The town called Hate has no idea of the onslaught of violence and savagery that Edge is about to unleash. The wisecracking loner makes it his mission to clean up the town after being threatened by its ruthless ruler and his gang of dangerous thugs. Full of over the top western mayhem and liberally peppered with Edge’s classic quips and one liners.

A lumber Mill, a quiet looking town Edge strolls in, into a town called Hate. The town, the buildings, the flowers all pristine. Mr Corners owns the Mill, the hotel, the bank, the pub he swindled the townsfolk out of everything, he is the sheriff and the Judge. A man spitting in the street is hung, his neck snapped, the townsfolk made to watch. Edge will smash his fists in a man's balls, kneeing him in the face, Edge's pants turn a bright red, the man's nose has the bone protruding through. He will then squeeze a trigger, the bullet smashing into the heart, bursting it out the back. His sleep will be interrupted so he slashes a man flowing a river of blood. The town want to get rid of Corners and Edge will kindly oblige for a nice amount of money. Corners skull will cut like cardboard through the mill's saw as the onlookers vomit profusely. Nice to get back to the maniac Edge after the last dud.

Proper pulp action. Low on characterisation, high on action. But what more do you want? It's a somewhat nasty little actioner, the violence is as bloody as it comes, but again, why not? Mind you, for a man with no humour, so we're told, Edge doesn't half enjoy a Bond-like capacity for punnish quips as people die.
I'd cheerfully read more.

Edge rides into a town once known as Hate. Now it's named after the man who owns most of it, Corners. He's a mean controlling man that has people hung for the simplest things. Seems Edge and Corners don't see eye to eye, and things start to get deadly. Add to this the townies want Edge to kill Corners and start fresh.

The premise on this one was too silly, so it was a slog to get through. Bad guy owns a town and all its cowardly townspeople, Edge arrives and evens things out. Lots of inexplicable delays in getting the job done, however, presumably to make the book last. This should have been a short story at best. The nasty niece character is also just ridiculous. Overall too far-fetched to be enjoyable.

The usual fast paced Edge novel. Edge remains the same sociopathic character, so the books are consistent in that way. An easy read. The cover on this one has edge wearing a necklace of beads, upon which the razor is strung, but in this image they look like Mardi Gras beads.
