Blake Pierce is my preferred author for mystery and psychological thrillers. I've expanded my reading to include titles like Riley Paige, Ella Dark, Rachel Gift, and others. However, the Jessie Hunt series remains my favorite. In the 32nd book, Jessie is grappling with the aftermath of multiple attempts on her life and a concussion that hinders her full return to the department. Her husband Ryan has relinquished his captaincy to head the HSS department again. Both Jessie and Ryan, now working together, are in therapy with Dr. Janice Lemon to address their trauma. Meanwhile, Jessie's half-sister Hannah is away at school, facing her own challenges. Jessie and Ryan are embroiled in a case involving a serial choker responsible for three women's deaths. Alongside this, we see Kat and her fiancé's storyline, with ongoing threats against her, Hannah, and Jessie. Three narratives intertwine, masterfully woven together by Blake Pierce.
I would highly recommend this book and this series but maybe one of the other Blake Pierce series may be what you would like to read.
