In this epic culmination of the series, Cleve returns to Greenedge in hopes of keeping the war from reaching his homeland. But he never expected what’s happened in his absence. The four kings have been killed by an emerging army, displacing Jek and the Takarys—Cleve’s only trusted allies. Desperate to find them, he turns to the very man responsible for their absence.
Meanwhile, Jek faces the toughest challenge of his life when his king is murdered and he’s forced to flee the land he’s sworn to protect. Now with five armies at war, Jek struggles to understand who he should be fighting against, especially when his old friend Cleve is seen marching with known enemies. Whatever Jek decides, it had better be soon. The green fog of desmarls covers more of the continent each day. The man-eating monsters grow hungry, and their muscle far exceeds any of the five armies at war.
B.T. Narro has hit another homerun with his book Bastial Sentinels. This is the last book in Rhythm of Rivalry Series and its fast paced action will keep you hooked.
The author does a great job developing a cast of characters that are easy to believe in and relate to. Throughout the series you can watch them grow and mature into the heroes of story. I really enjoyed getting to know them and growing closer to them as the story progressed.
B.T. Narro's storytelling style makes this epic tale of adventure come alive. It is full of action, adventure and intrigue. With its plot constantly twisting and turning, you as the reader, never have a dull moment.
I really enjoyed Bastial Sentinels and the entire Rhythm of Rivalry Series and I highly recommend this book to all readers.
[Please note: I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.]
Bastial Sentinels was in my opinion a bit of a disappointment. It is the final book in the Rhythm of Rivalry series and it did not leave me satisfied at the end. The timing of the story seemed very off. 80% of the book was a build up and took place at one or two minor locations while the last 20% is the most important part of the story and didn't get the attention it deserved. Without getting in to spoilers, Fathol's story left me frustrated and disappointed. While this is the final book in the Rhythm of Rivalry, I see it as more of an extended epilogue with Bastial Frenzy (book 4) being the ending.
This series was one of the best I have read in many years.
The overall plot was exceptional with characters that were easy to love and root for. Each character had believability and worth. No one was extraneous or boring. The worlds were populated with multiple races that flowed together into a tense drama that had moments of laughter and fun. Highly recommended series.
A satisfying ending to a great story, but the narrator is so, so bad. The female characters all have horrible breathy baby-voices, most of the males sound like they smoke 40 cigarettes a day (because manly men!), and somehow many of them still manage to sound like each other.
Good thing the first 3,5 books were narrated by other people, or I'd never gotten into the story in the first place.

I totally believe that you will also fall in love with these books. Great Reading Everyone.
There are some novels and series I wish would never end, yet long for the resolution of the conflicts. This is one of those series! I'm so glad Narro has another series set in the same lands as The Rhythm of Rivalry (which I think should have the word Bastial some where in the title.). I can't wait!B.T. NarroBastial Sentinels
