It’s been three years since Alexandra Goddard was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and saved by an experimental cybernetic implant. Determined to repay CyberLife Industries for saving her life, Alexandra accepts a mission to infiltrate a competitor’s base deep in the Mojave Desert. After months of training, she’s ready to prove herself. But when the plan falls apart, she must decide between protecting CyberLife … or doing what’s right.
ALPHA 8 is seven chapters long, or approximately 35 pages. Please note that it is a short story, not a full-length novel. It takes place one year before the events in Cyber Dawn.
M.L. Adams was born in the Midwest and raised in Colorado. His parents, both avid readers, instilled a love for books at an early age. His 3rd and 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Watson, encouraged a passion for writing. Cyber Dawn, his debut novel, includes many of his experiences as a childhood cancer survivor and amputee. He still lives in Colorado with his wife and two children.
This short story is a good introduction to the world of M.L. Adams. However, I bought it after reading Cyberdawn, hoping for more, and finding out there was little to learn here.
Much of the story is extremely similar to Cyberdawn, the timeline being contained within the full novel's time.
If you have a choice, read this before Cyberdawn.
I eagerly await the next full-length novel about either of the protagonists we have met so far.
Very exciting book! After finishing it, I had to look for another and found Alpha 8: A Cyber Dawn Short Story that I am about to read now. I truly recommend this book if you like cyborgs etc.
