La alegría muda de Mario

Mario tiene casi tres años y apenas habla. Sin embargo, es cariñoso y se comunica a su manera con el entorno pero, algo no cuadra y, un diagnóstico tardío de autismo, despierta sensaciones abandonadas y heridas dormidas. El duelo tiene un principio y un fin y la lucha incansable por traer a Mario a nuestro mundo hace brotar una sonrisa eterna al leer cada línea de esta historia.
El día 19 de enero, San Mario, nació el bisabuelo de Mario (del que ha heredado su nombre). También es San Mario. Casi nada en la vida es por casualidad.
El día 19 de enero todos despertamos a una vida nueva. En la vida pocas veces tenemos la suerte de aprender a ser mejores. Mario nos ha hecho ser mejores. Él os hace un regalo, su voz, para que lo llevéis siempre en el latido de vuestro corazón.

Este libro es una joyita, todo un ejemplo a seguir. A través de este libro he aprendido un montón de cosas sobre el autismo y me ha dado una gran lección de vida.

I'm going to volunteer in an association for kids with autism this summer so I thought it will be a good idea to read a little bit about it. This book pop up during my research. Apart from the fact that all the money it raises goes to ANA (an association for kids with autism and their families), I think it's a wonderfully written book. It's also more incredible given the fact that it was written by a first time writer, a mother of an autistic child, that has had no previous experience in the writing world, but you can jump right into the story, you go in the journey with her and share her worries and thoughts, The great fact about this book it's that you are present in this family's life during the first year after their son (Mario) diagnosis. It gave strong emotions, I teared up a little bit during some parts of it. Hope there is another one so we can keep learning about Mario's journey.
