Its a request to NIkita Singh, that stop trying to make us cry, ok.

whatever, still i want to say something about the character HARSH, to me he is the real hero, who really stand by Kalindi in his bad phase, even he show the way to life to enjoy, he was an eye opener for her
the time when Kalindi was angry but could not say him that she loves him, that was really touchy,
But the ending was predictable but i would love this book more if it will end it like this, :)

I will give this Book a 2.5 stars..Till now I hv only read Nikita Singh's Collaborative works with DUrjoy Dutta which I enjoyed quite a lot..but reading her Independent work, you can come across her shortcomings as a Writer.
She is good at Story-writing but sucks at adding Charm & humor to it.
Plot: Kalindi loses her memory in an Accident (which is not properly revealed even after the book comes to an end). She is afraid this will destroy her life. Her family & friends help her through this ordeal.
Listing Pros & Cons of this Book below:
Pros:
1) Fresh Intriguing Plot & Story.
2) Great Characterisation.
3) Excellent Narration.
Cons:
1) Sense of Humor is not sprinked at all.
2) The CLimax disappoints & suddenly you come to your senses that the author has dodged explaining the plot on which this book is based on.
3) Lots of loose ends for eg : Kalindi suddenly is good at Maths which before accident she used to suck at. The author didn't bother justifying this.
4) The make-out scenes are gross & cheap.
Conclusion: Breezy Good novel with Confused Climax.

I personally loved this book.Be it for its language, or the sense of humour in between,or its intersting story line.
It all starts with a teenage girl(Kalindhi Mishra) recovering from an accident.Her memories are erased and she is a new born girl of 16 years. She met her friends after the incident, but they decided to hide one info as a secret.
And the protagonist suffers from the personality change. She is no more the same person that was she before the accident. It make things all more difficult for here.
How does her friends get alond with her? What is that secret her friends chose to lie? Does she find it out? What happens to her old relationship? What is she now? All these question make you turn the pages even faster
Most important question how did she get into the accident? Know all these things from the book. And the main thing the author conveys is " You don't need a past to create a futute, your present self is enough"

Although I’m not a huge fan of Nikita Singh’s writing but I decided to pick this book for two reasons, a) I had a Flipkart voucher (which means that I didn’t actually waste my money on it) and I had planned to buy many books and b) I was expecting her to improve since the first book that I read by her was written some two or three years ago.
So I completed this book in two days as it’s an easy read. The book starts with a hospital scene where the protagonist finds out that she’s lost her memory. From that point on, the reader steps into her life. The basic plot is that a seventeen year old has lost her memory and now, she has to deal with her studies and her relationships with others. That’s it. You start reading this book expecting it to be interesting but it turns out to be a normal story, in the end. You never get to know about the accident or how she lost her memory. It’s about Kalindi’s relationship with her parents and her friendship with the so-called ‘coolest’ group of the class.
I didn’t find anything interesting in it. The writing is easy. It’s more like a chick lit than young adult. At some places, the situations are exaggerated. Yes, exaggerated. So, it’s like you can skip two-three lines ,while reading, in every paragraph.
The end is (well,what should I say?) disappointing.
You’re reading the story and then, you find out that this was the end and you’re like “wait, what? That’s where it ends? Really?” Well, I was expecting something good but it’s just an ordinary story.
Well, I was thinking that her writing has improved. But sadly, it hasn’t (even with the plagiarized plot).

The story is about a 17 year old girl who met with an accident and lost her memories for the period before her accident.
The protagonist, Kalindi Mishra's character is very fluctuating through the book. Author has not disclosed about how the accident, from where the story began, happened. It seemed at one point that there could be an interesting story connected to that accident, how someone could have planned it, but turned out there was nothing like that.
Overall, This one is slightly disappointing one. But I still think Nikita Singh can write better. Her books when Co-authored with Durjoy Datta are always delight to read. I hope she works out a better story next time.

The theme of the book was very interesting but as I delved into the book, my enthusiasm started fading and it became a normal teenage drama. I wanted to read more about the protagonist’s life (other than her love affair) but to my disappointment, there wasn’t much. Read my full review.

