My Bookstagram feed has done it again—introducing me to yet another fantastic author and an absolutely amazing book!
This novel follows Estelle Silverheart, a young woman who discovers that her silver bracelet is actually a powerful relic. This revelation sets her on a dangerous quest to the Starfire realm. Alongside two Sunspark guards- Bramble and Faeryn, she must battle deadly creatures while navigating love, friendship, and heartbreak. Torn between her growing feelings for both guards, Estelle faces external dangers and emotional turmoil. And yes—fae are involved, adding even more magic to the adventure.
From the very first chapter, I was hooked. I’m a huge fan of detailed world-building, and A.J. did an incredible job laying it out in the prologue. The writing was so beautiful and immersive—it caught me by surprise, especially for a debut novel. The author’s attention to detail made the world feel alive, as if I were right there alongside Estelle at every thrilling moment. The magic system, character development, romance, and breathtaking world-building kept me completely captivated from beginning to end.
A.J.'s writing is just that good. The descriptions were so rich and vivid that I could almost see, feel, and experience everything right along with the characters. It’s rare for a book to pull me in this deeply, but this one managed to do so effortlessly. I’m already excited to see what A.J. writes next because their storytelling has me totally invested.
My only critique? I wish it was longer—closer to 500 pages! I flew through the entire book in two sittings and was so upset when I found out it’s only the first in a series. And since it just released, I’ll be waiting eagerly for the next installment!
Obsessed! I loved this read so much! The audiobook adds so much emotion connected with the already great writing! I loved meeting the characters that we meet throughout!
I cannot wait to see where this series goes! I am in love with the narrator for this audiobook! They do an amazing job of portraying the story! The plot will drag you in and keep you hooked start to finish!
I also loved the points made about deep pockets that aren’t necessarily needed! Pockets are a big win in any outfit!
Perfect for anyone who enjoys a good fantasy novel!
Well I don’t know how to feel at the moment.. That was such a good fantasy book, it kept me entertained the whole time and super easy to read ,the emotions in this had me all over the place. My heart may have been ripped out and that all am going to say, the cliffhanger at the end just make me want book 2 right now.
I am absolutely obsessed with this story! I was already a big fan of AJ’s writing, but realizing this was his debut completely blew my mind!!
I was looking for a new fantasy romance I could disappear into, and this one was exactly what I needed! I fell in love with Bramble and especially with Estelle and Faeryn. Those two completely captured my heart.🫠 The worldbuilding was incredible, the plot twists kept surprising me, and the chemistry, tension, and spice between the characters were all perfect! 🔥
I also really enjoyed having a softer FMC for once. And even though the MMCs were a bit stereotypical, they still managed to steal my heart. I’m immediatly gonna go read the second book now! Especially after that ending completely broke my heart 😭
If you are looking for your next romantasy read, I cannot recommend this one enough!! 🫶🏻
Estelle was taken in by her foster mother at a very young age, saved from the king, if anything. Over the years, the two lived a relatively quiet life in the middle of the woods. That is until the foster mother landed extremely ill, when Estelle took on the responsibility of going to local towns to sell some baking goods every month to upkeep with her mother's medications and doctor visits. During one of those months, she met two very handsome guards, Bram (a golden retriever human man) and Faeryn (a grouchy fae with a bad boy persona). It was not until recently that Estelle found out she wasn't who she was made to be, and these three started going onto a life changing journey. Will Estelle get the answers she wants? Who will fall in love? Are they going to make it through the journey?
My opinion: I thought this book was very well written with a great storyline. 🥰 This is my first why choose fantasy romance, and I was definitely not disappointed! I personally found that it was fuzzy because of the romance. Between the banter, the character building, the action, and the sweet romance....it was honestly chefs kiss 🤌.I will be honest, I haven't cried while reading in forever, and this book did it. I look forward to getting into the second book to find out what happens next. So, if you are looking for a first fantasy book, I highly recommend getting into this one. 🥰 But preferably 18+ since there is a bit of 🌶.
Chasing Starfire: The Silver Bracelet is the first book in a fantasy romance series by AJ Knight. Estelle Silverheart has led a relatively quiet life in the forest with her adoptive mother. However, when her mother begins to become ill, she has to begin traveling to the local city to sell wares to pay for medicine. One on of her monthly trips, she runs into two guards that go out of their way to help her. Bram is extremely kind and gentle while his best friend Faeryn, is snarky and rather grouchy. Estelle’s first encounter with them ends up setting all of them on a life-changing journey which they may not come back from.
This story was wonderful and set me on a journey through so many emotions! The dynamic between Estelle, Bram, and Faeryn is so entertaining and I was cracking up at all their interactions! Bram and Faeryn are complete opposites but they work so well together and are absolutely inseparable. The buildup of sexual tension was perfection and the spicy scenes were incredible 🤤 Once you begin reading this book, you will likely have just as hard of a time putting it down as I did! I will say that you definitely need to make sure to have some tissues nearby for this one but I promise that this book is definitely worth the tears!
Estelle, the FMC, lives a quiet life with her mom until she has to venture out in search of the Starfire Realm. The MMCs, Faeryn (Ryn) and Bramble (Bram), are a fantastic pair. They work together so well, and compliment each other's strengths. They team up with Estelle, and it's amazing.
