At the age most kids are going to school and learning language skills, the boy is unaware that he is anything other than another creature in the forest surviving day by day as he wanders the woods in search of food and safety.
Sleeping in trees or with other forest animals is not just a home for the boy; it's a part of him. He has grown up among these neighbors, some of whom he's befriended, some of whom he's learned to avoid, and some of whom he fears.
