Educational, beautiful, and a fun read!

A decent amalgamation of facts and folklore about woodlands. It's generally free from jargon and terminology that could bore non experts and is written in quite an engaging way at times. I learned a few new things, even the distinction between the terms woodland and forest themselves.
The DIY section towards the end was a nice addition, as were the various quotes that introduce each chapter; being sure to include Shakespeare and a Chinese proverb or two.
The book itself is a nice fabric hard cover with reflective gold highlights. It really didn't need to look this good, but it's a very good design choice.
It's quite short on text and there's almost always an illustration, diagram, or Did You Know? section of some sort on each page, so it is not a long read. This is both good and not so good. It makes for an easy and straight-to-the-point read, but at £14.99 new, it's maybe quite expensive for what it is.
Despite being non fiction, it maybe could've benefitted from a conclusion or closing statement of some sort. Instead, it just sort of abruptly ends on a final fact in a chapter. The writer does include a list of links, however.
3.5 out of 5.

Heel mooi boek.

This book kind of reminds me of the old Eyewitness Guides-books (Fakta i Närbild), but with a different approach, and less pictures/illustrations. Would not have minded more in-deph facts, but I also enjoy the short format.
The binding is nice and the book looks good on the bookshelf or coffee table. It is more suited for reading at home, not so much for bringing out into the woods, due to the materials used.

Started strong but trailed off a bit for me.