The chemistry is off the charts, and I loved watching their relationship bloom. I was not prepared for the big feels I experienced, and sometimes I wasn't sure if I should be crying or laughing, because I did a lot of both.
The imagery was detailed, and came to life on the pages. The characters were likable (loved Ryn), and you found yourself cheering them on. Is it possible to actually create this world in real-life and join them?
A fast paced, multiple POV tale that has you invested from the get go. Estelle and her adoptive mother have created a live for themselves, albeit a sheltered one. However with her mother gravely ill Estelle will do all she can to protect her and ensure a healers visit.
This leads to her monthly market visits to sell what she makes and its where she meets Bram and Faeryn. Two guards who shouldn’t really be helping her but their chemistry is undeniable.
When Estelle finds out the reason for her mothers illness and that her one possession from her birth mother, the silver bracelet, is a powerful relic, she along with our two guards begin their journey to the starfire kingdom for more answers.
Without giving any more away, this is a why choose tale that delivers on chemistry, spice and a rollercoaster of emotions. I am so invested in these characters and after that ending I have so many questions still - I need book 2 and cannot wait til it is out!
This author evoked emotions with this one. He gave them passion, fear, and heart! My favorite aspect is the “why choose” trope, but that ending leaves you questioning everything especially when I feel like I know what’s coming. I love that the author gives the characters more “powers” as he goes on even though that isn’t her destiny. So much character discovery. This was given to me as an audible ARC, and it was a good listen. My least favorite part is the narrator, it’s the whisper soft voice and not much character differentiation in the voice for me but sometimes you get what you get with audiobooks. I will be reading this on KU now though and can’t wait for the sequel as well as the authors next title coming out.

“Chasing Starfire: The Silver Bracelet” was my first time reading something by A.J. Knight, and I have to say that I’m really glad I gave his writing style a chance!
I thought the world building in this book was very well-done. Estelle, the heroine, was very likable, and I enjoyed reading the chapters written from her POV.
I was also intrigued by her love interests, the Royal Guards Bramble and Faeryn. Their interactions were highly entertaining, and I loved how complex their relationship became in such a short time.
The whole concept of the three magical relics from each ancient kingdom was also incredibly intriguing, and it made me curious about them. I will definitely be continuing with this series!
The world-building? PERFECT. I was completely sucked into epic fantasy world and didn’t want to leave. And just when I thought I had things figured out, you get hit with another twist. Seriously, I was guessing (and gasping) the whole way through.
And let’s talk about the romance! This is a why choose story that was delishhh. The tension, the chemistry, the vibes, it was everything I wanted and more. I fell hard for these characters, and the dynamics between them? A1.
But that CLIFFHANGER. Like, excuse me?!? I need to know what happens next NOW. If you’re into high chemistry romance wrapped in epic fantasy goodness, add this one to your TBR 😇
A.J. Knight’s Chasing Starfire: The Silver Bracelet is an exciting blend of fantasy, romance, and emotional depth that pulls you in from the start. The world is magical and immersive, filled with mystery, danger, and just enough intrigue to keep the pages turning. The characters are complex and easy to grow attached to, and the romantic tension adds an extra layer of intensity to the journey. While a few parts of the story feel slightly rushed, the overall pacing and storytelling are still engaging and satisfying. It’s a great pick for readers who love emotional fantasy with romance and high stakes.
What a fantastic start to the series, Chasing Starfire is absolutely gorgeous!!
Filled to the brim with adventure, love and having my heart ripped out in the end, this one has it all.
Chasing Starfire follows our 3 very beloved characters. Faeryn, who's grumpy af! Bram, our gorgeous golden retriever and last but not least Estelle. Our incredible FMC who's a path of self discovery.
The chemistry between these 3 is outrageous.
The plot? It's plotting!
The spice? It's spicy!
Really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series come to fruition.
This book is an exceptional blend of fantasy and romance that captivated me from the very first page. The characters are wonderfully crafted, and I found myself falling in love with them right away. The balance between a slow burn romance and engaging plot development was perfect, and the spicy scenes were nothing short of perfection! 🌶️🌶️
I enjoyed the witty banter among the characters, which added depth and humor to the story. The build-up was masterfully executed—every detail mattered, and nothing felt extraneous. Each character had a distinct personality that truly shone through, and their relationships were diverse yet intimately portrayed.
I was completely enthralled, eagerly turning the pages chapter by chapter. The emotional highs and lows left my heart broken, and now I'm left eagerly anticipating the release of the second book. This is a must-read for anyone who enjoys rich storytelling and compelling characters!🖤
This book gave me all the feels - there’s love, friendship, heartbreak, hope…and spice 😉
Such a captivating story and lovable characters! Estelle learns shocking secrets about her past and sets out on a journey to uncover the truth. In an unlikely turn of events shes’s accompanied by not one but 2 handsome kings guards 🤗 one fae and one human. Things get spicy! Which I was not expecting I thought it was going to be a love triangle but this was so much better 🥵
I enjoyed this story! I want to see what happens in the next book!
