This was truly a blessing to read this book and I pray that it reaches millions and will transform lives. I had the privilege to hear the original message in the sermon preached in 2023 at Transformation Conference and I remember being very moved and touched by the message. This book is an extension of the sermon preached from the depths of Charles on that stage several years ago. Charles has always been transparent in his preaching so I know that ai would also get that in this book as well. Sharing your love experience your calling and your gifts is not always easy but I’m glad Pastor Charles stepped out on faith to give us an extension of himself. Amazing book and I can’t say enough about the people that will be uplifted when read. Overall 5 stars and I will recommend to everyone Thanks to Waterbrook and Multnomah via Netgalley for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Through his personal anecdotes and biblical insights, Metcalf encourages readers to disconnect from worldly values and connect with God's supernatural purpose.
I strongly recommend this book to anyone, who has to opportunity to lay a hand on it. Don’t pass it off.
Wow! One of the most inspiring, thought-provoking books I’ve ever read. Great reminder that no matter what you’ve been through or what you may still go through, God chose you for this journey. He will use the broken, ugly pieces of your story just as much as the beautiful ones.
Metcalf’s writing is open and vulnerable; uplifting without being preachy. He shares his own experiences and values along with Biblical principles through his simple, honest writing. This inspirational, easy to read, and affirming book captured me. I couldn’t put it down, finishing it in one day.
How wonderful to know that God chose me “just as I am” in spite of “who He is” in all His majesty! This book left me inspired to choose myself just the way God chose me!
I highly recommend for anyone struggling with life or unsure of his/her purpose. Open this book and your heart to let God in and to let Him change your perspective on your life and your purpose. God chose you! Let Him use you to glorify His name!
A great reminder with some introspective questions to ask yourself!
I found the book a bit distant (not saying Metcalf wasn’t already being vulnerable), but I wished he had gone more into detail in certain aspects of his life. For instance, when he first opened his ministry? How did that process go to know he was called into ministry? Did the "God chose me" factor into it?
Some of the chapters were a little long, but this wasn’t a bad read. For the inquisitive readers, some passages delve into scientific facts. Personally, I skimmed over those, but it will definitely appeal to some.
Bonus points for the yellow theme. It's my favorite color. The family photoshoot on the back is also fitting.
I actually really enjoyed listening to this audiobook! I'm not the biggest fan of Michael Todd, but I loved Charles' story, and his journey from struggling with self image and mental health to having "unshakable confidence" through Christ Jesus. Your identity is not something that you build, it's something you receive from God. This book is full of uplifting messages that come from scripture, that we all have purpose and are made in God's image.
"God doesn't choose the "polished" version of you; He chose the person sitting in the dark."
"We were created to be fully loved, fully accepted, and fully cared for. We were created to be seen, valued, and loved. We were created to be CHOSEN."
Thank you Netgalley and Waterbrook publisher. What an honor it was to read God Chose Me by Charles Metcalf III. I watched as Pastor Charles delivered a sermon with this same title. When I discovered he wrote a book with the same title I couldn't wait to read it. This book is amazing. the author is so transparent as he shared stories of his life while also penning a message of encouragement. Regardless of the title, I believe people of all life stages can find something valuable in this book. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. I give this book a glowing 5 stars.
I love the vulnerability of Pastor Charles in this book. His personal experiences along with the word of God made it a life changing read. I am an older Christian but there were many inferences in this book that nurtured or removed thoughts in my mind. We are always growing in God if we desire so, and this book inspired me to accept and be content in my growth regardless of my age or aspirations. God bless you brother Charles as you continue your journey in Him.
This book was a really great read! It was a good reminder that no matter what you’ve been through or what you will go through, God chose you for that journey. He will use the broken pieces of your story just as much as He will use the beautiful ones you love to share. God chose you and He will use you to glorify His name!
I received an advanced readers copy of this book but all opinions expressed are my own.
I read this book in two days. One of the best spiritual books I've read. Thought-provoking, motivational, and inspiring. Through much of it, i felt he was speaking directly to me, esp chapter 15. It was easy to read. I highly encourage anyone who struggles with life on life's terms to pick this book up!
Words cannot grasp the vast amount of emotions I feel for this book! All in the best ways! It truly opens one’s eyes to the beauty of who God is and living the purpose of a true Christian. I’ve already recommended this book to so many people. It can absolutely change one’s perspective on life into something beautiful and lively.
An inspiring read indeed! Metcalf has recounted his own experiences, values and Biblical principles in simple honest writing. It's quite reassuring to know that God chooses people 'just as they are', in spite of 'who He is' (or how awesome He is!).
100% recommend this to everyone who needs that push to chose themselves the way God does - this book speaks to your core and pulls out what you need to say yes like Charles did!
Straightforward and very simple to understand! I loved this book and enjoyed every chapter! Page 147 -I Can Get Back Up Because… So many reasons why I will get back up again! Thank you, Charles Metcalf for making this message so simple, true and clear. God chose me!
Top 5 favorite book of all time. Deep Christian roots. Logical reasoning and sound commentary. Author motivates you to take action. I couldn’t put it down. Purchased multiple copies and mailed to all my friends. Must read for believers and unbelievers.
At the end of the book Charles reveals a letter he wrote to himself. I often think about that when writing to your childhood self but he did that for his adult self and I thought that was so powerful. Sometimes we can forget the recent faithfulness of God and have to remind ourselves of it.

This book was exactly what I needed. I feel a shift in my confidence (and anxiety) knowing that God Chose Me. I am enough, and I don’t have to do this on my own. Thank you for this, Pastor Charles.
I loved this book! I was there for conference when Pastor Charles preached this message! So powerful! This book was no different! I cannot wait for the next book!
