Thrust into the Light

Rate this book
In the darkness I am safe. The seven sets of eyes are always here, bringing me comfort and making me feel less lonely. When the light is on though, I am beaten, tortured, and other unspeakable things are done to my body. Each time I sleep, it takes my body longer to wake up. What do I do though, when I find myself free from my chains, and thrust into a world of light?

The seven sets of eyes I've always dreamt of, end up being real. What do the men who possess those eyes want with me? Will they torture me just as the male before did? Or do they have other plans for my body? Each touch chases away some of the darkness.

Is it enough to keep away what is coming? Especially because it is coming from within me.

This is a slow-burn RH. The FMC will find herself with multiple love interests, and not have to choose between them. CW/TW are found in the front of the book.

Not as good as I was expecting...

So first thing first. The writing was very rudimentary. I felt like I was reading something from Wattpad. Also, there was no spacing, it was just blocks of text which made me dread reading it. It took me like 3 days to read this when it would normally take me 1, I wanted to quit reading several times however there is a decent plot and I am curious about what type of shifter she is.
The author left it on a cliffhanger and I will admit I am intrigued about book 2. I'm still undecided on whether I will read it or not though...
All in all, this felt like the author's first book and if it is they did a decent job :)

I’ve read both books in the Saved by Darkness series and have really enjoyed the ride so far! The story is compelling, the worldbuilding is intriguing, and the harem? Chef’s kiss. I’m always here for a low-key badass FMC surrounded by a pack of monster peen—yes, please! With a bit more editing polish, I truly think this series could shine even brighter. Can’t wait to see what’s next—do we have a release date for book 3 yet? And how many books are planned? I’m fully hooked and ready for more!

I found this book through a recommendation. I really enjoyed it. This is the author's debut and it sucked me in. This is a paranormal world. Farlen goes through awful things - so check an trigger warnings you may have. Most of what occurs so far is off page and relaying what occurred or flashbacks. This is a paranormal reverse harem. It is also a very slow burn dud to the FMC trauma. Dive in, give it a chance!

So this has a lot of potential. Farlen's story is SUPER dark and I really appreciated that even though this is a reverse harem, she wasn't 'cured' by magic peen, instead this really goes into her need for healing and how those around her go about with helping that. I'm looking forward to seeing her get her HEA, goddess knows she deserves it!

Unfortunately the editing let this book down, this is a debut and self published so editing issues are to be expected but they did take me out of the story an awful lot which was a pity.

I honestly think that should this have a good edit and be republished it could be great, this is an author I'll be keeping an eye on!

It really shows that this is this authors first book. I like the potential and what it's about. The execution is very much a wattpad story and could really be improved upon. Every other page I found myself skipping text.

I have a really hard time with how her guys are infantilizing her every step of the way.

She was abducted at age six but calls a pillow a head bed? She would have known about pillows.

Everything is too fast. She can't walk because she don't have muscles for it. After 3 days of physiotherapy she can walk? Her match gets told she can lift milkcartons for physiotherapy? Sure that's a thing but someone that's been in a cage for 18years needs months of help doing the work and only working with their own body for weight.

She is carried sleeping in to a meeting with the dean and is just left sleeping since her match can answer questions for her?!

I hope the author reworks this whole book, I think it could be so freaking good but as of right now it's just not.