It started off brilliantly. i thought its going somewhere. It could be a great story. damn ruined it with mediocrity. the back cover which said 'can you live without your past' attracted me and got me into reading this. disappointing! one star for the great start and another for some brilliant lines.

When it comes to author I didn't read her book for the first time, though I like "if it's not forever" more, this book has its own simple yet sweet story to get along with. But the only thing missing was mystery behind accident of kalindi was not revealed till the end. That's why 3 stars.

If you are a teenager wasting your life on stupid romance, drugs, alcohol, unnecessary partying, etc thinking it's going to make you the cool kid in school this novel is a recommended read. If you not, find a better book to read.

Kalindi Mishra has just escaped from a life-taking accident and thus loses her memory and finds herself amidst of confusion. She finds it difficult to adapt to her past life and being her older self. Though her family and friends are supportive of her, she senses something fishy with her friends. Catching up with her old friends, she realises how much of a brat she had been and goes on to dislike her friends, who she realises, resemble her older self. Soon, she finds herself attracted to Harsh, the biggest nerd and geek in her class and whom she had always made fun of. They become friends and she stands up to her friends who confront her about the same. The rest of the story focuses on their friends, betrayal and love.
I have always been a fan of Nikitha Singh's novel and have cherished her every book. This books follows put. The story is told from Kalindi's perspective. The language is simple and easy. Though the story is correctly paced, towards the end, the author has rushed which is clearly visible. The little humour and sarcasm in each pages is what is the success of the book. The characterisation is good. The reader may like Kalindi right from the start. The way her character shapes up is the highlight of the book

I had picked up this novel after reading the blurb its seems interesting, a new concept of future without past. For a 17 year old girl how could it be possible to live without knowing her past? This question runs in me until I finishes the novel. And yeah pretty well answer is something simple yet I'll not reveal.
Novel revolves around a young girl named Kalindi, who loses her memory and is required to live her future without knowing anything about her past. Kalindi wakes up in a hospital one day and doesn't remember anything about who she is, what she had been doing in the past, who her family is and what is she going to do next.
It looks deeply into the unusual events happening in the life of a teenager. The book feature emotional, mind-boggling questions.
As blurb novel also gone in interesting manner, Narration or characterisation is all simple hence language also simple. With the interesting story line and uncommon subject author written simple with well controlled emotional flaws. I like to suggest it to the ones who like to read new plots.

When 17 year old Kalindi is met with an accident, she survives death but not her memory of 17 years of past. She suffers from retrograde amnesia which means not being able to recall any memories of the past. Her parents and friends help her deal with it. But Kalindi struggles to get a move on. Adding to that, she comes to know of a truth which her friends have hidden from her and feel betrayed. Though the theme seems to be not the usual kind of teen story, it is a fun read. The book doesnt get all melodramatic over the situation of Kalindi. Rather it's a simple,fun, easy read which gets emotional at times. Happy Reading...

This is the first one which I read of nikita singh and m really impressed by her writing style.. I love the way she express..
When I first heard about this book from my bff I thought the topic is damn interesting but don't know if the novel will be that interesting because many time they failed in accomplishing the goal and the feel of the story but now i am glad that I read it.. It's simply amazing.. Will look forward for other books of Nikita Singh

Average book and easy read. Didn’t find anything interesting. The end is really disappointing. I have read Nikita Singh's collaborative works with Durjoy Dutta which I enjoyed quite a lot. But she sucks at her independent work. Well, I was thinking that her writing has improved after I read 'The Promise'. But sadly, it hasn’t.

I would like to answer a question that author has written on the front page. Yes, It's possible to live without a past. Furthermore, I'd like to rephrase it - "It's possible to learn from past, Enjoy the present and Look forward for the future." This is the message that I have learned from it. Besides, Giving up isn't an option, it's our obligation to try that all matters.

So, take the characters from the movie "The Vow", make sure they are younger aged as you are writing YA genre and put the characters in Indian society as your target audience is Indian readers.

I think the underlying message was that one must unlearn... But maybe I am reading too much into it as the author has kept the story simple and for teenagers. I didn't really like it in the terms of the story; it just didn't feel like a good Nikita Singh book. Anyway, a good one time read.
