“This was always how it was going to end.”

Theo is the fallen golden boy.

Kade is tired of being trouble.

In two weeks, everything will be over. Kade and Theo will be able to touch each other. The threat that’s been looming over them all year will be put to rest and everybody will be safe.

Or they’ll both be dead and the town will get razed to ashes.

Theo’s sire is back in town and causing havoc. Classmates are going missing and Kade’s visions keep pointing them towards disturbing realizations.

Luckily, Kade has a plan. A genius plan that will stop the ritual and finally - finally - let them touch each other.

Or it will ruin everything. One or the other.

Such a good ending to the trilogy. I really loved how everything came together with this story’s conclusion.

I love the characters, the plot, the queer love story and the general vibes of these books. I think it takes a lot to take something like this premise and manage to balance the darker and lighter elements so well.

I had a really good time reading this one, and I think it did a really good job at pulling all of the plot strings from the previous books together in the end. I’d highly recommend reading these book. I think they’re sweet, funny and dark all in a neat little, highly gay-panicky, package

Hace tiempo que no me leía un libro tan rápido, me gustó mucho aunque hubiera preferido que de repente tuviéramos más tiempo para ser felices. 😂

First and foremost! This is the final book in the trilogy! Major spoilers ahead!

“Kade. We’re not killing you. I’d burn the town down myself before I let that happen.” - Theo

The clock has run out! The boys have less than two weeks to figure out how they're going to save the town and each other! Kade wanted to be a part of a grand story more than anything but now that he's involved in one, he wants out. To be able to walk away with Theo by his side and live a normal life. To finally be able to touch his boyfriend without the threat of burns!

Kade has a plan that he believes will work, it has to! Theo's determined not to lose Kade no matter what. Both of them are trying to stay a step ahead of Theo's sire who is enjoying the game of cat and mouse. Only when school mates go missing and one of their classmates is acting awfully suspicious, they need to step up. Can the two find the perfect loophole in time? Are they doomed along with the town? Will the two ever be able to finally hold hands!?

“There’s no point giving your blood to a vampire if you don’t even get a high from it. I get why you put up with burns.” - Felicity

Ugh! The first line of the book, not the one above, made me not ready to read! I love my boys, and I just want them to have their HEA! I loved every minute of this wild ride and breaking of cycles, generational and more! The way Belle writes her vamps that make you want to be immortal but also have some moments of mmm maybe I don't want to be immortal. Can no longer eat any form of potatoes again!

The sheer amount of growth between the guys from book one to this final installment! Roles being reversed and moments of Theo being more of the monster than "Monster Renfield". Watching Theo break his parents hold on him from the ending of book two until the ending of this book! Getting to see the real Theo as he brought some of Kade's childhood fantasies to life. "Peter Panning it" and flying away to Neverland. Shedding that "must be perfect" mentality and being able to see what it was actually doing to him. Theo's POV revealing that it was making him miserable and not being able to truly live life and enjoy it.

"You don’t have to blow yourself up every time someone hands you a match." - Kade's Mom

Kade I just wanted to wrap up in a bear hug and then go to a rage room with. So many scenes broke my heart and his POV with internal monologue I could relate to a lot. That internal self-destruct button unfortunately doesn't just go away. It's a constant battle to not allow yourself to slide back into old habits and ways. Being able to mindfully catch yourself is a huge step! Kade also acknowledged things about himself that he no longer wanted to be.

I also have to do a shout out for one of my favorite characters, other than my Sparky! Sundance! Sundance gets the "Cool Aunt" award of the century! I loved how she helped to change Theo's world without even realizing it. Not to mention I bet she didn't blink twice when Kade brought Theo home to live with them. Not caring if Theo is a vampire or not, he's family now! Felicity was also someone I could relate to, and I enjoyed watching her growth and transformation from book one.

This book is YA but there are some PG13 moments. Our cast is older teens almost legal adults. Read through the CWs. I love how Belle writes her highschoolers that feel like legit highschoolers. There's underage drinking, smoking, and talk/mention of sex. Nothing explicit on page and the mentions are just PG13. Language is present throughout the book along with violence, gore, death, and bloodshed. Feelings of depression, anxiety, hopelessness, and intense moments.

“I just want to hold you. I want to kiss you properly, you deserve a first kiss.” - Theo

The two have had a long journey and it's still going! But! They're finally boyfriends and not in secret! The feelings of longing between these two was so intense! I mean look at the cover art for this book! Just you never really stop and think just how intimate hand holding is until that choice is forcefully taken from you. Both of them want to finally have that option back! They do get a very HEA ending.

