Larchdown Valley #4

Trusting the Fall

Rate this book
Sometimes accidents happen that were meant to be...

Alex
Meeting Josh is like being doused with a bucket of cold water: both shocking and exhilarating. I've never met anyone like him before. He doesn't mind my lack of experience and offers to teach me even though he made it clear that we could never be anything more. But I discover another side to him, one that tugs at my heart until I'll stop at nothing to keep him safe.

Josh
Never slow, never stop, keep moving. This is my motto for keeping safe.
Falling has been my forte, quite literally due to my dyspraxia, and when a fall lands me in a strange village, I find myself falling for the super cute and super sweet local barista. Being alone has kept me safe so I know I can't trust anyone. But the longer I stay the harder it becomes to stay true to my motto. I'm tired of trying to survive all on my own but there's no way I want to put Alex and this quiet village in danger.

Trusting the Fall is a sweet but steamy MM Romance featuring an local barista inexperienced in love and a disabled young man running away from his father. Check content warnings with look inside or on the authors website. It is the fourth book in the Larchdown Valley Series set in a British village all with no 3rd act breakup and a guaranteed HEA.

"Trusting the Fall" is a beautiful story that blends love, personal growth, and the cozy charm of a close-knit English village. It’s part of the Larchdown Valley series, but it holds up perfectly as a standalone.

This was my first experience with Jem Wendel’s writing, and wow—I’m blown away! I have to admit, with some embarrassment, that this book sat on my TBR pile for way too long. Oh, silly me! Jem, I owe you an apology for not diving in sooner.

The story follows Alex, a sweet, slightly shy coffee shop owner, and Josh, a snarky but endearing wanderer with a challenging past. Both have their walls: Alex is still working through the scars left by childhood bullying, while Josh hides behind humor and keeps his distance, shaped by a life on the run and his struggles with dyspraxia. Their differences spark playful banter, but beneath it lies a connection that’s heartfelt and deeply vulnerable.

What really stands out in this book is the perfect balance of lightness and depth. The chemistry between Alex and Josh is delightful—it’s charming and fun at first, but as they grow closer, their trust and understanding take center stage. This is more than just a romance; it’s a journey of learning to let go of fear and embrace what they both truly deserve. Seeing Alex’s confidence bloom and Josh finding a place where he belongs is so rewarding.

The village setting is another highlight, full of warmth, acceptance, and a dash of humor. It’s the kind of place where people come together when it counts, and the supporting characters add just the right amount of wisdom and personality without stealing the spotlight.

This is a romance that hits all the right notes: emotional depth, clever dialogue, and steamy chemistry. The way Josh’s backstory is resolved feels thoughtful and satisfying, and the ending? Absolute perfection. What a fantastic HEA!

Jem Wendel has created a world and characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Trusting the Fall is a heartwarming, memorable read that I highly recommend.

Don’t wait as long as I did—dive in now!

This is ARC review, soooooo delayed :D Sorry, Jem :(

Trusting the Fall is part of the wonderful Larchdown Valley series. I am a HUGE fan of these books, and TTF is no exception!
When Johan (from Bridging the Gap) discovers Josh trespassing, worse for wear after an encountering a prickly dog rose bush, his attempts to help the injured stranger leads to an unexpected turn of events
Both MCs are younger, and there’s a playfulness to their initial interactions. Josh’s offer to teach blushing, innocent Alex a thing or two about a thing or two was surprisingly sweet. And Alex letting Josh help at his coffee shop in Luca and Jackson’s garden is lovely. The easy rhythm they fall into taking orders and making pasties is wholesome, with an undercurrent of deep longing.
They’re both initially wary, Josh because of his disability and past, Alex bearing the scars of school bullying. Josh hides behind snarky banter and leaving before he gets too attached. Alex is a people pleaser who wants love, but is afraid to let people get close.
Alex - what a darling man. My heart hurt for him and how classmates’ casual cruelty skewed this sensitive soul’s self-image. He just blossoms when Josh says he’s cute. There’s a moment, after completing some “homework” from Josh when Alex bursts into laughter - and it’s amazing.
These lonely, lovely men take a chance on love, and Larchdown is better because of it.
Josh and Alex are young, so I loved the maturity in the way they communicated. They were so protective of their own fragile hearts, but when they realized a statement could be misinterpreted they were quick to offer clarity.
When Josh’s past rears its head in a surprising way, I was all for it. The resolution is so satisfactory! (And did I catch the hint of a future couple?)
I loved seeing Cole and Luca again - bathed in contentment, but still the wonderfully unique characters I fell in love with.
This book totally stands alone, but reading in order adds a depth and nuance to the way all the characters relate. And the HEA? Trust me, once you discover this idyllic village you won’t want to let go.
Absolutely amazing! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Trusting the Fall - 🌟🌟🌟🌟

