Michael Blayne thought his worries were over. He had resigned from the Galactic Armed Forces, fulfilled the prophecy of the Golden Dragon, and unraveled the secret of the Origin Stone. He quickly learned there was no place in the galaxy where they could not find him and knew from experience that when you cannot run or hide you have only one choice left...Fight.Time's Rebels is the fourth book in the Time's Edge series.

Michael and Kate are relaxing at Cilcourt when Xerses appears at the gate demanding entry. He has come to share details of his meeting the previous day with the Ratherians, their question of Xerses' allegiance and their invasion plans. Michael and Xerses had reached a type of understanding, having been enemies working together to free the seven cities in the recent past. That understanding had consisted of not seeing each other for the past two months. It appeared they would have to work together now but before they could make plans they were both summoned to Time's Edge by the Keeper. Expecting to find Rista waiting for them they were instead taken to Rylante, the temporary Keeper. Rylante explained Rista has been called back to the Great Realm. He proceeded to accuse the two scienticians of serious crimes and summarily sentenced them to imprisonment. They found themselves in a room with one glass wall, soon discovering their powers had no effect there. And where, exactly are they? What would Rylante do with Kate? They were already aware the Ratherians had invaded the seven cities and were attempting to enter Cilcourt. Before they could find answers to their questions they had to get out of the room, but how?