The twists at the end were great and I was interested to see what would happen when a certain situation came to an end. Sad how some things turned out for some characters but also respected some last-minute decisions. I hope to see some of these characters if not all of them throughout Belle's other books! I really hope that if some of the cast go to North Carolina they run into another one of Belle's MCs! I cannot wait for more stories from Belle!

Enjoy the conclusion to this trilogy and don't forget to give the author some stars! I need a shirt that says, "U STAY SOFT/ U GET EATEN"! It made a full circle throughout these books and even transformed!

i think i jinxed myself. fuck.

let's get into it, shall we? i wouldn't really say this is a spoiler bc it happens in the beginning chapters, but the "i love you"s were totally unexpected, and the talk of marriage had me thinking "sorry is this Love Island S12???" honestly it was a bit out of left field considering where we left off in the last book, but in the moment i kind of excused it bc they're 16/17 year olds and i guess that's how you are with first loves and all that (not that i would know), but in hindsight i should've seen it for the bad omen it was. excuse the dramatics, but it was a gut feeling i had right at that moment: i wasn't going to be happy with how this ended. and like always, i was right. i would've really liked to be proven wrong just this once since the thing i didn't want to happen happened. i don't want to spoil the book too much, but i do want to reiterate the fact that i'm really mad abt it lmao

let's start with how alike the storyline progression is to Venom Bound. in Soul Burn Kade and Theo are still trying to find a way out of the ritual, but now it's a race against the clock since there's a time skip bw the events of Venom Bound and where Soul Burn picks up, which seemed an odd choice like why the sudden break when things were just heating up? i mean i understand there isn't a sense of urgency when the ritual was still months away, but most of the character growth and relationship development bw Kade and Theo happens during that time skip and maybe i wanted to see some of it okay! anyway, the near repetitive storyline caused the story to stagnate. nothing really new happens other than the introduction of a whole new cast of characters i did not give a fuck about, or at least, wasn't given enough time to give a fuck about. the crux of the problem, aka the reason everything went to shit, is Kade's loophole. i was hoping it stayed a last resort, but due to certain actions, the script gets flipped. i believe this was the decision i hated the most, like Kade Renfield's my absolute favourite character in this entire series so to have this loophole happen, it feels almost like character assassination. it doesn't add anything to the story. instead i would say his character arc suffered as a result bc it amplified a part of him he never liked, a revelation we were made privy to in Venom Bound or maybe even earlier than that. hell the story even tries to sell us the fact that he's still Kade, but i wasn't buying it. it served no purpose other than being convenient. this ofc ties into Theo. bc of the damned loophole, again, the trajectory of Theo's character arc takes a completely different turn than in the direction i was hoping it would go, especially when i thought the whole "killing of the sire reverses the vampirism" thing would come into play. the entire boss battle at the end was goofy as hell and surprisingly wayyy too easy, and for some reason Kade and Theo take a backseat to the whole thing. also, are we not going to address what happened after? it cannot all be sunshine and rainbows with zero consequences. how abt a little consequence as a treat, huh?

in conclusion, i think i was just looking for a story where someone chose being mortal over becoming a vampire. giving up immortality would have been such a power move, even terribly romantic if you really think about it, but instead i got a "everyone's a vampire now! yay!" which is so boring and cliché :(((

P.S. they deserved a better first kiss

3.5/5
This is unfortunately my least favorite of the three, no contest. I did still enjoy the characters and it read very quickly, but I was ultimately disappointed by the way it all played out.

For one, there were minimal character arcs. Everyone in the main cast stayed very stagnant from the previous book. The majority of character progression was the new people added in, and honestly I didn’t particularly care for them. We’d met the characters before, but had no emotional investment into them and there was not enough time with too many people for us to build some.

The plot—we were in the third book with the same problems, still repeating ways to mitigate it before it explodes—was also very stagnant to me. The thing that really ruined it, though, was Kade’s new role. As soon as I saw it as a potential, I knew it would take the book down a complete star for me, and it did. It made the dynamic so unfulfilling, and created new plot holes. On top of that, it changed nothing at all character or plot wise, so it wasn’t even justified to me for the sake of the story.