So good to be back in the wonderful village of Larchdown with all the inhabitants that featured in Jem’s previously released books. Luca & Jackson from the Big House, Keith & Ben from the Bakery, Cole & Johan (Vet and animal rescuers) and Cole’s wonderful Mom, Annie Walker.

‘Trusting the Fall’ is Alex Lawton’s story. He’s just started running the Coffee & Pastry shop in the grounds of Luca and Jackson’s Larchdown House and is doing so well even though it’s just a seasonal shop when the gardens are open to the public.

When Johan (the gorgeous Swede in Book 2) was out riding his horse he came across a ragged vagrant who had stumbled into a thorny bush and fallen across an electric fence. Mortified, but very mouthy in his discomfort, a lot of cheeky, sassy words were exchanged.

When Johan introduces him, said vagrant gives his name quickly as John. This being Larchdown the soul of kindness, John Is brought back to the farm to wash and get rid of his ripped clothing and his wounds from thorns seen to by Annie.

John, a damaged, and very hurt young man is very distrustful of everyone. It hurts when Johan, Cole and Annie show him such kindness, and he wants to run away because of the lies he told them. He also has dyspraxia which makes him very accident prone.

When Annie asks John to help her delivery Cornish Pasties to Alex’s Coffee shop, he goes reluctantly, never expecting that this will have such an impact on him. He can’t believe that he offers to help out there and soon he is swapping sassy sexy banter with Alex who has never even been on a date.

Fearful of the dangers John’s presence could bring to these wonderful people he plans to get out of town asap. But he leaves it too late and the lives of Larchdown’s finest citizens are threatened and bullets fly.

‘Trusting the Fall’ is grittier than Jem’s previous books in the series and the suspense had me on tenterhooks but I also had much laughter at the sexy banter between John and Alex and the way John wound up Johan & Cole with his cheeky innuendos.

I loved the scene where Alex takes John for a walk down to the Willow Tree by the River. (Swoon) 🥰.
I feel Jem has introduced another new character here who might get to tell us why he hasn’t been to visit his own Mom for ages.

At 260 pages this was a fast easy read with just the right amount of romance and suspense. The whole series so far gives all the warm feels, and my favourite is Book 3, Harlan & Duncan’s story, who don’t feature here at all 😞. This whole series has given me many hours of reading pleasure, so go get your copy of all 4 books to enjoy.

I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my freely given honest review.

The last few days have been difficult, a bittersweet mix of delight and regret, and I’m starting to feel things I thought were impossible.

This was a new-to-me author, and I admit I made the jump into this book without even considering reading books 1-3 to catch myself up in the series! I think the author did a good job of bringing in the supporting characters from the previous books without making it too confusing if you pull a me and do the same.

There's a little mystery/intrigue behind one of our main characters, as well as a and really interesting rep for dyspraxia (which I admit I google'd, even though I'm a nurse and know nurse things - hey, theres a lot of dys-'s and -ia's in the medical world!) I love a unique character!

