This was a quick and easy read. Interested in learning more about the Johnson family! 3.5 Stars

Unforgettable is the first book in the Johnson family series and focuses on Ivy and Lucas as the hero and heroine. The two were previously involved with each other and ended up going in separate directions. Ivy appears to want more from the relationship than Lucas who ultimately becomes a "relationship" expert. He decides to accept a teaching assignment and relinquishes his relationship with Ivy. Overall, I thought that this was an interesting book. It's a second chance romance with a slight surprise element that I was necessarily expecting. There was clearly old chemistry between Ivy and Lucas. Their personalities are vastly different and through the text it's clear that Ivy humbles Lucas. He's arrogant in a lot of his thought processes and this is crystal clear in the beginning of the book when readers meet him for the first time at a speaking engagement. This is also a billionaire/heiress romance with Ivy coming from an extremely wealthy family. I wasn't sure how that was going to fit into the narrative of the book, but Diamond makes it work towards the end. Part of this is a classic "princess and the pauper" trope, but it works very well with the characterization. It was a solid read and I'm interested in picking up the next book in the series.

Loved it! Lucas can't believe his eyes-Ivy, the woman he walked away from 9 years ago, is standing right in front of him. He is stunned and filled with love, desire and lots of guilt for the way he ended things.

Well Ivy is feeling guilty as well. When Lucas discovers the reason why, will they be able to find their way back to each other? ***I loved the poem, "I Can't Sleep" that Lucas created for Ivy. It is delicious!

Ivy Johnson, Billionaire Black heiress to a beer dynasty. Lucas Baylor relationship author expert. These two are about to collide after a 9 year absence from each others lives and a secret that is about to come to light.

Ivy Johnson and Lucas Baylor met in a restaurant where he was working. He was an aspiring writer and school teacher and sometimes spoken word poet. Ivy Johnson was hanging out with her girlfriends at a restaurant and they both started a little flirtatious banter. As Ivy was leaving the restaurant, Lucas came out and gave her his number, afterwards a summer romance quickly blossomed with the two being inseparable. Lucas had no idea who Ivy really was until she revealed it to him. But he was focused on his teaching assignment in South Korea which he got accepted for, although he was hot and heavy with Ivy he had plans and none of it included a relationship or marriage.

Ivy Johnson was in love, she didn't care that Lucas didn't have the money she had, or that Lucas grew up in foster care until a kindly and wonderful woman named Mama Katherine saw through all of his anger and took him as her own. Under Mama Katherine, Lucas grew into the intelligent man that she always knew was there. Ivy wanted to be with him and only him but with his insistence of not wanting to be in a relationship, when the time came for Lucas to leave the country he left and took Ivy's heart with him. Devastated Ivy went on with living her life without him but unforeseen circumstances came about and this is where we learn just how tight and powerful the Johnson family name is. A secret is never really a secret, the truth will always come out. Maybe not right away, or even 30 years later but the truth still will come out.

Nine years later Ivy and Lucas come face to face to discover how decisions that were made come with circumstances. Can these two former lovers get past the pain of rejection, betrayal and misunderstandings to see if there is a second chance for them or will it be too late.

The story was wonderfully written and reading about Ivy and Lucas, you couldn't help but root for them. Sometimes setbacks are setups for the greatest love to be found. I even enjoyed the fact of the sex coming almost towards the end of the book, the pace and tone was well set because they both had quite a bit to work out so it was perfect that they didn't fall in bed with each other right away.

This is Book 1 in the "Johnson Family" series and I am getting ready to start Book 2 "Perfect" which is Cyrus story (he irritated me in book 1 hopefully he can redeem himself with me LOL!!).

Well Until My Next Review Ciao Bellas!

I picked up the first two books in The Johnson Family series in a used bookstore knowing that book one probably wouldn't be a favorite since I knew what secret Ivy had most likely kept from Lucas. The trope that is the basis of Unforgettable's story is one that I usually just don't like. However, Diamond's writing is enjoyable and the story is well written. Delaney actually kept me reading the story when in many cases I would have just skimmed through just so that I would be familiar with the world and basic characters when I moved on to the next book in the series. I'm counting these as lucky finds and will hopefully read book two before the end of summer.

This story was just ok. There was really no originality here. Man and Woman have a hot romance, woman ends up pregnant and doesn't tell man. 8yrs later man runs into woman and later discovers he has a child. He is pissed but gets over it and figures out he loves woman and now wants to be a family. I just expected more from this author than the same recycled storyline, she can do better.

