Hockey Sweethearts #8

A Tiny House Christmas: A Runaway Bride Christmas Romance

Rate this book
A beautiful bride with cold feet.

Feet that are running straight out the small town church doors and away from the wedding she didn’t plan.

With her wedding gown flapping in the cold December wind, Karlene gallops to the town’s limits on a “borrowed” horse.

Only one person anticipates her next her steady-as-a-rock childhood crush—her brother’s best friend. He’s six years her senior, and a man who’s never minded her tagging along. Instinctively, Joey knows where Karlene’s going and what she needs. He sets her up with a fresh horse to a bed roll so she can hide out at their old camping cabin far from what will surely be a very dramatic Christmas with her parents and almost-in-laws.

However, her plans hit an unexpected snag, but, once again, Joey comes to the rescue, offering her safe haven on his ranch.

As Karlene spends the holidays with her secret-crush cowboy, will he begin to see her as more just a grown-up version of that tag-along kid she used to be? And will the magic of the season bring her heart its deepest wish as well as a second chance at love?

This is a sweet Christmas romance novella with a runaway bride, a cowboy, an older brother's best friend, an age gap, and of course true love!

I've so enjoyed this series and all the characters. I loved Karlene and Joey's story. She loves him as a teenager but she was his best friends sister and 6 years younger. He doesn't realize how he feels about her until he almost loses his chance with her. I found their story captivating and Iread it straight through. A really great short story.

Runaway Bride

Karlene was standing in the back of the church ready to walk down the aisle one minute and then on the back of her horse the next racing through town. What had she just done? What was she thinking?

This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.

I love the characters. Karlene was put in a tough situation and got out in dramatic fashion.

This short but sweet story shows that you should follow your heart. Karlene runs from her wedding and when the dust settles it really is the best decision for everyone. Her family doesn't understand at first but they eventually realise that she didn't mean to embarrass them but she had to follow her heart.

I think it is way more courageous to run away before you get married then after. Loved how dramatic her run away was - made the book way more interesting LOL. Such a sweet book - it is obvious to more than one person that Karlene and Joey always belonged together. Really liked how the groom responded.