If you love 1 part small town romance, 1 part contemporary m/m (with a Tbsp of angst) this should be an enjoyable read!

I was given an ARC of this story but the review is allllll my own <3

Sweet

These two were perfect for each other.
Josh/John is on the run from his past.
He finds himself slightly injured and in need of help.
He grudgeingly accepts with the intention to scarper as soon as he can.
What he doesn't count on is the unfailing kindness of the people who are helping him.
He's been running and alone for so very long, and he just wants a rest.
Meeting Alex is a revelation.
There's instant attraction between them, but Josh/John fights it as much as he can.
He's terrified of his past coming to roost.
Alex is very much up for Josh/John's proposal to help teach him about sex with a friends with benefits scenario.
Alex doesn't think he's worthy of anything more than that.
Both are afraid of being hurt but ever so slowly succumb to the feelings their fighting.
I loved the snarky banter between them, and I absolutely loved the found family aspect and all the village characters who accepted Josh/John and stood up for him.

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS!💕

I love this little town Larchdown Valley in the beautiful world created by this amazing author!

It started in the spring 🍃🌼when a lost, broken soul found a safe harbour accidentally and found an unexpected love in the fall…. 🍂🍁

I absolutely loved Josh as a sassy, sweet and funny character who basically swept sweet, cuddly and innocent Alex off his feet!

They were just so sweet together the way Josh taught Alex how to appreciate himself and some other… naughty things😈🍩and how Alex showed Josh he sees him and and accepts him!

The way the community accepted Josh into the fold and stood by and protected him from the danger he ran away from was awe inspiring and heartwarming!

A sweet and engaging read with endearing characters as with all the books of the series!
All five star reads!

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for an honest non biased review.

Book 4 in the Larchdown series is such a sweet story of finding your people.
Josh is on the run from his past, family and all the darkness that is following him, but he is also trying to hide a disability that is not his fault.
Alex is trying to move on from his childhood teasing, living his dream and wanting freedom.
When Josh finds himself hurt in, what happens to end up being the best place for him, he finds people who will accept him with his faults, believe in him, and even love him.
Alex finds someone who sees him as the beautiful person he is, helps him grow and build his dream, and finds more in his small town than even he knew was there.
I love this series and cannot recommend them enough for a sweet found family.

Both josh and Alex are so easy to love from the beginning even as they both use different methods to keep people at a distance. Both main characters have issues they have to over come and watching their personal growth really brings you to love and care for them both individually and as a couple. This book has angst humor and heat. The build up of chemistry between the mc makes when they finally get together so so good! I loved seeing everyone come together and protect josh this was a truly heartfelt and satisfying read

Trusting The Fall is the 4th book in the Larchdown Valley Series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the rest of the series. This is the story of Alex and Josh. This story just pulled me in from the start. I loved watching how everyone came together to protect Josh. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

It was good to go back to Larchdown Valley, I like the atmosphere of that place, the people, the surroundings. And about that, it was very good to see that the major parts of this story are set at the Walker's farm and at the Gardens, two wonderful places.

I liked very much both Josh and Alex: they come from completely different backgrounds, but they find a way to bond over coffe and jokes and they feel very comfortable around each other.
The story develops around Josh's mysterious past and I liked that no one pressured him: they just offered a safe space and waited for him to be ready. I also liked how very slowly the relationship between Alex and Josh progressed.

What prevented me from giving a higher rate
I would have liked to know more about Josh's disability and to see more about how it impacted his everyday life and also the physical side of his relationship with Alex.

It was great to see the characters of the previous books in this story too, especially Johan and Cole, my favourites. I particularly appreciated Johan and Josh's friendship.

We'll see if next book will be about West, I hope so!

I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

Alex is a sweet, lonely barista. He's grown up in his small town the same - alone but for his family. He accepts this about himself and just dreams of owing his own coffee shop. Josh is a forward, flirty, fun distraction for Alex - but he has no plans of putting down roots.