A PREDICTABLE read...Lucas and Ivy still have quite a bit of CHEMISTRY after 8 year of separation...Katie their daughter is ADORABLE...and I enjoyed the camaraderie and tension between the Johnson family members...not my favorite from Ms. Diamond...but still a decent read...onto the next book in this series.

What a wonderful story where the man isn't the billionaire for a change. Ivy Johnson has money to burn but is not one of those spoiled heiresses that is out to have a good time and leave broken people in her wake. She is very much in tune to who she is and who she wants to be. She can also see the good in other people, even the ones that were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

Ivy see the great in Lucas Baylor, even when he cannot see the good in himself. Because he grew up in the foster system, it does help shape his ability to form lasting relationships. To see the way Ivy and Lucas interact was such a refreshing change from some of the stories that are out now. I will definitely be reading about the other siblings in this family. I have read other books by Delaney and really forgot how wonderful her writings are.

Is this going to be another great series by Delaney Diamond?? From the looks of it, it will be. Book one in the Johnson Family series introduces us to the Johnson family. We met Lucas in the first book of the Hawthorn series and he teams up with Ivy Johnson in, Unforgettable. Some people think the whole,"woman has baby. Doesn't tell the man. Years later he finds out." story is overly done. I think when the story is well written it can still make for a great book and Delaney Diamond never fails to deliver a great story. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series but I am really excited to see what happens with Trenton and his best friend.

Karma is such a strong thing....good or bad. This is almost a life lesson for many you can't keep some things hidden. What's that grandma says everything done in the dark comes to light. This was a good and sometimes intense read but I truly enjoyed. And it's part of series we all know I love a series.

Ivy and Lucas were perfect for one another. Even though Lucas didn't want a kid or family but in the end he got just what he wanted. The Johnson and Wellington family liked their privacy and scandals are unwelcome. I like the way the brothers stepped in when Ivy needed them. A very good read. Looking forward to reading about the brothers.

Unforgettable

This was my first read by this author and the Johnson family has peaked my interests. I love that Ivy was rich and didn’t need a man even to help with Katie. It is ironic how Lucas gave so much relationship advice but didn’t want to commit. Good read!

Ivy Johnson and Lucas Baylor meet nine years after their 'unforgettable' affair and one of them has a secret. When Ivy's secret is exposed, Lucas doesn't know how to handle the issues facing him. One thing is certain, he's not prepared to let Ivy go a second time.

PLAYERS: Lucas is a strong, dominant male, who wants what he wants when he wants it and what he wants is Ivy. He's determined to reconnect with her, despite being uncertain about what he needs from their relationship.

Ivy has seen a world of trouble and doesn’t want her world thrown into upheaval if, and when, Lucas decides to walk away as he did in the past.

OVERALL COMMENTS: I like Delaney Diamond's writing and this book, I enjoyed tremendously. At first Lucas struck me as brash and uncaring—and spouting nonsense, as I put it—until the writer scratched the surface. I found 'his●story' touching and the details or lack of details in his past brought tears to my eyes. His vulnerability in this area had me sold on him and cheering him on in his pursuit of Ivy.

His connection with Ivy is intense and the chemistry between them, off the charts.

I would have read the book in one sitting if I had the time, but finished in a few sessions. Ms. Diamond has done very well at mastering these mid-length love stories. Perfect (the next book in the Johnson Family series) was released today and I'll definitely be buying into Cyrus' story.

COVER NOTE: I'm not usually fond of covers where I don’t get a visual of the model's face, but the cover of Unforgettable was enough for me to create a picture of Lucas in my mind.

This the begining of a series on the Johnson family. Ivy is the only daughter of an AA family that can trace their roots back to pre-slavery. They have capitalized on their heritage and made a name that ranks with the elite. They have a dynasty similar to their name sakes in publishing, however their fortune is made in the beer industry.
Ivy had a fling when she was in her 20's with Lucas, who had very humble beginnings. He now is a well known author, because writing is his passion. He has a book tour that lands him in Seattle. He hears a woman laughs and it brings back some vivid memories. He chases who he thinks was that laughed only to see her taxi speed off into the night. As he reenters the hotel, he sees a billboard with her family's Beer and organization listed. He makes an effort to enter the event and finds that his ears were correct..Ivy is in that hotel. He's drawn to her, she is shocked but runs from him. Determined to have an actual conversation, he shows up at her office and gets the surprise of his life.

This story draws you in and pulls your heart strings on many levels. Will the heiress to a mutli-million forutne find love? What was the surprise that Lucas finds that changes his life forever? Will the player of all players finds he was wrong about something nearly 10 years later? How will the reunion of Ivy and Lucas effect Ivy's coverup?

Great read and I'm on to "Perfect" to find out more about Ivy's oldest brother who wasn't too popular in Unforgettable...

