This book is the new version combining the old Volumes 1 & 2

He just wanted to find out why the man he loved was killed. What he found was a world of absolute evil.

When Antony met Collier, his life became perfect...until "Collie" was wrongfully arrested and brutally murdered in the city's jail, sending Antony's world into chaos. Then a chance comment led him to believe Collie's death was not a "tragic incident that no one have been prevented," but was actually part of a vicious conspiracy. Antony set out to learn the truth, putting himself on a collision course with a shadowy group of people who would stop at nothing to protect themselves...even if it meant killing not only him but anyone else they felt was a threat -- including Jake, another man touched by the conspiracy...who was willing to back Antony up, and who offered him a chance at a new life.

I am a writer and self-involved artist who’s lived in London and Honolulu, and a dozen places in-between. I’ve also traveled around the world, and some of my artwork has been purchased by collectors.

I used to write screenplays and have won numerous awards for them...despite none being produced. That’s how "A Place of Safety" began life—as an idea for one, twenty-five years ago. But it deepened and expanded and changed direction and became the life of an Irish Catholic boy during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. I’m currently working on a gothic horror novel dealing with an ancient tale of harpies that live in the caves of the Cliffs of Moher, on Ireland’s far west coast.

In my writing, I’ve tried to build characters as vivid and real as possible and have a lot of fun doing it...mixed with angst, anger, amazement…and sometimes vicious arguments with the characters in each book. I like to think I’ve done well by them.

My books are available through Amazon, B&N, BAM!, Powell’s Books, and your local independent book shop.

This one really surprised me. I was prepared for either super-vulgar, boring and samey gay porn involving rape fantasies, or for soppy faux-Stockholm.

Well, I got "vulgar", though 2-3 pages in it let up considerably, and I was left with the most unreliant narrator of them all. Intelligently written, with an eye for the erotic, and a pair of eyes on psychology, with a very male approach to sex despite great romanticisms and what turned out to be an intriguing little thriller at the background.

In short, I enjoyed myself immensely. This reminded me in places of The Humiliator, with less grimness, and of The Fog, with less soppiness and a thoroughly compelling voice. I can see why this was banned from Amazon, though. I will be looking at other books from this author.

This has been one of the most intense books i have ever read, a freaky glimpse into someones descent into rational psychosis, trying to find out whats happening whilst manipulating those around them, all written in the first person which just ups the intensity, not for the faint hearted, with a great twisty turny plot

Quite dark. This was a hard read, but worth it. It’s hard to know how to feel about Antony. In some ways, he’s an avenging angel. In others, he’s a monster. There were innocent victims, yes. It’s also true that he wasn’t the worst offender. The extenuating circumstances don’t justify his actions, though. He comes off at times as a bratty hick, but he’s very smart. He just tends to be rather short-sighted!

This book was a maze of twists and turns. The mystery kept on getting bigger and bigger. When it all finally comes to a head, the sweeping conspiracy is wider than expected.

All in all, it was a good, intriguing story.

Jeez, what a ride..

This book was full of twists and turns, it gave me a freakin’ whiplash. I just can’t describe what a fuckin mindfuck this was. Antony was batshit crazy at times, even when he started raping and/or coerced someone into it. But you still could redeem him for it, because the other one, kind of deserved it. And the love he held for Collier and Jake, was definitely the reason for it.
Damn, this book was seriously twisted. This made me think this shit could be happening for real in this crazy fucked up world we’re living in.

The writing itself was excellent (even though the editing was a big ol’ mess) and most original plot IMO.

This a seriously dark read with no "hero" characters. You totally understand how Antony ends up the way he does and there are characters you may feel get what they deserve. That is an awful feeling when you step out of the story and realize how the author has sucked you into the darkness, but that ability is what makes this author so amazing. Never was it more true that when you look into the darkness, it looks back into you than when reading this story. Quite a ride and I'll be willing to take more like it from this author.

Wow! Just WOW!

I’ve been on the edge of my seat from start to finish, holding my ereader in a death grip. Not believing what I was reading as everything unfolded, rattled by what occured in the storyline and, at the same time, unable to put the book down... So good!

This was a dark, twisted, emotional story. Shockingly graphic and morally questionable. I hated, commiserated, raged and loved.

Strong read. Recommended.

This story is dark, twisted and so convoluted. we meet Antony who falls for Collie, a professor at his college. when Collie is arrested on trumped up charges and raped and killed in a holding cell, Antony wants answers. that leads him yo Jake, a man that has been raped in that same holding cell. as Antony tries to figure out the who, what and why, with the help of Jake, he finds himself in some hot water but he has a beast that seems to help him. Jake and Antony are wonderful together and through the entire story, i just warned them to get their HEA. which i really wondered if it would happen. especially since this author doesn't always have HEA's. i was totally sucked into this story.