I liked both Alex and Josh - they become friends first, then finally allow it to become more. Alex is inexperienced and unsure, while Josh is is opposite yet still doesn't believe he's good enough for Alex. It's fun to watch them work together and for Alex to completely accept Josh's difficulties because of his dyspraxia. I love that the most about the story - the easy acceptance of Josh by Alex.

I also especially loved the extra plot with Josh's dad. Nothing like a little family suspense and drama to make a couple fight to be together!

If you like a little excitement to your plot in addition to the romance - this is a good read! 3.5/5 stars

John/Josh is on the run, never stopping anywhere very long, living on what he can steal as he avoids roads and people. When he falls into a sticker bush and can’t get out on his own, he is helped by Johan, husband of the son of the farmers. Taken home to tend his wounds, the members of the family welcome him in and offer a place to stay while he heals. Through this family, he meets Alex, barista and baker of a small shop nearby, and he ends up helping Alex in his shop, both attracted to and drawn to each other.

John/Josh is very guarded about his identity and hates lying, but it is safer for all concerned. Wary, he still retains a sense of humor in the face of his disability and fear of being discovered. He has dyspraxia, a neurological disorder which presents as clumsiness, affecting his balance and coordination, often embarrassing him, but not shutting down his sassy and snarky attitude, his sometimes shocking statements, and his underlying vulnerability. The conversation about bananas with Alex in chapter 9 had me laughing out loud as I read, it was perfect John/Josh all the way, and and an excellent depiction of his sense of humor, shocking Alex, (but he held his own). He is just looking for a place to feel calm and safe.

Alex is pretty much a loner with acquaintances but no real friends to speak of, with a poor self image, and the banter with John and his comments on how pretty he is really help boost his confidence and daring to try things which he never thought he could. Alex reads John well, often knowing what he needs, making John feel comfortable , in a calm and safe place. Inexperienced in all things sexual, Alex has hopes to try things with John he has only dreamed about, if only he can get past John’s barriers.

The two work well together in the coffee shop and baking savory goods for the shop, falling into an easy relationship, but trying to ignore the sexual tension below the surface, John because he knows he should be on the run, Alex because he isn’t confident enough to instigate anything. But eventually John’s past catches up with him, those he has come to care for are threatened, and choices must be made. It does end in a HEA (it is a romance after all) with satisfaction for all involved.

This was an engaging, humorous, mysterious at times read, with two MCs that were perfect for each other, exactly what the other needed, on their way to forever. I have read the three previous books in the series and enjoyed them as well. This is an author I now watch for, and I look forward to the next, and final, book in the series.

I received a copy of the book from the author and this is my voluntary review.

The story is set in a great locale, a small English village, where everyone knows and likes each other, and neighbors and business owners help each other when needed. It is a gay friendly town with lots of gay married couples. Alex is a sweet guy that owns the coffee shop. Alex is inexperienced in love and is still dealing with the aftereffects of being bullied as a kid for having bad acne and having a weight problem. While his acne and weight are now under control, he still doesn’t feel like anyone looks at him as dating material. That is until he meets John, a seemingly homeless vagrant without a penny to his name who shows up in the village one Spring day. John is actually Josh, a young man on the run from his father, a corrupt public official. Josh suffers from dyspraxia, a disorder that affects physical co-ordination, which means he is clumsy and falls down a lot. The only way he can stay safe is to keep moving. The attraction between Alex and Josh is intense and steamy. Josh is taken in by a family in the village, and this time, the village doesn’t want him to go. They want to help him.

This book was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, and I couldn’t put it down. It had an excellent plot, a great cast of supporting characters, and MCs that are multi-layered. Beyond the romantic aspects of this story, I enjoyed the family and friendships shared between all of the characters. It is a fast-paced page-turner with witty banter, entertaining drama, and enthusiastic sexy scenes. It is a sweet love story, and I highly recommend it.

