Long Story Short : Entertaining bite sized monster romance vibes read.

Short Story Long : I've been struggling with how to rate this book. Was it well written literature, absolutely not. Was I entertained, highly. This is an extremely short book, 86ish pages I believe? Fitting an entire plot line from start to finish in under 100 pages is quite a monumental task, so don't expect any major world building, slow burn, tension, or deep intricate plot. Though I don't think that's really what this book was going for anyway. It's a spicy quick read with a short cohesive plot that wraps up nicely at the end. If you're looking for a really quick not too serious palate cleanser or want to try monster romance without investing too much time, then this would fit the bill.

Gleeful Goblin Review: This read was a bit of a mixed bag for me story wise. I will say I appreciate the author putting instalove right in the title which helped me set appropriate expectations generally. But even with that in mind I felt like there was basically no time at all between being introduced to our FMC (and through her perspective to our MMC, her professor) and when a first kiss happens. Gimme like, a chapter of pining undergrad awkwardness before forbidden liplock and it would have felt more understandable because I would know a bit about Hannah. Once I got past the first couple chapters the story was much more of a typical instalove cadence with plenty of fun under the sea.

From Professor to Underwater Prince
Hannah is drawn to Professor Thal Serac - she loves his class, but she finds that she’s really paying attention to him. Thal has feelings for Hannah as well, but he has some significant secrets he’s hiding. I’ll admit that this is the first book I’ve read in this series, and while I think it stands fine on its own, I think I would have vibed on it better if I had read the previous stories. Also, the ethical factors of being student and professor are never mentioned. That said, the monstrous-ness is fantastic and the romance is both sweet and spicy. A solid read.

Honestly, it’s such a quick read with just the right amount of spice, a little plot line and a whole lot of love.

this was a strong third entry in the Monster Fantasy Island series. Camden Cross has a strong writing style and was glad I got to read this. It had that element that I was looking for and was invested in what was happening. It continued the story perfectly and the characters continued to feel like they belonged in this type of book. I enjoyed the monster romance element to it and worked well together with the storyline and characters.

Tentacles oh my!

This is the first book I read in the series, and I do not feel that I have missed out on anything. I have to admit I do not think I'll continue with this series. It had enough of a plot and some spice to keep most readers engaged, but it didn't do anything for me. I felt that there was a lack of depth, and that is why I skimmed it and got bored at times. It was ok, but not bad! If you want an untouched fmc and an obsessive kraken that is just light. This book is for you.

Exciting and unique Kraken love story!

This was a great quick read with exciting plot and hot spice! The explanation of the new world and the underwater realm was beautiful and intriguing and sounds like a perfect place (minus the bad guy, of course) but I loved the ending. I hadn’t read the first two books in the series and I will definitely have to do that! While this book only gives away their happy endings (which we generally know is coming anyway!) it made me immediately add them to my TBR.

I'm not familiar with this author and this is the first book that I have read by them but I did enjoy it. I did enjoy the heat level and the way they were able to take the concept of a kraken and make it really sexy just worked without feeling even a little bit slimy. It was a decent read especially considering it was only it took me about two and a half hours due to my break but it was good.

I enjoyed the book, even though it is short, but Miss Cross packs it full of underwater life and magic. The story keeps moving along and she is able to tie the ends together for a cohesive story. I will admit the cover with Thal on it tempted me to read this book. Great cover artwork he's very handsome. I will continue to read this series and I can't wait.

this was an instalove fated mates. he's a kraken prince and a professor. she's his student. he has known she is his fated mate but he wanted her to get to know him before thrusting it all on her but someone had other plans when they forced his hands. this book was good and short. i love a really cozy romance read. looking forward to more reads from this author.

It's a cute novella that moves at a fast pace. It has plenty of insta-love and action blended together and I had a fun time reading it. Some points were a little glossed over (I didn't even realize we left the world for another at one point) but I could suspend my beliefs easily. The chemistry between the main couple worked for me and it was a nice read.
