Beyond Time Travel - Exploring Our Parallel Worlds: Amazing Real Life Stories in the News

Rate this book
The idea of parallel universes has come to the fore in recent years and is now considered by many to be one of our most exciting possibilities, not only in the realms of fantasy and science fiction entertainment, but also in the field of solid mainstream scientific theory. The Many Worlds Interpretation The concept that our universe may not be the only universe, but that there are millions, billions, trillions - indeed an infinite amount - of other universes became a serious proposition for mainstream science in 1957 when the respected physicist Hugh Everett III came out with his Multiple Worlds Interpretation. In short, Everett suggested that the only way to explain certain strange phenomenon in quantum mechanics was that there had to be other universes existing parallel to our own. The ‘Many Worlds’ scenario in turn implies that all possible alternative histories are real, each representing an actual ‘world’ or ‘universe’. This means that everything that could possibly have happened in our past, but did not, has occurred in the past of some other universe or universes. The implications of ‘Many Worlds’ for each of us is astounding. It means that every one of us has not only a ‘twin’ existing right now in a parallel universe, but a countless number of twins in universes that expand in all directions infinitely, as well as backwards and forward in time! As astounding and outlandish as Hugh Everett’s Many Worlds Interpretation seems, a recent survey showed that the vast majority of physicists and scientists today accept it as ‘most likely true’ - in fact 83% of them, according to a recent survey of the world’s top 1,200 physicists. Stories The fact that parallel universes is most likely a reality can explain a lot of strange phenomenon, and a lot of bizarre experiences as reported by every day, ordinary people. A lot of these stories have ended up in the mainstream media - and more than a few in the so-called ‘alternative media’. These stories range from the UFO phenomena to reports of contacts with fairy folk, or creatures so strange there is no precedent or explanation for them. Parallel universes have been frequently cited as a way to explain the elusiveness of Bigfoot. It also plays a role in the practice of remote viewing - the psychic spying technique developed by both U.S. Military and Soviet Union intelligence operations. Parallel universe theory may also explain some strange occurrences that simply defy category. In this book, we are going to explore some of those stories - those that made it into the mainstream media and, almost certainly, a few you have never heard about anywhere else. Contents * Unexpected Slips into Other Worlds * The Man from a Non-Existent Country * The Strange Tale of the Gadianton Canyon * Energy Sphere Transportation * Unexpected Slips from Other Worlds * Portals to Parallel Worlds * The Chocolate City * The Multiple Individual Experiencing a Multidimensional World

Many Doors Many Experiences

Another short book but filled with alternate realities! Parallel Time and Multi Universes are real and I thoroughly enjoyed the stories. I appreciated Monroe, and Seth Robert’s. Many others everyday! Thank you.

ebook.
The author starts off with talking about Plato (350 B.C.) and the story of the shadow in the cave and the reality that lies beyond the shadow. He then moves on to talk about how some people believe there are "veils between the worlds" such as at Halloween when spirits are supposed to be able to pass between realities.
The author also addresses the issue of people who go missing and that maybe a small number of them accidentally end up in another reality and are unable to get back to this one. He has examples of people who have appeared in this reality that didn't seem to actually belong here and were quite confused at being here.
He even talks about an example of someone driving and seeing a lizard man on the road which is not impossible if you have a reality where the dinosaurs did not die out but evolved to eventually become intelligent bipeds

He didn't point out that a 'slip between realities' could explain such mysteries as the loss of Flight 19 and various other planes and ships that have gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle and other places. (Not the "could" explain.) This is also a theme that has been used in various television shows such as Fringe where the two realities threatened to smash into each other.

There is a theological problem to consider, also. If we exist in a multitudes of selves spread across a multitude of parallel realities then does the human soul exist in pieces, or is there a separate soul for each form of ourselves that exists in different realities?

Also, what would cause a hole of some kind to appear between realities allowing someone or something to cross between them? Further, what would happen if some microbe crossed the realities and infected people here? Also, could UFOs not be from other planets but from a parallel reality where the human race was more technically advanced than we are?

Actual rating would be 3.5 stars

I bought the kindle version of this book as I was doing some research for a new book I am writing on Lucid Dreaming.

I found it totally fascinating, even though most of it is based on anecdotal evidence, and it would have been better if there were more scientific studies cited.

That said, I really enjoyed it and it did give me some ideas and thoughts to play around with.

I wish there was more proof then a few stories.

A good book to read if you're just beginning to think about the universe(s). The people experiencing other universes have no proof but I found them interesting stories and if they are true, the world as we know it is changed forever, at least our view of it.

Beyond time travel!

What an interesting read... very enjoyable to read, lots of interesting and thought provoking information presented. I liked the fact that most individuals who were described were either utterly ordinary or of a reputable background. Likely to read the sequel.