Josh falls into a hedge and is saved by Johan, who owns the property with his husband. They take him in so he can heal, then a fall down some stairs leads him to a sprained ankle. He keeps trying to leave, on the run from his evil father, but Annie, the matriarch, sees he could use some support.

Alex has opened a coffee shop that’s part of a garden open to the public. He needs help because business is great, but he can’t hire anyone yet. Annie brings Josh in, and he agrees to help out after explaining to Alex that he has dyspraxia, which could cause lots of messes and injury.

Alex is very inexperienced, so Josh teaches him more about himself, and the attraction on both sides leads to some fooling around. When Josh sees someone who knows him, he runs away, but Alex finds him, and the whole village is willing to protect Josh from his Dad.

A final showdown leads to Josh’s father and his minions being captured, leaving Josh free to live his dream, being with Alex and opening a coffee shop together.

This was a great read, with an interesting premise of Josh’s diagnosis, and the community that takes him in, including Alex, a sweet, innocent, loving man.

I received this ARC for free, and am glad to provide my honest review with thanks.

Josh didn’t expect to find himself in a small town where everyone embraced him even though he knew he was telling lies. They suspected it, but they let him figure it out. He wanted to tell them—he just couldn’t.

Alex was finally starting to live, still inexperienced in love he at least had the coffee shop he always wanted and a lot of people that wanted him to succeed. He didn’t expect the mysterious stranger that had been staying with his friend to help him. It didn’t take long before there was a spark; if they looked closely that spark happened the first time they saw each other.

OPINION: Alex and Josh are a unique pair of MCs; even with all the secrets between them, there is still something they can’t resist. It’s a slow-burn love story. Finding out more about Josh’s story and navigating that situation made for a little bit of drama, but it was generally low-angst. I rooted for them from the beginning, pleading with Josh to tell the truth and let Alex in. When they found their way finally, it was a relief even though an unknown was hanging over their head, at least they had each other. It's a very nice story with a couple of interesting guys, it's a reasonably quick read.

The fourth book in the Larchdown Valley Series, Trusting The Fall is Josh and Alex's story. Josh comes to the Valley on the run from his dad. He has no plans to stay but falls under the nurturing spell of Annie Walker. His constant innuendos and general snarky demeanor made him quite unlikeable at first.
Alex is a hometown boy. His dream is to open his own cafe/bakery, managing the cafe at the garden center is just a start. He's an absolute sweetie. Both main characters suffer from self loathing, Alex from high school bullying and Josh from his disability. They help each other heal, giving Josh a home and Alex a man to love. Their chemistry is sweet rather than smoking and the author has them get to know one another rather than straight to bed.
A good read. There's excellent worldbuilding and the characters from the previous books are supportive secondary characters. The story can be standalone, but is more enjoyable reading the rest of the series first.
It was a quick read. There's a bit of angst. Humor. And I grew to love Josh as much as Alex did.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

First of all, I love the title of the book and it's link to Josh's dyspraxia. I love the inclusion of the disability in the book. I definitely think it's important to have books showcasing the struggles of certain disabilities. I enjoyed the pacing of the book and the adorably sweet village of Larchdown. I can't truly imagine how Josh feels going from toxic home environment to a place where people love him and care about him so much. I love the strong knit community. This is the first book I read in the series... So I'll definitely have to go back and read the others.

I also love Alex so much. He's such a sweet boy. And God am I happy he ended up being the "top". I'm a lover of the unexperienced top... And I really hoped sassy Josh would be the bottom. So yay. I'm excited to read the fifth book once it's sent out to the ARC readers. But I recommend this book. It's sad but also very feel good. I'm glad Alex never gave up on Josh. Overall an amazing story and I always love a happy ending.

Once again, I'm in Larchdown Valley & once again, I'm here for it! One of my favorite things an author can do is build an entire world & keep it going into other books & Jem Wendel nailed it! (Go read Brewing Up Love, which doesn't link on Goodreads to the rest of the Larchdown series!)