Thank you Ms, Diamond for another great read...the romantic in me is well pleased...

Ivy and Katie Are Lucas' Hidden Family! 3.25*****

Ivy Johnson, is no stranger to scandal, but with Katie, her daughter being affected, in the most recent tabloid exposé, the Johnson family and Lucas surround and protect them from the paparazzi. On a chance meeting at the end of Lucas' book tour in Seattle, he met up with Ivy Johnson, his Summer fling eight years, before he left for South Korea to teach. Unbeknownst to him, he is also Katie's father. His single, carefree bachelor's life has come to a screeching halt. Ivy gives him an out, but he realizes that something is lacking in his life. Together they work to become a family. Like father, like daughter, the two, Lucas and Katie, possess the creative writing gene.
Great characters, but at times, Lucas' foster home upbringing hinders him as he slowly learns to rise above his insecurities. Great plot that climaxes in the revaluation of the betrayer of Ivy's sham marriage to Winston to the press. It seems that the leading men in this series, tend to get physical with the women they love. Walking away and cooling down is a much better alternative than becoming physical... not a admirable trait in either Cyrus or Lucas.

Such a great read! I want a Lucas! You can tell by the writing how strong Lucas is and how good he smells. I was wondering why Ivy was acting so cold towards Lucas especially due to the way he sort her out and was so happy, no thrilled, no shocked..ok ok all of those to see her and then she put on airs as if she could care less that she saw him. But all along it was a charade to keep him at bay because she had a secret that he didn't know about! Oh correction, she had two secrets, and the other one no one knew of that one; and that was a shocker. Ms. Delaney Diamond dugged deep to pull that out, I was surprised when Ivy blurted it out to Lucas! And Ivy and Lucas kept trying to deny their feelings, but the heart want what the heart wants no matter how long apart. I enjoyed how protective of Ivy her brother's are; and I can't wait to read more about them: Cyrus, Gavin, Trenton, and especially Xavier. I like how Ms. Diamond writes to make their characters so interesting that the readers want to continue reading about their story. Great job there Ms. Diamond, you have a new fan.

Ivy Johnson is stunned when Lucas Baylor makes an appearance at her family’s event in Seattle. Her past is coming back full force and there is nothing more she wants than to take a step or two back. Lucas wants answers, but finds much more than he every imagined he would.

This is a reworked second chance at the first love for one and the other was just to macho to realize it was love for him. There is a tie in place that is more than either could have thought.

This was an interesting trip into a mega-wealthy African American family of power, prestige, and fame. And how life plays out for the daughter of this prestigious family.

A pleasant romance- BRAB Online Book Club

Let me preface this by saying that I am a fan of this author and have read every book she's written. With that said, this book was just an okay read for me. I just could not feel the chemistry between Lucas Baylor and Ivy Johnson. Even the secondary story about Ivy's husband was very predictable to me.

I will continue to read Delaney Diamond's book but this one didn't do it for me.

Second Chance Romance

This is a good start to a new series. I enjoyed Lucas' and Ivy's second chance romance. When Lucas started to embrace the idea of being a father, and developing a relationship with his daughter, Katie, I just knew he would try to search his past for answers.

With both he and Ivy being so wealthy, I was kind of disappointed that he wasn't more determined to look into his background.

Otherwise, this was a pretty enjoyable story.

I could not stand Lucas. He yelled at Ivy the whole book. Or that's how it was read. I could not understand how she could be attracted to someone that growled/yelled at her all the time. I did not think they were a believable couple. I want to know more about Ivy's brothers but I might have to read those myself. Narrator was too breathy. I hated to give this rating. I really, really, really do.

This was a good book. Within the first few pages of the story it had me laughing and already excited for Lucas to get his girl.
Learning about Lucas family background was touching. I liked Ivy. She had some challenges. The romance between Ivy and Lucas was great. I think this is definitely a book worth reading.

I thoroughly enjoyed Lucas and Ivy's story! I can't wait to read the next story in this Fresh New Series. I hate to reveal Spoilers in my reviews which causes them to be short in quantity. But the Quality of this story is top notch and the chemistry flowing off the pages for Lucas and Ivy is phenomenal! Great job as always Delaney!!!

Good Read

Although I enjoyed having book, I really didn't like the way Lucas viewed Ivy's "deception". I really wish Ms Delaney would've had Ivy check the brother on his attitude. That was hard for me to read. However, I still enjoyed the book and look forward to reading all the books in the series.

Unforgettable

Reads like most romance stories only difference these are black and rich. Sad tired story about a black man not knowing his lineage but the author doesn't tie it together and have him search out his roots.
