King and Emilia
For me this was a 3 ½ star rating because in real club life they just don’t let their members walk away which is what King has done. He is up against the club trying to keep boutique shop owner, Emilia, safe. She had stood up to Ghost who was intimidating another shop owner in the area and King came to her rescue. Now Ghost is out for revenge.
I did like the connection between King and Emilia. It was nice seeing that the handsome, protective ex biker fall for the slightly overweight shop owner.

January 21, 2025Emilia is the owner of a boutique. She has just closed her shop when she hears a commotion. She looks out to see several huge bikers picking on her an elderly shopkeeper. She heads out and tells them to back off.
King comes on the bikers roughing up an elderly man. Then he sees a woman go head to head with the bikers. He steps in when it looks like she's in over her head.
Later laying in bed he still feels like he's free falling. He left the Road Warriors and those guys might try to make an example out of that woman who he seems fixated upon.
He goes to see her the next day to find that his former MC has done some bad stuff to her shop. He explains what is and might happen. He wants to make sure she will be safe.
He tells her why he left the MC. He tells her he wants to try to get some of the younger men out. The club has gone really downhill. He asks about a fashion show and she explains why they do it. So he volunteers to help.
Then he hears the propects talking about what their Prez wants them to do to Emilia. Will he be able to keep it from happening? Will he open his heart to see what is in front of him?
A story of adversity, a man who wants to do the right thing and a woman who has the courage to stand for what is right.

When Emilia stands up for a shop owner it puts her in jeopardy. King comes to her rescue, but he knows that the MC President will retaliate at some point leaving him caught in a tense a heart pounding struggle between protecting her or remaining neutral. Feelings begin to form between them making his choices more complicated. Can they overcome the odds stacked against them.

Take a hot, heroic biker and a sassy, strong woman who cross paths trying to right a wrong and you get one fierce couple!!! The start of King and Emilia’s relationship is quite intense but with a lot of steamy moments in between the suspense.

King has decided to leave his MC when he figures out how corrupt they are. He comes upon Emilia when she’s standing up to the leader of the MC and decides she needs his protection. What follows is action while they get to know each other and the romance develops. Great book!.

You're going to go nuts over this bad boy romance book by Cleo for sure when you start to read about Emilia and King. I was instantly a goner with this book, and had it finished in no time at all, however it is a quick read.