Alex & Josh both have their struggles, which I also appreciate. Alex struggled with self esteem issues while Josh had physical limitations. Sometimes characters can be too perfect & it's refreshing to find characters with relatable traits that are real world struggles.

Josh is trying to outrun his past, knowing it could affect Alex & the rest of the villagers that have shown him love & kindness. Alex is kickstarting his dream. And of course, they each want to help the other. It's easy to root for them to succeed in their personal goals as well as for them to figure out that they belong together!

I received a free ARC from the author and this is my honest review.

Weeping willow, banana pen, pasties = nipple coverings or savory pastry?

"Trust the Fall", Book 4 is a great addition to the Larchdown Valley series. The characters from the previous books play prominent roles, so reading those beforehand will enhance your enjoyment of Book 4.

Featuring Josh, a dyspraxic on the run who falls into Johan's and Cole's property located in Larchdown. It's where he enters Alex's orbit, a naìve virgin barista. Josh assumes the guise of John, a mysterious homeless itinerant. The mystery is who John really is and why he's on the run, not wanting to be found.

We've met much of the characters before, and they are all wonderful and likeable in this story. The scenery and imagery are graphically described, so it's easy to picture in your mind. The storyline is intriguing and captivating, keeping you caught up in it. The ending is dramatic, but spectacular. It's easily 5 stars and enthusiastically recommended.

This is my first Larchdown Valley book but it's easy to follow without too much insight missing. Saying that, it's also make you want to read the rest of the series.

It's a difficult story line, Josh is on the run, it's not clear why until later in the book, but he sure has his trust issues. He is sceptic, suspisious of everything but can't help wanting to stay.

Alex is trying the hardest to make his dream come true. Josh is not only helping in his new cafe, but also with his self-confidence and some life skills.

These two are very cute together, they are on the younger side but life taught them enough to not be naive or irresponsible.

I love how the village comes together to protect Josh when his past caught up with him and while I think the villian story line is a bit over the top, it really shows how Josh and Alex grew close and how much Josh changed with the acceptance from Alex and the rest of the villager.

A great book to snuggle up with.

Larchdown Valley is a small quaint village with some devoted residents and a serious side of drama!

Josh stumbles into town and gets swept up by its people. Knowing he shouldn’t stay is one thing, actually leaving is another. Especially once he finds himself helping Alex at his coffee shop.

They develop a really great friendship over coffee and pasties. Where both of them find a fresh lease on life and a chance to truly dream. They are pretty sweet in the quiet moments.

There is some external drama that keeps things interesting and highlights the closeness and strength of this village. Once the village has adopted you, they will do just about anything to help.

The coffee gods must be looking out for Josh and Alex! Josh/John, is a survivor. He suffers from dyspraxia a bit of a balance disorder which complicates his life a bit. He is offered shelter by the Walker family, but plans on leaving as soon as he can procure clothes and supplies to continue his escape. He meets Alex, a barista who needs help in his coffee shop that recently opened. Annie Walker maneuvers Josh into helping Alex. We are teased by the reason for Josh's evasiveness and fear while watching him and Alex get to know each other. We get to see characters from earlier stories. Josh, is a sassy and incorrigible which is a large part of his charm and Alex is a young man carrying a heavy burden of low self esteem based on the ugly words used while growing up. We have two broken men drawn to each other and get to watch them heal. Nicely done. Nice story flow, excellent support group, great cover art! Well done! I’ve read one other book from the Larchdown series, that also had a wonderful couple at the center. The setting is excellent, it feels very authentic and I loved how the residents banded together to help Josh. This also had a good mystery and a bit of suspense as Josh very much feels like a flight risk for Alex. Alex, I think was my favorite part of this book. He is a lovely human being and I especially loved his mix of bravery and insecurity. The moments where he wills himself out of his comfort zone were a definite highlight for me. I loved the author’s writing - it is very engaging and character driven which I appreciate. This was an excellent read, Annie is amazing, I love the small town vibes, and the characters are lovable and layered. Loving this series!

