. Of how actions can have true, devastating consequences, even if they’re not your own and ugh. The relationships. The development of the relationships. This book is a big yes for me and I already cannot wait for the next book. I can’t wait to see where this road leads for them

This book is AMAZING and so well written. It keeps your attention every step of the way and it is a page turner for sure. The setting is beautiful and the characters are so strong and well written. You are completely wrapped up in their lives and cannot wait to see where the journey takes each one of them. Holly Chambers has woven a masterful tale showing that choices have consequences even if those choices were made by others. The dialogue is well written and you quickly decide who your favorite character and root for them as you dive deeper into the mysteries surrounding Thorneia Academy. I look forward to reading again and to the next book in the series. I must know where this road leads and the many secrets that have yet to be revealed.

This book surprised me in the best way. I couldn’t stop reading once I started. The writing was so smooth, and the story pulled me in fast. I really liked how all the characters felt so real and strong. There’s a lot of tension and mystery that made me want to keep turning the pages. The way everything connects — the past, the choices, the relationships — was very well done. Some parts made me stop and think, others gave me chills. I loved that it wasn’t easy to guess what people were hiding or what they would do next. This was my first book from Holly Chambers, and I’m already excited for the next one in the series. A very enjoyable read. Thank you so much to the author and Twisted Tale for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.

Okay, I want no judgement on how long this took me to read but I read a lot of other books for my author work, so forgive me Holly!!
This book… I am in awe. How she kept all of the character’s lives straight, I have no idea. There was so much content to this book, and so many things that kept me gasping and intrigued to read more.
The interactions between the characters was unique to each. The banter between Ninandra and Jaspar. The tension between Khalid and Adelheid. The sibling-esque relationship between Khalid and Dahlia.
And many more I won’t say for spoilers!
The writing was so well thought out, and I cannot WAIT to dive into the second one and see where this one left off, because…

The History of Thorneia #1 in the Thorneia Academy series by Holly K. Chambers is a riveting read full of exquisite settings, plot twists, and complex characters. Chambers weaves together the characters' lives in unexpected ways that are often unpredictable and always worth the payoff. I found myself lost in the world Chambers created and happy to be there, always turning the page to find out what would happen next. If you love uncovering dark secrets, enemies to lovers (and lovers to enemies), and character motivations that keep you guessing, this book is for you!

Holly creates the wonderful world of Thorneia, which is filled with tradition, revenge, betrayal, renewal, and magic.
The characters are so well written, and each back story is so in-depth. You feel like you understand their struggles and ambitions.
The book is so riveting I couldn't put it down. I truly didn't know what was going to happen next. If you like enemies to lovers, forbidden magic, heroism, and drama, you won't be able to put it down.

this book is truly amazing, i had such a fun time reading from the very first page all the way until the end. the characters are beautifully fleshed out and complex, each with a captivating personality and story to be told. i can’t wait for the second book in the series!!!!