I didn’t care at all for the twist/big action sequence at the end, especially because there wasn’t even a moment spent on the repercussions of it, not really. Mass events like that are always unsatisfying to me and unfortunately this was no exception. I felt like we lost a little bit of the main characters within it.

In order to preserve both the character dynamics and shorten the plot, I’m wondering if this could have had more than one long plot, had this plot resolved and then something else show up, or maybe could have been a duology. I really enjoyed the concept, and I almost wish I could have seen the outline for the author’s pacing decisions.

Either way, I’d recommend it, but I’m really disappointed to have not liked this last one when I really loved the previous two.

Thank you to the author for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

** Combined Review of All 3 Books **

With a page count of 950, this story could've been considerably shorter and still covered all of the material in a much more concise manner.

The slower pacing in the first two books felt like a lot of pages for not a ton of plot points, while also leaving me pretty annoyed at Theo, the popular-boy-turned-vampire, due to how he treated Kade, making him hide when anyone was near.

Then in the third book, Kade's tendency toward over-the-top, self-destructive behavior flipped the script and turned my annoyance toward him.

The story overall was fine, but out of the 950 pages, only about 50 of those pages had me genuinely excited and dying to know what was going to happen next.

3 stars.

"Soul Burn" is the third and final book in the "Blood Tethered" series, a queer ya paranormal romance.
I won't spoil anything in my review.
This was an absolutely epic finale. The last battle had me biting my fingernails. It was so intense and full of action. Very emotional too, there was a scene that broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes.
The book had me hooked from the beginning until the end. I really cared for Kade and Theo and all the secondary characters. I couldn't put it down, I needed to find out how the storyline with the vampires was going to conclude and I desperately wanted Theo and Kade to get their happily ever after.
The pacing was brilliant, I finished the book in a day and I all I can say about the ending is that I found it very satisfying.
I highly highly recommend this series. It's beautifully written and the characters are deep and lovable. I will definitely reread it, I had a blast reading Kade and Theo's story.

Thank you so much for the ARC copy!

So, the trilogy comes to an end.
What you can look forward to:
❤️‍🔥pining and longing
❤️‍🔥new additions to the vampire lore
❤️‍🔥found family

Personally, I found the finale a bit rushed, and I didn't think they were ready enough for the final battle.
My heart broke when Aaron died and Felicity was the only one to become human again. I felt that the found family was breaking...

But the boys, oh the boys! Their relationship was the gem of this book, and seeing them established and almost domestic was pure joy!
I cried so much when Kade died, but it felt so good too to have him as a vampire!

All in all, this was a very nice trilogy to read, and I personally really, really liked the lore behind the vampires, because it gave the story individuality and kept the attention high.
The writing is nice and therefore this was a pleasure to read.

Can't talk, crying my eyes out.
The whole trilogy is amazing. These two boys will live forever in my heart. I cried, yelled, whimpered, laughed, gasped, kicked my feet--- the whole spectrum of emotion and reactions. I'm floored. Hopeful horror at its best, Belle never ceases to impress with her witty prose and wonderful characters. A 6-star review. 10 out 10. Stunning and gory and lovely. Highly recommend it.

What a ending! I have devoured this seires always wanting more. I Loved getting to know all the characters and watching them grow. I did find parts of this one a little rushed, but overall I felt this was a great conclusion to the story. Honestly I'd read even more stories of Kade and Theo. I personally connected with Kades character the most. Simply loved it! Highly recommend

💙❤️ Aunque esa pelea final me quedó debiendo, no me importa. Jajaja Estoy satisfecha con el final.

The last seventeen years.

The last two hundred, depending on who you asked.”

What a great ending to another trilogy by I. S. Belle!! I was almost expecting the boys to not get their gay happily ever after (terrible, i know), but I was not disappointed!
Also, I love the little vampyre gang at the end. I'd love for the gang to be mentioned in other books like the Zombabe gang (Milly, my queen!)
I can't wait to see what more Belle comes out with in the future! For now, I shall read 'Girls Night' to check it off my I. S. Belle list and, mayhaps, I'll dabble in some Isabelle Taylor monster romance.

Soul Burn is filled with magic, fights, death, and drama. It’s everything you want in a fantasy paranormal ending. I also noticed where Kade is going as someone else from my favorite series is there too. So I’m hoping there is another series in the future. Kade and Theo are an awesome couple and I love them together. Their story in this trilogy has been a great read and made their coming together epic. I really hope to see them again. That's how much I love these characters.

I received a free copy of this book, and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