Such a brilliant addition to this great series. Absolutely loved following Alex and "John". Friendly Johan takes John in when he finds him homeless. However John finds it hard to bond with the family due to his lies and knowing he is putting them in danger so feels as if he shouldn't be there. Annie asks John to help her do a delivery to Alex’s Coffee shop and though reluctant feels he can't say no. On arrival he meets Alex and they are soon chatting and flirting away! When the danger finds "John" and we are drawn into the suspenseful events that follow! Such a well paced storyline both with the plot and relationship development. Perfect!

rusting The Fall, the fourth book in the Larchdown Valley series, is a captivating and emotional romance between Alex and Josh. While it can be read as a standalone, the strong sense of community and loyalty throughout the series enhances the experience.

The story pulls you in from the start, as Josh faces personal struggles and Alex steps in to support him. Their connection is built on trust, patience, and vulnerability, making the romance feel natural and heartfelt. The supporting characters add depth, rallying around Josh with friendship and protection.

Overall, it's a heartwarming and engaging read that beautifully explores themes of love, trust, and found family. Highly recommended for fans of emotional and well-crafted romances.

I just love this series. Every new book reunites me with characters I know and love, and introduces me to new ones. I like that this book has a bit of suspense and drama, but it was nicely balanced with plenty of humor and cheekiness. I do love snark.

It was refreshing that neither Josh nor Alex are what the world often perceives as perfect. These characters are real and have real challenges and prejudices to deal with. Actually, many of the characters in this series just feel real, and I appreciate that the author has scripted relatable characters.

I had forgotten how serene and beautiful this little village and its surrounding areas are. I actually feel the scenery. I just love this little village and its inhabitants.

Giggles ok may I just say that I will never look at a donut the same again!

This story has a wonderful mix of humor and heart. I loved the teasing banter between Josh and Alex. They are a wonderful match bringing encouragement, love, strength and support. I was easily swept up in their romance.

I am so excited that we got to revisit the community of Larchdown Valley because I am in love with everything about this world and the cast of charcters. I absolutely love this small town where everyone will help and welcome a stranger into their family. My problem is that I never want to leave. I can see myself thriving there.

Such a great story. The entire Larchdown series is amazing, i absolutely love all the character’s and the community and the MMC’s in Trusting the Fall were no different. Alex is so easy going and just pure sunshine, he is accepting and understanding and the perfect partner for Josh. I love watching Josh learn to trust people and find a family he is deserving of. I will admit as an American, i thought “pasties” was a typo for “pastries” until it popped up again and I had to google it bc as is stated pasties are an entirely different thing here.

I can’t wait to read more by Jem, her writing style is lovely and enjoyable, it makes reading her stories enjoyable.

Alex and Josh were truly meant for one another. Both grapple with their personal challenges and fear of getting hurt, yet they slowly yield to the emotions they have been resisting. I enjoyed the playful banter between them, filled with moments that made me laugh out loud. The small-town atmosphere and the sense of found family that the community fosters are wonderful. It is full of first times and sweet moments and even has a bit of action and suspense!
This is the fourth book in the Larchdown Valley Series, and while it can certainly be enjoyed on its own, I absolutely recommend reading the entire series – each book is fantastic!

I love this series. But this book was so different. I loved the mystery and suspense jem threw in this book. It was a very good read with the perfect blend of mystery and romance. I would not call this book a true mystery but a blend of romance action and suspense.
Josh and Alex were destined to be a couple. Their affection grew thru the book to the point of the romance growing full bloom.
I enjoyed the old characters for making an appearance from the previous read. It just flowed nicely.
I hope you take the chance to give this series a read I think you will enjoy it. Jem is a fantastic author and I can't wait to see what she has going in the future.
